@rafiweiss3915 I love the artwork inside of this box in particular! I just have limited space (don't we all though?) and so I prefer to combine as much as possible. If I have expansion boxes I'm not using (such as from Shrieking Hollow, Anachrony, Spirit Island, Scythe, etc) I just wonder if someone else might want them. I'd hate to have to recycle them, but right now they're just sitting in a closet. Also, I'd love to get back to our VF discussion at some point, sorry for the extended absence! I think the next 3-6 months for me are going to be pretty rough, but I hope you're doing well and still enjoying some VF!
@@table_for_oneI got the acrylic version you can Nest the boxes inside each other. It’s still as thick as both boxes so not really saving space but still gives me that 1 box feel
@eblancho871 Hey, that's a great tip, thanks for sharing! How do you like the acrylic tiles? I assumed they would be more difficult to shuffle, especially without scratching, but I have no first-hand experience to support that. Also, do they extend way above the candle stack?
@@table_for_onegreat questions. The acrylic tiles are very pretty I have noticed a little bit of minor paint chip around the edges of the tiles but everything is black so you’d probably never notice. Haven’t played with the tiles yet. But I did try a scratch test using two tiles they seem reasonably durable but they can scratch if enough force is applied. The tiles are a little bit thicker than a normal tile 10 cardboard tiles is roughly equal to 7 acrylic. The candle holder has been scaled up about an inch and a half approximately to accommodate extra thickness.
@eblancho871 Ahhh, I didn't realize/remember that the candle holder was different--makes sense! Well I hope that when you do get around to playing with the acrylic tiles you really enjoy them! I frequently prefer the more premium components because I feel like it does add to the enjoyment, so this game was a rare exception where I stuck with the original cardboard. Still happy with it though!
@m34nb34n I have seen that in some homes and I’m for it haha! But I don’t think I have enough walls-I’d need a full art gallery for all my empty expansion boxes 🤣
I'm keeping the original box, and the expansion box. I see them as different experiences, and wouldnt always play with the expansion, especially when playing with new people. The box art of both are great
@tearunnerslab I might not always play with the expansion either, but I also don't always play with the Dirge and I still keep that in the box. For shelf space reasons I want to minimize boxes, but then I don't want to be wasteful with the unused expansion boxes (maybe that's just me though!) The artwork is indeed excellent. It's too bad that of the 2 boxes, the only piece without interior art is the lid for the base game (on my copy, anyway--it's just brown cardboard), because that's the piece I see the most. Interior box artwork is always such a cool bonus!
If a box has artwork on the inside, it’s pretty much an instant and permanent keep. I love it when publishers do that.
