    Ed, you are right on, It is better and worth the price. Now I want to see them drop the timeline. I know it is coming. Thanks for all you do. Love you channel.

    It seems like a great reverb pedal. What always concerns me with these companies though is that they can get you to pay $400-$500+ for their latest pedal but then a year or so later they come out with a new, improved version.

    Yes the old one had a cab sim switch on the back. Back before anyone knew what a cab sim was.

    This thing is expensive but it also helped me knock three pedals off my board and essentially paid for itself. The impulse loading feature alone is insane!

  • @ForrestWest
    @ForrestWest 4 месяца назад +2

    I just got mine and it sounds great! Regular type reverbs with clarity and huge ambient harmonic washes. I haven't even tried the cab simulations and impulses yet.

    I just want to figure out how to run my two multi-effects pedals into the Big Sky MX using a stereo switcher of some kind so I can play with either one without having to switch cables.

    I’ve heard people complain about that screen and honestly I prefer a simpler screen interface- I had the meris LVX and while ya that screen looks way better, interacting with it never really felt natural….

    I never owned the old Big Sky, so I can't compare, but I will say it is the best sounding reverb pedal I have ever heard. Great video btw!

    I run two reverbs in series regularly, which makes this unit far more appealing than the original (which I never bought). Wished they’d updated the look though - the Meris stuff looks way cooler.

    I had a Strymon Flint and gave it a run for a year, sold it. Tremolo was nice, but too much for just a tremolo pedal. The only digital reverb I've kept is EHX's Ocean's 12, which is a dual reverb. Yeah, not a Strymon fanboy either.

    • @EdPettersen
      @EdPettersen  4 месяца назад +1

      I liked the Flint, it's a good idea to save space I suppose. The V2 was better.

    • @bbbro34
      @bbbro34 4 месяца назад

      I thought the plate setting sounded the best...yes, that was my initial take on it, space and simplicity too, I found their spring setting to be just laden with digital artifacts, which I found surprising for such a revered pedal and company.

      Strymon DIG is my favorite of their pedals, and the mobius is still the best sounding multi-modulation effect pedal, even though its individual effects don’t hold up against individual best-in-class pedals for each effect. For midi pedalboard users, the ‘stryfecta’ are very solid and tourable options.

    • @EdPettersen
      @EdPettersen  4 месяца назад

      @@FakeGlasses Deco was my favorite previously. That is a perfect pedal IMO. Especially V2.

      It’s odd. I think they have to much of a metallic sound . ( when I tried a couple of stores. Not on my equipment)
