i never played a dumble or dumble pedal and don't listen to any guitaristrs who use dumbles. all i know is i was thinking about getting a pedal amp of some kind a week before this came out, then this came out and i listened to a few demos and it sounded good so i ordered it and so far i'm glad i did because it sounds a lot better than the amp sim software i have been using and i can't really play my tube amps in my apartment.
Glad you decided for yourself. Separately, I don't like looking at the computer when playing the guitar, so these pedals allow me to "unplug" from computers.
I remember Alexander Dumble gave a very short interview where he was asked why tubes sound better than solid state. He basically said the fragile harmonics apparently survive in a vacuum tube environment whereas in a solid state, they are squashed. So….if it ain’t tube, it shouldn’t be marketed as the Dumble sound to me, at least not for nearly 400 bucks ! it needs to incorporate tubes that preserve the harmonics or it’s a non starter.
Incorrect info, it’s absolutely not 10ms of latency. Also latency has no bearing on accurate modeling of sound. I’m not buying this pedal either because I prefer analog stuff, but you have definitely misunderstood the tech. Just fact checking here.
I've watched a lot of your videos on this topic in the past, the key Piont is have you tried it, because let's be honest lots of people sound like themselves on anything, you rate the dumkudo as the best OD sound but surely that's because you've tried it? I have the twin custom zenkudo, dumkudo and a zendrive and love them for what the are. I have just got the UA Enigmatic and as I type I'm setting it up.
@MikeHenrick1 Well, I've tried over 100 Dumble pedals. No single one is my "favorite" overall, as they do different things. For gain, it's the Dumkudo. For clean it's the Ethos Clean Fusion 2 and the Free the Tone. Etc.
@ I appreciate your response, so you have tried 100 including the dumkudo and ethos but not the UA Enigmatic? So it could possibly be better that you think. I’m just saying, it possible. Personally as long as I can get the sound I want out of it. It will be good enough. If you were local you can try mine.
Just try the dam pedal, how can you speak about something you haven’t tried, who know it may change your mind, when it’s in your hands, you probably have the ear and be able to tweak it right…

I have to admit that of all the UA pedals, this is the one that would interest me the most. But I agree that it sounds digital and bright. I'm still looking at videos but have yet to be that impressed. Also I've read quite a few complaints about their lack of customer service. That bothers me too.

@EdPettersen UAFX had 4 dumbles. If their other pedals are accurate representations of their respective amp models, why would this one be any different?
