Take a look at his technique and form, it was just beautiful. Also see the final of the 1996 Olympics, it was a lesson in how to run the steeplechase. When he was young, he would run from home to school an hour and a half and then back home again for another an hour and a half. Now (2020) he is long forgotten but to me he is one of the greatest. He was just ahead of his time.

The most beautiful running teqnique ever. Sadly many have forgotten him today just like they forgotten Nourredine Morceli. But at least Kiptanui was the first man breaking the 8min barrier, and no one can take that away from him.

Yes, agree. I remember this at the time. He was one of those runners you could really enjoy watching.

I sometimes get him confused with Moses Tanui, who was the first man to break the 1hr barrier in the Half-Marathon
