    Thanks for the video.. my favorite part was the recommendation of setting the alarm at 15.5v. I've been slowly looking for that number and am glad someone finally said it. I have 2 m18 adapters, 1 like yours and one with a built in step down to 12v. So the 12v doesn't help me with any alarms aka I'll have to watch it closer than the direct connect.
    Thanks again.

    Nice build, I got my build not too long ago. I got all my Garmin panoptix livescope separate, along with the garmin extra large bag which comes with the base. I have plenty of room in that bag.

      I didn't know about the XL bag when i picked up mine and kind of regretted it when i first set it up. But now i think i have everything exactly how I want it, its a tight fit but love how compact it is.

      Hello David, are you planning to use your garmin panoptix livescope for ice fishing? If you do do you made your own mounting for your transducer or purchased from somewhere?

    • @DavidPhamChannel
      @DavidPhamChannel  4 года назад

      @@philipnguyen2529 no I've never ice fished before so not planning on it but who knows. If I do plan to I'll probably look at purchasing the mount from Garmin if it's reasonably priced, if not then I see gluing some pvc pipes as an option.

    If I have a Echomap 73 unit and livescope transducer and would like to make it portable can I purchase the canvas bad and frame alone? If so, who would I order it from ?

    • @DavidPhamChannel
      @DavidPhamChannel  2 года назад

      They call it the "Portable Ice Fishing Kit" or "Large Portable Ice Fishing Kit", when i was researching this awhile ago there were no options to just get the bag and frame, it came with all the accessories. I ordered from a local store in town called GPS City, a Canadian retailer.

    Not supposed to run the transducer out of water.

    • @rickwilliams6922
      @rickwilliams6922 3 года назад

      why not? it only burns the transducer up it causes cancer. lol

  • @rickwilliams6922

    you wont hurt your batts. by running them all the way down. lol I use mine from my Dewalt power tools that I've had for years and run them until they die. these battery's are not like the older kind, these drop from 100% strength to nothing, meaning your battery's can out put full power when all most dead. also dont run your transducer when out of the water, you can burn it up and it can cause cancer. lol if you tap your power button you'll get an option to disable your sonar. one of the ways you get that clear picture on live scope is the high radiation levels, the loop hole that garim uses to keep from getting sued a few years from now is that " I AGREE" button that we hit every time we use our units. lol

      Nice explanation. One thing which Garmin cautions.... Dont just dump your power by pulling your battery or by on/off switch without first shutting the unit down with its own power button. These have processors just like your computer and it could corrupt the files and the start up sequence might get scrambled. They recommend using the power button to fully let the unit shut itself down safely, then use your installed on/off buttons to stop the flow of parasitic drain. A handy thing to use is the Pause option to stop live scope or your sonar when you have the transducer out of the water or dont plan on using the live scope for awhile . Saves tons of battery during the trip.
