My problem lies from calling one of the best composers of all time's work "throwing a brick into a washing machine" along with the fact we are only getting 1 remake to our knowledge from Silent Hill with the most recent and upcoming works being original. I can't help but look at her in a weird way with all her Capcom connections too.
I never even heard of her before until I watched her RE2 remake vid which was really well done. I did kind of rub me the wrong way though the way she was disparaging Bloober team . Saying people should stick to their guns and not play it simply because it’s made by them. What the hell did they ever do to deserve that ? They’re a studio that has been given their dream job . Let’s judge their work on the merits of it and no some tribal internet crap .
@@pmac206 she played the medium, which is a game made by bloober team and was original she shat all over it. And I think she put herself into a really big hole here because if there is a Dino crisis remake or even a parasite remake she’s going to be all over those games and definitely review them and then she’s going to be called a hypocrite.
@@beyond-the-soul8651 It’s probably something stupid and simple like she wasn’t provided a review copy and she doesn’t want to buy it . Rather than just saying that outright, she takes this have wit moral stance that really doesn’t make sense. I mean, I looked at her channel. She’s covered the game every other step of the way reacting to the trailers.

It's been done since forever, I guess it pays more then sitting in front of a cam and j rking off ... From one media clown to another ... other then that couldnt care less for remakes, come to think of it idk why I even had this video open in background at all, probably another broken YT autoplay nonsense where my playlists become scrambled eggs or stops due to some ad asking me if I want to continue ... b ch I made a playlist so I don't get interupted in my work, stop asking me pointless s it .... So many people defending Suzy here are missing a vital point. By saying she is tired of remakes she has now backed herself into a corner where as now hypothetically if a Dino Crisis remake or Code Veronica remake or maybe even a Parasite Eve remake get announced she wont be able to cover those without appearing hypocritical.
She also backed herself into a corner too by asking for doesn’t people want new games? Well, she shat all over the medium, which was a new game and that was made by bloober team. They are the same people that were working on the Silent Hill 2 remake.
I too am tired of constant re-makes, re-boots and nostalgia peddling. But I still play the fuq out of Vice City OST and Silent Hill 2 is the best game I’ve played all year(to be fair, it’s one of three). 😅 If holding conflicting views is now enough to be labeled a hypocrite(that it’s not by definition, btw) - I am a proud hypocrite
I like Suzi but she's obviously coming off as a hypocritical stick in the mud on this. You can GUARANTEE once the next RE remake is announced shes gonna rev up the Capcom shill engines hardcore. This may come off as disingenuous but I wouldnt be surprised this is all because Konami didnt roll out the red carpet for her advertisement like Capcom does and she's turning her nose to it for that.
Extremely weird time to draw a line in the sand when SH fans have been starving for content for over a decade and SH2 remake is by far the best SH game since the original quadrilogy. She very obviously isn’t into Silent Hill, which is fine, but SH being back and great again is a net positive for the entire survival horror fandom.
SH is not back nor great. It's all just a cashgrab due to the popularity of the fan made SH2 Enhanced Edition, mainly on Twitter and YT have overwhelming positive feedbacks so Konami jumped the hype and milking it, just like they tried with the so called SH HD Collection or wtf they called that mess ... If anything I am surprised they didnt stopped the project with the excuse it hurts the sales ... so they can even more force their garbage onto the masses. Actual fanbase is happy with the PS2 originals, we can play it on PS2 or emulate it, next to nobody asked for a remake EVER! Only the social media bots and clowns like yourself ... who most of you don't even play games. The internet is full of such people who just bark online for attention. That is the reality, deal with is and stop spamming your garbage. You don't speak for the series nor for the majority. Heck ... Most of us even quit gaming as a whole, why would anyone like us next to that ask for games ?! We were / are happy with the originals since they are the complete package and moved on since, the franchise is dead since 2004, do you need more evaluation then that? So if you settle for less with remakes and spinoffs because you are naive or dumb enough or idk what else is your problem that is solely on you, keep it for yourself and stop pushing those same cashgrabs onto others. Nobody cares. If you want attention then try to do it with positive things for a change, hype up the things that humanity needs, games are not one of it especially not the cashgrabs ones running on placebo from today or better say last 10 to 15 years. so yeah S T F U, thank you, bye
The silent hill 2 remake is sitting at an 86 metacritic, and a 9.3 fan score. Sold a million units in about a week, the fastest in the franchise’s history. Shoddy cash-grab this is not. Bloober worked their butts off to make this game as good as it is, and they deserve praise for what they’ve done. Insulting the composer and demeaning their work is just in poor taste.
If Suzi had said "I don't like the way the remake looks so I'm probably not gonna play it" I think there wouldn't be an issue, but the way she phrased sounded a little too holier than thou and this fandom especially have been craving for a win in a long time. Also, I had an issue with one of her replies saying people supporting the remake are blind consumers because everyone hated it when they revealed the first trailers and... I mean... Suzi, people are allowed to change their minds. That rubbed me off in a bad way. Other than that, I think this controversy is extremely stupid.
I mean, it's a fact the trailers don't showcase what the game has to offer. One Bloober/blooper team member themselves said we didn't had a choice on how to present trailers or whoever edited them or somethingalong those lines, till today the first few trailers portray this game for something that's more resident evil than silent hill
Suzi with her initial tweet defo seemed kinda inflammatory and got lumped in with the whole audience that was just blindly hating SH2R, making the weirdest and strangest critiques of the game off its mostly great trailers. If you actually read into Suzi's future replies and tweets, you can see it really wasnt the case. She less talking about SH2 and more just general remake fatigue. But 90% of people are gonna read that first main tweet and not bothering with the replies. It was also weird to leverage the "remake fatigue" complaint against Silent Hill. Yea SH2R is a remake, but they also have 3 other original games in development as well...
The irony of saying "people are allowed to change their minds" when most people are upset that she loved RE4 Remake but decided a year and a half later she didn't want to play SH2 Remake. No matter how she worded it, people would still have came at her for it because it's the internet and people do not know how to accept some people just lose interest in the things they love. I don't know how you got "holier than thou" from what she said. To me it read as "listen, I'm tired of getting remakes instead of new experiences and will not be playing this so don't expect content for this game on my channel" because you know if she made the choice silently, people would have been bombarding her with "SH2 Remake when?" Also you should really watch who you let rub you off. That should be done in private.
@@rokudodamaza I think the story trailer was pretty good, and with that trailer a long 30 mike footage, those two things changed mind about the remake.

Been following Suzi for years now and really enjoy her content. With that said, even if it was meant to be a fleeting comment there are a few pieces that unfortunately add up poorly. Having Capcom serve up remake after gorgeous remake and coincidentally saying "enough of this" when Konami step up just rubs the wrong way. Capcom have had it in the bag for decades now to a point they can put out a remake every year and we eat it up. Konami on the other hand have to shift heaven & earth to regain the players trust after they royally messed things up 10 years ago. For this reason I feel this is their chance at redemption and she's deciding now is the time to pass. In regards to Akira Yamaoka and being "nonchalant, it's likely due to her comments during the initial Silent Hill Transmission. Passing over his interview and muttering "I get it, you're really good at throwing a brick in a washing machine". I sadly took that a little too harshly as the SH2 soundtrack is one of my favourite albums that got me through some hard times 😅
Also, Konami are in fact working on new Silent Hill content. Granted, a couple of smaller projects have released to below average reception but "Town fall" and "f" is in development. Something that was announced at the same time as SH2 Remake. And that's just within the Silent Hill franchise. On the whole, yes, we get more remakes than ever but I also see tons more new games coming out alongside them. Just very peculiar reasoning all up
I like Suzi and I'm not a big fan of the Silent Hill 2 remake either. But it's hard to not be cynical towards her opinion when she's now so heavily tied to capcom. Everything she says now has to be taken with a grain of salt, even when I agree with her.
She was fairly critical of the Dead Rising Remaster and some of the changes it made both in regards to it's writing and it's gameplay. I don't think the cynicism is well founded. This generation has had an excessive amount of remakes and remasters and I think being fatigued by that is completely reasonable, regardless of what particular game is being remade. At least with the recent Resi remakes those games are substantially different both in terms of gameplay and also tone. Outside of the new camera and graphics SH2 seems to be much the same.
@@redfacegaming7727I would say take off the rose colored glasses and not be fooled by nostalgia. I didn’t understand the RE4R need but after playing it I fell in love with it and understood why they did it. I never played SH2 and tried going back recently and just couldn’t do it do to graphics and controls. Just finished playing the remake and I’m glad again they brought a great classic game forward for new generations. Not every game deserves a remake. RE4R and SH2 are great examples of being remade with love, care and the passion they deserve.
Im not famililar with this podcast, but being a fan of Suzi, I still didn't think it warranted a one sided 'what the fuck is wrong with people' glaze session. I think it was just publicly easier to attach the anti-remake argument to one that had an uphill PR battle. And yes unfortunately people will see it as disengenous that a couple of content creators decided that this is the line in the sand. Here, apparently, is the time liking a remake means youve comprimised your morals.
@@Lucax97 yeah, the podcast felt like a "what a bunch of jerks those evil people that bugged you on the internet" type of circlejerk. Yes, some people were absolutely ridiculous and I'm sure the silent hill Reddit is a hell hole right now towards Suzi, but some people brought real criticism to her tweets that day other that "you're a hypocrite for like RE remakes bahhhhh". There were other comments thrown at people who genuinely want to play the SH remake that were borderline disrespectful, but oh well.
@@Lucax97 it's like i said in another comment, her whole thing is horror games. Then comes the remake of what is considered to be the greatest horror game of all time (by many), and she's like "i'll pass, not even going to check it". We can just see it that for what it is: she's shilling for capcom horror games only. Maybe she has exclusive deals, partnership, and konami didn't contact her, or offered an early copy, whatever. It's just obvious, so that's what people wanted, honesty.
Suzi expected the SH2 to review badly which is why she suddenly got tired of remakes just before it's release. Now that reviews have come out and it's actually an amazing game she will be missing out because she has to stand on what she said.
There are people who will objectively dislike the product, are entitled to opinions, are objectively critical about SH2 details, etc. No one is obligated to adore or hate a product 100% just because a vocal majority of fanatics claim it's absolutely perfect. Some ppl are just not interested in certain designs, and everyone and their mother know he killed his wife.
The “enough remakes” stance just feels weird when half of your content is gassing up remakes that were probably super unnecessary to begin with. I’m sorry Suzi, it’s way easier and less disingenuous to just say SH2 remake wasn’t appealing to you instead of needlessly grandstanding like why would you do that? lol.
They are being willfully ignorant, the know damn well they announced more projects in the series. Then they proceed to hype MGS3 remake when we as far as we know there are no other new MGS games coming out.
I get that people want new games, but I also think you're starting off the segment with a pretty disingenuous argument. I don't think any of you were thinking to yourselves "SMH at SH2 diverting resources from Bloober Team's next original project" when everyone shat all over the medium (Suzi included). I think statements like "I’m tired of these companies not having any faith in their creatives to come up with fresh stories and ideas," don't do anything to move the conversation forward, and honestly is pretty dismissive of the current era of gamedev where margins are thinner & it's harder to have new IP take off, or even get games to the finish line at all. That's not as innocuous as y'all are making it out to be imo. Ultimately not a huge deal, but she shouldn't have been surprised that this was the reaction to her opinion (at least in today's social media landscape).
Exactly what I said fam. I love suzi and I don’t think this is a big deal but she loves all of the resident evil remakes and her fans know that so of course they were scratching their heads when she tweeted that.
So from OPs yap session he essentially supports people piggybacking off of other people's works instead of being original for once. Regardless of how garbage The Medium & other works of Bloober were, they should still learn from their mistakes and improve so they could make and launch a successful. Not find success by leaching off of a famous and loved franchise. OPs mentality of "We have to understand that it's hard for them to make something both original and good enough to take off" is the same pathetic mentality that ruined plenty of franchises.
@@AnakinSkywalker-u5b So from your yap session I’m gathering that you’d rather creators not get the chance to enhance and improve games that they sincerely love and care for is automatically piggybacking and lesser than other “newer” projects.
As a 50/50 disagreement to your statement: I think it's so deeply fair to call out that, since people wanted a SH2 remake, people were biased and supported a practice (the infinite amount of remakes we're getting nowadays) which IS hypocritical. I'll be honest in saying the new Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is damn near just a remake in itself, but god I wanted it. (It's a new entry in a series sure but...eh, it isn't exactly treading a TON of new ground) The part that I disagree heavily with is: *I think statements like "I’m tired of these companies not having any faith in their creatives to come up with fresh stories and ideas," don't do anything to move the conversation forward, and honestly is pretty dismissive of the current era of gamedev where margins are thinner & it's harder to have new IP take off, or even get games to the finish line at all.* Splatoon was a new property for Nintendo and it sold EXTREMELY well, we absolutely live in an era mainly void of balancing ambition with comfort foods gaming wise. As much as I didn't LOVE FFXVI, it at least attempted a new style for FF while having FF7:Rebirth as a side piece, thus providing something to old and new. Playstation knuckleheads really said they don't have enough IP when they haven't been trying!!! Like it's fine to feel that way...then push for some newer IP, lower risk AAA titles (that aren't money sinks). But there IS a huge stagnation. These companies are in rough spots, CLEARLY as they have made more and more brash bad choices as time is going along...and I think there should be an acknowledgement that companies aren't being bold enough. I don't think there should be LESS remakes per se, as I don't think the frequency in general is that bad...I just want like, do a (using final fantasy as my reference) FF9 Remake then FF18. Just provide enough new so people can see the new ambitions while still being able to reliably get some funds with remakes in case ambition game isn't a splash hit.
Saying "I'm tired of remakes, wheres the original games!?" Is a stupid statement in the face of a game like Silent Hill 2 where the original game is almost totally inaccessible in the current gaming ecosystem when RE4 was readily available on all platforms & its remake was welcome with arms wide open.
I also prefer original IP games to be prioritized & I'm not a big fan of the Silent Hill 2 remake either, but Silent Hill F is what I'm looking forward to.

The couple of times he commented about Silent Hill was to make fun of the state of the franchise. Taking that into consideration with her current comments her stance on the series is quite clear.

I don’t understand Suzi’s feelings toward the SH2 remake. Feels oddly out of nowhere and disingenuous. Like a hardcore fan getting angry more people are getting into their fandom.
Her coverage was always sketchy. When the first trailer came out she said it looked "Fan game-y". Granted I think a good deal of people (me included) had issues with stuff from the trailer, but calling the animation "amateurish" was something not even the grifters did.
@@mr.dirtydannnnn Yeah, me! I’ve always loved Silent Hill after growing up with 4 and the movies, but never jumped into the whole shebang to play each title. Now I really want to play them all before the next remake.

Look, I love Suzi. I think she's great. However, personally, she comes off as VERY biased and hypocritical when it comes to this Silent Hill situation. She is clearly an Re fangirl and says that she's tired of remakes even though she literally loves all of the Resident Evil Remakes and Dead Space remake. I get the notion of there being too many remakes however alot new players haven't even experienced the original Silent Hill 2 game, and by remaking for a new generation, I think it's great for those players. If she could have just made her tweets less pretentious and more respectful, there wouldn't be a problem.
Yeah I thought about that. I always kinda wondered why she seems so hesitant to even mention Silent Hill on her channel. Silent Hill (especially 2) is often regarded as the greatest horror game of all time so maybe Suzi is a tiny bit vindictive towards it for that like she's tired of people kissing Silent Hill's feet when she wants to talk about Resident Evil. This is pure speculation is it's admittedly pretty hard to believe that she would be that petty but it would explain why self proclaim Survivor Horror lady wouldn't talk about what's regarded by many as the gold standard of the genre
@@SpikeJet2736 Considering she was having a blast when the latest annouced that Heather would be a playable character on Dying Light instead of a new game being released, I think it's an anti SH stance. @@chrise229 fair enough I guess, their games have been a mixed bag but I would think if you're gonna be a fair critic you would give credit where credit is due. If Ubisoft or EA released a great game I wouldn't go "well it's those guys so screw this game" I'd be like "wow, they finally did something right"
i'm gonna try to encompass whole of Suzi's feelings as best i can from what she has said across a variety of different videos. Baseline she has gotten tired with remakes. She acknowledges the improved mechanics but wants these to be used in future games. Re7 came out of nowhere and was amazing, why don't they take the confidence they had in that in bringing more new stories to the franchise. Capcom, specifically, in there last few years of production have done 4 remakes and only two originals despite them both being hits. So for Suzi it seems the shine and excitement of remakes has dwindled in her eyes while she has felt a rise in desire for original stories. I also believe from how much she talks about older games and wanting these games preserved, it sucks to not have any easy official means to play the original silent hill games. They without us would be lost to time. So having these remakes come out and fill in that gap can make it (Stressing this next word hard) feel like erasure of history. All these feelings mixed together means she dosent have interest in remakes, currently, but that may change if something more interesting is done like RE2R originally was. I might be wrong as i'm not her but thats what i see. Also she loves Akira Yamaoka, the brick thing is a very funny joke, settle down guys.
Also I don’t think the idea of remaking SH2 is fair to criticize because MANY,or even MOST people can’t play or access this game all the way back from 2001 that can barely even be ported other than to a shitty HD remake. That is not the same as “remaking” Horizon Zero Dawn
I think it would be better then if they made an easily accessible version of the old game, instead of remaking it completely and making it a different game
Thats true. Every single gamer I have ever known in my life has a pc and therefore the og silent hill 2 is totally available to play for everyone on earth at the moment@@LittleWeevil
It’s not the hypocrisy for me, having really conflicting feelings about a genre you otherwise like is fine. It’s the really weird doubling down and complete discarding of valid points calling out the hypocrisy. Plus everyone on the podcast cheerleading and encouraging the idiotic snark doesn’t help. Like, seriously, all she had to say was nothing, or at the very least just a “not planning on looking at the Silent Hill remake.”
I'd say she has disdain towards Silent Hill Altogether buy that point... She still has yet tom make a review of the old games... and she basicaly has been teasing it for 4 years...
Never liked Suzy's takes, I remember when she gave RE3 remake a 8 ou of 10 in her review, man, that game was something, unfortunately I couldn't refund it. I wonder if this game had Capcom slapped in it's cover how different her opinions would be, there's a difference between being a fan of something and being a fanboy.
This is really frustrating considering most of what she covers is remakes, and this is easily the best yet. This game blew expectations out of the water
@@Kaidantonio333 what on the argument of "it's been a year" should sound favourable to her point? @@Rihcterwilker because there's lots of games besides remakes, mainstream or indie, to try out and enjoy within a year, and change opinions or even hobbies. And grass to touch.
No it’s not the contrary. There is actually a massive over saturation of horror remakes/remaster if you consider the market in how often a high budget horrors usually get released. . Starting from the evil within alien isolation release era in ps3 2013sh. There’s only been a few companies left making horror games with high budgets for premium experiences . they’d release new resident evil every few years but that’s basically. Now it seems these budgets time assets etc are is a wasted on remakes ( we already know the story of re2 - all the bosses concepts etc are unoriginal) -last of us 1 got remade like twice and the second, until dawn dead space resident evil 234 (HD remaster of 0-1) dead rising Alan wake silent hill 2 etc n the list is still growing as people want sh13 code Veronica etc to be remade instead of making new titles ( fuk we need new horror ips like dead space TEW alien iso - btw it’s getting a sequel!! Etc ) with new stories bosses enemies puzzles osts etc etc remake culture is anti consumer in the long run. Companies love it because it’s low risk like sequels
I love Suzi and she isn’t inherently wrong, but Silent Hill 2 remake is a weird (ahem) hill to die on. It’s an obvious dream project for Bloober meanwhile there are numerous cash grab remakes to make an example of.
She is being very hipocritical because she is the first person that praised the remakes of RE1 and RE2, you screw up, dissapoint a big chunk of fans for giving a poor excuse. If she is bound by Capcom and cannot talk about Konami, thats sad, because you started as an independent channel.
Remakes of established franchises are statistically more likely to profit and has lesser expense from gameplay/story RND which is a huge plus for large corpos. That’s it. As long as gamers dont support new IPs or buy sequels with new ideas which are more risky to them, it wont change.
This whole thing reminds me of James Rolfe doing the "No Review, I refuse" thing with the Ghostbusters remake, except for the fact he admitted that he would have been heavily biased towards hating the movie instead of trying to pass it as a moral stance or whatever this was.
This reminds me when Gmanlives said in his Ion Fury review how tired he was of retro throw back boomer shooters and he didn't wanna cover them. Boy that statement sure aged like milk
Well then, Suzy. I hope you can recover yourself if one day Dino Crisis and Code Veronica were truly Remaked and a lot of people liked it, since you don't want to play Remakes anymore and hoping for other new games like RE 9. But again, good luck and try not to be hypocrite and being FOMO for simply ignoring new remakes in future 😁

@@deezee2965 I have followed Suzi for a couple of years too (when I subbed her latest video was about the Spider-Man game for PS4). Many times she was asked to talk about Silent Hill and she refused and on twitter most of her comments about SH was to mock the current state of the franchise. I'm not Poirot or Sherlock Holmes but I think the evidence is there, she's treating RE and SH like they're to rival teams and you either support one or the other.
tbh if she doesn’t like silent hill, all she has to say is “I’m not a fan won’t be doing content on it “. instead she just trashed it. Also I keep reading about her having ties to capcom. which, leaves me feeling a little sour if it’s true because then I don’t trust her opinion to be not bias. I’m a fan of hers and watched a lot of her videos but idk she’s left me feeling little bit like hmm sus. Plus I love both RE and SH, so I feel disappointed that she feels like it’s one or the other because that’s simply not true.
@@redfacegaming7727have to agree with you there, different type of horror. Never played SH til now and I have to say it blows RE out of the water with its type of horror, atmosphere and sound design but can see myself replaying RE more because of the action.
18:00 Funny enough, after trying Yakuza 0 a few years ago and not gripping me, now that i got into Jojo Bizzare Adventure anime and finished it, i feel like I'm in the right headspace to get into the madness that is Yakuza starting with the first game this time around, and actually enjoying the games now that i understand and love the charm of this type of storytelling that i was initially turned off by.
People are acting like Suzi isn’t making a Silent Hill video just because it’s not resident evil or Capcom. Are we forgetting the video she made about how much she loved the dead space remake? If she was such a “Capcom shill” wouldn’t she have bashed that game for being a remake coming out at a similar time to re4r? Is it really that hard to believe someone is tired of remakes? This all seems like pointless drama
I've been following Suzi for years because I like her content. Won't stop watching her but her disdain for Silent Hill was obvious through the years. It's not a Pro-Capcom or Anti-Konami stance since she loves Symphony of the Night and most of the games Kojima made while in Konami, so it's rather obvious.
Here is the exact reason she wont talk about Silent Hill. Because her boss was pushed out of the company before his silent hill game got off the ground.. i love kojima but he hates Konami so it's probably a silent contract saying "don't talk about Konami they suck"
She should play the game, and make videos on it. She won't, she should. Also, address the elephant people, not everyone is on twitter. (I only know the context from Pats stream) The trailers still suck ass, I was hoping that it's just the trailers and the games at least enjoyable, it is. It's fun and great and as a fan of 2, I am happy. (Could be happier, gameplay part has a looot of issues)
@@juice_demon6991 He played Silent Hill 2, and spoke about the hate Suzi is getting and highly rated reviews the game is getting and that he's going in with open mind to give it a fairest shot
I gotta say, from what I've seen on this whole debacle, the worst thing was the phrasing, less than the sentiment itself. The phrasing came off... "Very off" to put it lightly. That being said, as someone who wanted this thing to be good just to shit in the face of the fans who were moaning at like 30 seconds of footage years ago, I get how easy it is to make petty comments sometimes. I had no actual horses in this race and I've become less sour to remakes and remasters over the years due to enjoying many of them unironically. It'd be disingenuous for me to start moaning again about remakes at this point, being the same person who enjoys the hell out of many remakes. I guess that's the other thing here too, right? Suzi has covered a plethora of remakes in the past and with how reactionary social media is in general, I couldn't see her comments being received as anything but overwhelmingly negative for the most part, because it probably seems like a back peddle on her fondness for many remakes in the past that she's done reviews on. Personally? I don't think it's that deep and I still think a lot of Silent Hill fans are absolutely infuriating for how much they complained on absolutely nothing, even before the combat trailer came out (the bad one lol), writing actual bibles of hate over the smallest impressions ever. I just hate how reactionary everyone is now. The modern internet culture thrives off of it - gives you far more attention. Anyway, rant over. TL;DR: I honestly do not think it's really that deep but, be careful how you phrase things - you can come off more facetious than you're probably actually trying to be and with how reactionary social media is, to not expect massive backlash is honestly a failure on your part at that point; people are VERY predictable on topics like these.
He really doesn’t need to defend herself, but the Metroid example is iffy. Prime 4 was already in development before Dread was announced. Also, Mercury Steam developed Samus Returns before Dread. It’s fine that he’s burnt out on remakes though. The sooner people stop feeling insecure about the games they like, the better
I will say though, as a MASSIVE Metroid fan, Prime 4 did not instill me with any hope whatsoever, BECAUSE of the "curse" that was Metroid 5. You've gotta think, after Fusion, Dread was effectively announced not long after and not announced again until about 15 years later, (this being after the Prime 4 announcement, as you know) so yes, we were INCREDIBLY worried that we were both not going to get a Prime 4 and NOT going to get a Metroid 5. Dread to me really is a very important game to the franchise, because it proved that they did not fully give up on the project/were willing to reignite it and that Prime 4 is hopefully in the same good hands and we WILL also get that. It's obviously a completely different example to what Suzi was saying, but its significance as a game on release cannot be understated for reinstilling faith in Metroid fans. It does obviously help that Dread was fantastic also, but just the fact the mythical Metroid 5 was finally released is the biggest thing a long-time Metroid fan could have asked for. A remake would not have given us that hope at all, no matter how much we would have obviously still bought whatever remake that'd be. TL;DR: Dread IS the most important release of the Metroid franchise because of its lineage as "the long awaited Metroid 5" A remake would not have given the same effect at all and historically didn't with Samus Returns.
Its very weird for sh2 to be remade (and to some extent mgs3 delta) as the game is very specific and odd in how its presented and no matter how good they are they will never truly feel as good as the original because it doesn't have the freshness. But i guess the higher ups going "make the popular one again" will never end until it starts selling bad
Don't know what you're talking about, I like it more just because of facial expressions and voice acting. Also locations have more detail and story now. Gameplay is better. It definitely made sense to remade it
@@rat8294you can never replay a game for the first time so yeah won’t have that “freshness” but this game being MY first time it will always be better than the original. I did try to play the original a while back but was just to outdated for me and since I have no connection or nostalgia for it, wasn’t worth it. This remake was amazing
The problem is that Silent hill hasn't been good for a long time and she forgets she's an influencer who influences peoples opinions. Her opinion at release was basically leaning on/ can be interpreted as "screw that game and stop supporting remakes". She lives on the internet so being like "idk what the fuss is about" is kinda rich.
Im just hoping to see Susy videos on the recent horror experiences things like hollow bodies, we harvest shadows, mouthwashing, little goody two shoes and fear the spotlight, there is a lot of good horror games, i get being tired of remakes but is not like you are obligated to play them
I thought Suzy was a horror game fan but she refuses to cover an amazing horror game. I mean its her channel and her choice but its obvious who pays her the $$$$.
How often do we get premium budget horror games since the evil within and alien isolation “didn’t meet expectations” in 2013? (Isolation sequel got announced today?) Now every single one is a Fukn remake/remaster on top of that (remaster in particular isn’t always bad but things like t.l.o.u over n over is) - resident evil 01(hd)234, the last of us 1 ( I think it got remade/ remaster twice or thrice) , Alan wake last of us 2, dead space, dead rising 1-66 or w/e, until dawn, silent hill 2, etc and that list is still growing… make new premium horror games n new IP like evil within with new story’s bosses enemies items osts etc etc
I loved the og silent hills up till homecoming ruined everything. I recently got the SH2 remake and hate it. The 3rd person mode is ass with silent Hill and we all know that from how bad homecoming and downpour ended up being. Make a fixed camera mode for us older fans who miss the nastalgia.
Make fixed cameras? This isn’t the 2000’s anymore. Go play the original if anything! You said it yourself “nostalgia” I don’t have rose colored glasses or nostalgia for SH because I never got to play them when they came out so I loved the remake. I hope it brings more new fans.
Capcom and resident evil r2 is a bad example. They were actually doing new re (with the assets/engine) 8 and 9 (currently) during the remakes ( they outsourced all of 3 ) … plus resident evil 2 remake (and ff7, but ff7 is a sequel) came out before the current remake spam started.. resident 2s success is what’s started the gold rush
Why is everyone shitting the bed so hard? What's wrong with y'all, if you enjoy it that's fine man. Some of us haven't been happy with the direction of the series for two decades now, and that's fine too?? The amount of people REEEing in the comments about Suzi is kind of unreal, grow up and just have a conversation with people with different views 🙃
I don't take issue with Suzi becoming progressively more disillusioned with remakes or even just simply not wanting to play a remake by Bloober Team, based on her experience with their past games. Like okay that's fair you do you. What rubbed me and a lot of other people wrong was when Suzi went on a high horse the closer we got to launch and the more excited/optimistic the community became towards the remake. She clearly expected the game to bomb and be universally panned and when her stance was no longer being validated by the community at large she felt the need to be petty and rant about how she was the only one sticking to her morals by choosing to not play it. This goes beyond simply being over remakes or not having any interest in the game. She made it a point to her audience that she would never play nor provide the remake any coverage, like she didn't already state this beforehand. Like we get it, you don't like it lol. It all just comes off as extremely petty. Just as she is allowed to change her opinion on remakes people are allowed to change their perception of this remake based on new information and trailers leading up to launch.
Petty to a billion dollar corporation? Doesn't bother me none. No one needs to defend silent hill 2 remake. I don't like it, it's still untouchable to me. And that's fine. The games looks great, it's the principal that I take issue with. The fact that any one feels a "type of way" about Suzi is their own shitty problems. But yeah, I can agree with you here and there.
SphereHunter is not against remakes. She's tired of them. If you aren't tired of them... you're kidding yourself. I have appreciated many of the remakes of a ton of games these past few years... but I am nearing Remake Fatigue... which if untreated, could lead to Remake Fatality.
True she's so tired of them even tho re4r dropped this year lmao so tired of them she didn't even spend time making signalis content to boost an actual new idea! She's shill slop dogshit just takes you guys years to see through a very obvious facade
Lmao no that's way off base. She just wrote off the remake from day one because she has beef with Bloober Team for their portrayal of mental illness in their games. On top of not trusting Konami to do it justice. She didn't want a remake to exist even when it was just a rumor.

She'll simply say "People are allowed to change their minds" as she did here. She already planted the seed for that.

This may come off as disingenuous but I wouldnt be surprised this is all because Konami didnt roll out the red carpet for her advertisement like Capcom does and she's turning her nose to it for that.
I'm honestly more interested in RE remakes than RE9. I'm not a fan of RE going the Universal Monsters route.

We were / are happy with the originals since they are the complete package and moved on since,
the franchise is dead since 2004, do you need more evaluation then that?
Yeah for real i was ready for SH2 to be utter shit but they really pulled out all the stops, i genuinely don't think you could ask for a better remake
@@XeroSigmaPrime Name one decent trailer for Silent Hill 2 remake, it does *not* exist (hence the months long pessimism and doubt)
To me it read as "listen, I'm tired of getting remakes instead of new experiences and will not be playing this so don't expect content for this game on my channel" because you know if she made the choice silently, people would have been bombarding her with "SH2 Remake when?"
Also you should really watch who you let rub you off. That should be done in private.

They are being willfully ignorant, the know damn well they announced more projects in the series. Then they proceed to hype MGS3 remake when we as far as we know there are no other new MGS games coming out.
Pretty sure the team lead confirmed future MGS projects hinge on their ability to nail this remake properly. @ChrisMS0815
@@AnakinSkywalker-u5b
So from your yap session I’m gathering that you’d rather creators not get the chance to enhance and improve games that they sincerely love and care for is automatically piggybacking and lesser than other “newer” projects.
also didn't like Exoprimal (a new idea many liked) and they should've made Dino Crisis remake instead
(It's a new entry in a series sure but...eh, it isn't exactly treading a TON of new ground)
The part that I disagree heavily with is: *I think statements like "I’m tired of these companies not having any faith in their creatives to come up with fresh stories and ideas," don't do anything to move the conversation forward, and honestly is pretty dismissive of the current era of gamedev where margins are thinner & it's harder to have new IP take off, or even get games to the finish line at all.*
Splatoon was a new property for Nintendo and it sold EXTREMELY well, we absolutely live in an era mainly void of balancing ambition with comfort foods gaming wise.

I've been following Suzi for a couple of years. Many times viewers have asked her to talk about Silent Hill and she refused. The couple of times he commented about Silent Hill was to make fun of the state of the franchise. Taking that into consideration with her current comments her stance on the series is quite clear.
Wasn't she all over the RE Remakes and Dead Space remake? But here she is suddenly angry about remakes? didn't get an early copy or what? wasn't offered sponsorship? i mean she's so used to companist sponsoring her so

Suzi is one of the biggest cornball streamers
I don’t understand Suzi’s feelings toward the SH2 remake. Feels oddly out of nowhere and disingenuous. Like a hardcore fan getting angry more people are getting into their fandom.
Her coverage was always sketchy. When the first trailer came out she said it looked "Fan game-y". Granted I think a good deal of people (me included) had issues with stuff from the trailer, but calling the animation "amateurish" was something not even the grifters did.
The bias is painfully obvious
Are more people getting into the fandom though? Doesn't seem like it to me
@@sam-ishii8642to what extent is it bias or just having an opinion on something?
@@mr.dirtydannnnn Yeah, me! I’ve always loved Silent Hill after growing up with 4 and the movies, but never jumped into the whole shebang to play each title. Now I really want to play them all before the next remake.
Uh boy, this PR stunt backfired pretty quickly, huh? I was the first in line to say it was gonna be garbage and i'm eating my own shoe right now. Gladly. It feels pretty disingenuous to pose as a poster girl for every remake capcom keeps dishing out and now being this avant garde about SH2 remake. But i've never liked her content to begin with. In the end i just don't care.
But i gotta say, huge let down for this pod. Being star-struck for such a low mid celeb like Suzy to the point to release this? Why? Specially you, Nitroid. What about legit criticism?

She dislikes Bloober Team, not Silent Hill.

That is not the same as “remaking” Horizon Zero Dawn
I mean it's pretty easy to grab on PC. Even without the enhanced edition mod or whatever it plays fine.
I think it would be better then if they made an easily accessible version of the old game, instead of remaking it completely and making it a different game

@@Kaidantonio333 i just checked her channel, it's like 95% content about horror games from capcom. That explains it.
Metroid Dread came AFTER a remake.
This didn't age well.
Remakes of established franchises are statistically more likely to profit and has lesser expense from gameplay/story RND which is a huge plus for large corpos. That’s it. As long as gamers dont support new IPs or buy sequels with new ideas which are more risky to them, it wont change.
There are 3 Silent HIll in production with original storylines and two SH products with original storylines were released before SH2 remake.

Here for the RE6 hate 😈
Idk I would still like a Dino Crisis remake myself.
I would like to see a total closure to Resident Evil though before I die lol.
It’s a shame they didn’t add the pressure sensitive controls. It had a few use cases that were kind of nice.

100% part of the charm is the analogue vibe. The new one lacks that lynchian/dreamlike quality.

Probably is one of those that hate the game because believe the game is woke or some nonsense.
You do know who Suzi is right?
@@saul2083 ????????
I'm pretty sure that's not it.
Apparently he doesn't@@deanpalmer6393
That's...certainly a take 😝
Lmao no that's way off base.
She just wrote off the remake from day one because she has beef with Bloober Team for their portrayal of mental illness in their games. On top of not trusting Konami to do it justice. She didn't want a remake to exist even when it was just a rumor.
Nice, i got deja vu 🧐 “it happens when they change something”
