- Well, the last eight years and 200 videos on here with y'all have absolutely flown by and been so much fun! I thought I would mark this upload with a little Q&A from my Instagram page and have a little fun before we switch back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Thank you for making professional bluegrass musicians even more accessible. I've always loved how we, the fans, can spend time at festivals talking with players and even occasionally getting some pointers to improve our playing. You have taken that to the next level by sharing so much of the "behind the scenes" and personal time. That is what makes bluegrass so special. My favorite video is the trip you filmed KT going out west and up into Canada. I really enjoyed coming along for the ride and just get a kick out of that day in the life kinda stuff. Thanks again for your channel. I'm sure it is a lot of work.
Honestly it's the jams that I keep coming back for on your channel. And your flawless tone. And Dennis always sends a chill down the spine. Thanks for all your uploads!
Good to have you back Russ! Congrats on 200 video's!
My favorite video's are the crazy jam sessions in motel rooms, etc.
I see Tony Trischka is in your hometown on August 24. Would be epic to see you guys play a song or two!
Congrats on 200, brother Russ! Loved the day in the life episode but it’s all great.
Love that last answer and of course mentioning Bela. Keep up the great work!
There are many videos I have really liked such as, the bus tours, backstage stuff, playing claw hammer with your dad, and etc. But my all time favorite is the time you get with Dennis Parker! You all are so funny together, plus you all are such wonderful talents!
Definitely my favorite memory is being able to keep up with you for the first time on your bluegrass breakdown video. Also being able to steal backup licks from you. Keep the videos coming Russ!
Great video Russ and congrats on 200! My favorite thing from the channel specifically would be the long videos of the behind the scenes on the road with KT. Those were just such a cool glimpse into that life that so many of us wish we had at times (and are thankful not to other times lol). Great story about Ricky and Pig in a Pen, would love to hear more about times where either you or someone else made a mistake/forgot something/etc. It is cool to see the pros in a "human light" and not just as robot CD makers.
Hey Russ, my favorite vids are the tour bus videos. I really enjoyed watching the series when y’all went up to Canada. Cool stuff. Living the life!!
It's a tough choice, but in answer to your question, my favouret moments are of you playing in a Jam with the headcam, Earls Breakdown. Love watching your technique. I also love the lone videos of you just playing by yourself. Also, all those fun out takes. I could go on and on... I luv em all man! Keep pickin. 👍
Ok Russ, I have two favorite videos/memories from your channel: one is the video of you and Patrick playing Reuben's Train in G (and all of the hilarious outtakes), and the other is the POV video from IBMA 2016 of Fire On The Mountain with Patrick, Michael, Jake, and a bunch of other people. Love your channel, I've been watching for years! Keep it up!
My favorite moment was of you and Jake playing on the bus. In order to get Jake's guitar heard, you took a snack break. That was awesome, especially when you offered some to Jake. Ive got others, but that was hilarious. Thanks for being real Russ.
I like seeing the camera on your head and being able to see your left hand and the magic it brings both up and down the neck
Great Video Russ. So pissed I can’t get off work to come see you guys at the Ryman in a couple weeks. Favorite channel moment has to be the Day on the road with RSKT video.
I really liked that video where you showed off your then "new" pre-war RB-1. I wish that video was still on the channel but I can't find it. But, there's a lot of really cool stuff on this channel!
Well I've binge watched quite a few years back been subbed a while, so many good clips. One of my favorites was with you and Mo Pitney and the Meyer clan doing Old Home Place, had good energy and you looked like you were having a blast. The POV cam stuff is excellent and that 360 recently was really cool! Thanks for all you do, I don't think a guy busy as you has to apologize for not getting content out. The wait is worth it. Thanks Russ!
Love your channel man! Congrats!
Thanks Russ!...Favorite vid has to be the tiny banjo one with Ned. It was pretty funny and your mutual enthusiasm for banjos seems to bounce and feed of each other. Also, thanks for all the banjo cam vids--they have helped me a lot in my banjo journey to See your fingers as you play and decipher and start to recognize all those hot licks! Glad you are feeling better. Can't wait for more stuff
Well that is an awesome video! Thank you!
my all time favorite moment has to be at the :40 second mark of the earl's breakdown on smiley video, when you went into that set of tuner bends at that speed, my jaw dropped
Yay, thanks for answering my question Russ. I so want to see you live sometime, either in the US one day or hopefully you may tour the UK sometime. 👍
Hey Russ, I am an old dude and new sub that has only been playing the banjo for six months. I have wanted to learn to play this instrument as long as I can remember. Probably listening to Earl Scruggs play Ballad of Jed when I was around 8. My first album was the sound track to Deliverance and wore the album out listening to dueling banjo's...so like you I LOVE the banjo! Anyway, Thank you for your channel I wait for new uploads. My favorites are 1.) Sunny Side of the Mountain because you all look like you were having so much fun playing. 2.) Foggy Mountain Special...my dream song to learn to play 3.) The video of your Dad's shop...I could camp out in there! Very cool banjo's that he designs and makes! Keep up the good work!
Sally Goodin tour bus session.. You guys were on it! Best rendition i've ever heard. Keep em comin..
Musical genius, Russ. Thanks a bunch
Thanks for the insiders views Russ. Look forward to meet you on the West coast or IBMA soon. Keith C.
Well, I ‘m a clawhammer player, so it’s your duet with Patrick on “Shaking Down the Acorns.” My favorite version of that tune.
17, that's a whopping number! Haha thanks for answering mine Russ, enjoyed the laugh at the start of the question compared to your facial expression by the end.
You’re a nice guy Russ, biggest reason I’m on your channel, but I’m also a picker. Too many I like, to name one, but I get a lot out of your POVs, like looking down at your left hand your fingers dancing on the fretboard. I play along with that Sally Goodin vid all the time.i went off and learned “My little girl from Tennessee” right after watching that vid on your birthday. You are very inspiring Russ. I’m in Chat, started out w Ben Clark from nothing after seeing Steve Martin in Chat on a rainy Tuesday night - 5 years ago. Discovered Sammy picks from a comment in one of your posts, the proper way to do a bend from one of your posts. Keep it up!!!!!!
I think my favorite video from your channel (that I've seen) is the gonna settle down jam with Mo Pitney and the Meyerband. And your Earl's breakdown, which inspired me to build a set of Lego cheat-a-keys
this was a nice watch, keep it up.
Favorite moment is definately one of the GoPro-sessions. Maybe the one from IBMA with Michael Cleveland and McAvinue, or the one from the tour bus with Mo and Casey. Seen them _MANY_ times!
Russ, I just joined your channel. Whenever I feel like watching great quality bluegrass, this is my new go to channel. And talking about great quality, what gear (software and hardware) do you use?
😬 I joined the Q and A late....
Enjoyed the vids from Chris Cioffi's shop with the prewars. Can't find them anymore???
Thanks for the videos Russ, love to see someone having fun at what they do. My question: any idea why Ricky uses 3 guitars in his band? Not saying that in a negative way by any stretch, I have my own theory but would love to hear your answer, just curious.
I really liked the video you did with Josh Turner.
Good video buddy
Do you have more instructional videos planned?
playing with mike cleveland
If your ever in Oklahoma I would love to jam with you
What happened to the Choffee (sp?) videos? I tried to find the one on Classic Banjo and couldn't....
