Yeah , and make sure you remove the spring/expansion plate in the middle of the clutch pack/plates (like my 06 1200C has) before the brass rivets holding it together brake loose , and can damage the clutch basket . They must have figured it was enough clutch fiber discs in the clutch pack or they would not have put the appx. 1/4" thick metal spring plate in the center of the clutch pack , I used regular steel plates to make up the difference to appx. 1/32" tighter , that probably made up for some of the wear of the discs and fiber plates , works perfect .........

just install a good extra plate barnett clutch. they don't use any of that crap like harley does.

You made a statement, similar to what the CLYMER MANUAL (such as they are) makes. "Put it back together, the way it came apart." That is good, as far as it goes...If one is not the original owner? And the previous owner(s) put it together incorrectly? That can be a problem...LOL
Am sure you run into items being "cobbled" together "as good as they could"...with a fair amount of frequency...LOL😂
