1. What is an athena chest?
Hard end game chests that take hours of questing to achieve. The more you turn in the more rep you get (levels) in which eventually lead you to unlocking ghost cosmetics
2. Why does he play with HUD on/off?
HUD is off to prevent viewers from reading the enemies name tags & contacting them about summit on their ship
*Turning off HUD does not disable your own name from being seen - that would be broken*
3. What was that voice change?
(Some of you are joking but there are some that seem genuinely curious/confused)
He uses a voice changer when he speaks in game either to not be recognized or for comedic effect
Side note - those heated/offended about him being a 'jerk' stealing loot, there are a few things you need to know:
1. Sea of _Thieves_
2. _Pirate_ game
3. That's got to be the best pirate I've ever seen
But well they are a group of jerks :D And its fine if there are people calling him that, even more if the people who they stole it from calls him that or even more rude. You are supposed to feel like that its what makes You a human.That's what makes this a great content. And summit1g knows this and understands it. If he steals from me - I will use all the words I know at him :D
Though I think there should be some disadvantages for pirates - something that makes this harder. Otherwise I am afraid this game will die too quickly - argument that this is Sea of Thieves does not apply here: what happens if ALL players doesnt go for booty and just pirates?
For starters what about this:
On enemy ship You can pick ammo only one by one round AND/OR you have to use a bobby pin to unlock ammo chest (like in fallout), ship owners would just have to use a key. And also no double weapon option.
And the most important one - there should be a way to detect that a discord or something is used and kicked out of server - using something like discord is TOO HUGE CHEAT! For example a simple kickout script would be if players didnt comunicate about location where they magically met - possible discord usage: kicked out.

I used the argument "the word thieves is in the name of the game" because that means you should assume that stealing is common and or bound to happen to anyone playing the game. My argument never was "It's sea of thieves therefore _everybody_ is going to steal and no one will do PvE"
If PvE is a thing people will do it and there are people bound to get robbed due to the nature of the game

It's ironic that people get upset by Summit's methods when the premise of the game is being a pirate in a title called "Sea of Thieves".

You guys notice as he started to play this hes legit having fun seems so so much happier with life and gaming. Before when he was playing these other games he seemed burnt out or just bored streaming not sure but Its so nice to see him having a great time and his sub count is growing so so much. Summit has always been my motivation to start streaming from his War-Z days. Glad to be a sub supporter. The man deserves the support hes one of the OGs of twitch.
I'm also really glad that he's giving Sea of thieves some, in my opinion very much deserved, exposure.

Its because a lot of these games especially the newer ones fucking blow, i feel like Sea of Thieves is a very fun game now with all the new content and all the updates improving it, I just really wish they would have had all this content when the game actually came out because it kinda gave it a bad rep.
Summit playing SOT is really really entertaining.

Depends, he does the sneaky strategy a lot, but of course you can try to brute force it and straight up sink the enemy ship.

You have to be a pretty useless crew to get sneaked on though. I do the actual quests and spot people so easily trying this shit. Just check your places every 5mins or so.

singlehandedly teaching most of the new players to be more evil though. the community is going back to being bloodthirsty again, and most of them are emulating his playstyle with the sniper pistol combo.
@@herbhungry7565 See that's a fair point to make. Though the devs are fixing the double gun because its a tad broken. There's quite a few of us who have been playing the way summit has been playing for a long time, but yes, summit is definitely making an influence on an influx of new players as well as those of his audience purchasing the game. He's certainly adding to the communtiy but I wouldnt say he's reviving it.
@@herbhungry7565 That's something I could do without. The days of proper sword fights are gone, in leu of this (Cheap) pistol sniper combo bs. There needs to be a delay in drawing the sniper, developers never intended for you to be able to effectively "One hit kill/instakill" a player. And it appears Summit has really brought this trend in, as it was almost non existent 2 weeks ago. Now every man and his dog is doing it.
You should’ve put the part in where they took 10 minutes to put the chest on the shelf, just to take it off a minute later. Your streams have been so entertaining Summit, happy new year, keep up the great work.

Reasons to not use double gun:
1. You cannot gun-thrust. Sword thrusting, while not always the best option in combat, can be used effectively if the enemy ship is too wide to simply jump in to board and cannoning over there might launch you too far, and also kinda screams, “HEY! IMMA BOUT TO BOARD YO SHIP”.
2. If you get into a situation like summit did in the rowboat and the kraken, you run out of ammo, and there are still enemies in the water, they will easily kill a defenseless pirate hoarding their Athena stash. Remember, swords don’t run out of ammo.
3. You can kill skeletons silently if they chase you around an island your trying to hide in. This would have made it a lot easier for Summit when he was on faithful.
4. You can’t block with a gun.

The goal unlike the person already said, is not to be a pirate but to become legend. To do this you are printed with 3 factions the Gold hoarders - whoms quest allow you to dig up buried treasure, the Order of Souls - who make you seek our skeleton crews and deliver the captains skills to them, and the merchant alliance, whom ask you to deliver cargo to different areas. One way you get these three factions to level 50 you become pirate legend but can still level up theirs Pirate legend levels (other wise known as Athena level) and do quests which incorporate all 3 factions

Thezerowulf pretty much, as is a lot of games these days. The reason it doesn’t appeal to most people is cause they don’t have the option to pay real money to unlock higher levels, and there’s no way to get better weapons than the other crew. More games/developers need to be like this, instead of the greedy cucks they’ve turned into.
