    I bought an NC 750 based largely on your musings, 2 years ago. And I have been delighted with it. It is everything you say it is and more.
    But I smiled at your nostalgia about the four cylinder bikes.
    I had a Honda 650 nighthawk in the '80's that suffered the same dismissal from the power hungry guys. At 50 HP they laughed, but it was such a smooth bike and like the NC more than capable of doing all the speed I needed. The riding position was perfect for me, as I have a long body and short legs, again, just like the NC.
    So thanks for steering me toward a fab bike & your videos are actually amazing. Keep 'em coming.
    Luv from Blighty...

    I was offered a 1984 CB750 last weekend but it hasn't been on the road for twenty years and is parked under a patio still after watching this i'm tempted to buy it.

    • @AfricaTwin-Stuff
      @AfricaTwin-Stuff  Год назад +1

      Yes. Tempting. But be prepared for some possible large expenses to get it running again.
      But it would be worth it as these old bikes are appreciating in value every year (unlike new bikes)

    Ok so you have really just upset me. Your 43 years old for the CB750F has suddenly made me realise how old I am!!. I remember drooling over this bike in my younger years! A time when bikes really looked like bikes. 😁

    Thanks, and thanks to Norman, because of him and others like him, these bikes live on.
    The bikes of my youth, although I was a Yamaha XJ guy.
    Having refurbished a I4 or two, and have some idea how much 4 cylinders and carbs are in dollars and work, all those rubbers and seals.
    Not surprised you have the odd tractor, it looks rural 🙃

    Love my NC but if they still made a CB 750 I would probably have to have on, had an old 78 CB in the 80´s when I was in the Army though it was a bit of a beater. Had a 94 CB 750 Nighthawk bought new never registered in 96. I put 50,000 Miles on that bike in just over two years and loved it. Many long tours, daily driving... unfortunately got rear ended in traffic and it was totaled

    Even being purple that's a beautiful bike. BTW thanks for all the videos. First thing I do before doing maintenance on my NC is check if you have a video for it, and I always learn from the one mistake you make😊

  • @terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff

    Or have the best of both worlds. I picked up my 2018 registered CB1100EX 2nd hand for £6500 just less than 3 years old with 5k on the clock. An oil and filter change and we were done. It cost me very little extra to insure on a multi bike policy. Air cooled 4-cylinder with a modest but pleasing 89HP. Not much from an 1140cc bike but enough to huddle if you so wished.

    Just bought myself a CB500X sight unseen and never having ridden one before (steal at Auction) and as you know it has a parallel twin. Never had one of these engine before and I must says it sounds boring. My wife said the first time she heard it that it sounds "puffy" 😆
    I know now why they have changed the firing order to 270 degree to make them sound less "puffy".
    Anyway I had a 4 cylinder a while back, 1981 XJ550 and I remember the sound. Yeah that sounded like a real motorcycle like the Cb750 you enjoyed.

    • @AfricaTwin-Stuff

      The 500x is an excellent bike. Wendy loves hers. Put a cheap aftermarket can on it to make it sound more like a real bike.

    Looks like another quality restoration from Norm. However I feel your rose tinted specs may need a little clean but then I have always been a Suzi man myself.
    Time for a triple header shootout between the CB, “F” and NC?
    Delmore was the star for me.
    Keep em comin you old Shed Tinkerer👍

    • @AfricaTwin-Stuff
      @AfricaTwin-Stuff  Год назад +1

      If the three of those bikes were offered to my to choose from, it would have to be a difficult choice between the F and NC.
      But I think I’d chose the F as it is far cheaper to reg and insure and will appreciate in value. Whereas my NC is worth nothing on resale.
      Then again the NC is cheaper to run and maintain and has a few creature comforts the F doesn’t have.
      Oh bigger … I can’t choose. 😤

    • @AfricaTwin-Stuff
      @AfricaTwin-Stuff  Год назад

      Yes. Good older bikes are expensive here too, like the Z900 etc but we can still find some 80’s bikes at reasonable prices.
      And unlike new bikes which plummet in value each year, these old bike appreciate over time.

    Hello There, I have been enjoying your Videos on your Honda NC 750x, May I ask you a question about that bike that you love. I m riding a 2005 Honda Transalp 650. I love having fun testing its speed , dancing and leaning it around corners , and long distance rides, 600km / day on the New England Highway etc.
    The Transalp has virtually the same Horsepower and Torque as your NC750x , it overtakes easily on the highway as well.
    By upgrading to the NC as a heavier and 750cc machine would I be getting any more noticeable power , or stability carrying a pillion passenger.
    'Thanks for your great videos and sense of humour
    Mrsukh

    • @AfricaTwin-Stuff
      @AfricaTwin-Stuff  Год назад

      Thanks mate.
      I don’t consider the NC a good two-up bike. I think the Transalp is better for that.
      The NC would be better if you like more sealed road “sports” riding. And it does have very good low down torque.
      But if it was my choice I’d stay with the Transalp.
