Fabulous episode Dan. Decades ago Gyros got me interested in aviation, that was when they were kit built and not pitch stable. Lovely aircraft and great scenery.
Welcome to Britain Dan. Anytime you can get yourself down to the South Coast, we'd love to see you. My favorite go to airfield, only 20 minutes from my farmstrip, is Goodwood, highly recommended with Spitfires and sports cars and a fabulous restaurant. Enjoy your stay in UK, James.😎😎
Love it! Great to see you enjoy our stunning scenery, and on a pretty dull day too! Such a shame you weren't able to stop by us at East Fortune, but there's always next time!!
@@TakingOff I started in gliders, then SEL and now own a MTO 2017 so I recall "step in the hole" as well. Glad to see you getting back on the "horse". Flying a gyro in the UK is a bucket item for me.
Excellent episode Dan, Scotland looks like a beautiful place. You all definitely got to do and see some awesome things while in the UK. Keep up the excellent work as always. Safe skies 🤘🇺🇸🛩️
Glad to see you got over the jitters, I knew this would be a good flight for you. As you said, getting back on the horse, and you never did seem to have an issue. Whether you purchase another gyro, I don't know. If you want to, I most certainly hope that you do and that you are comfortable flying them again. You appeared to have done a great job. Looking forward to seeing Christie's flight. Oh, as to 'Nessie' at 16:49, I was going to comment, but somehow I thought it was just some sort of reflection on the water. I was going to say that, too, and that people confused reflections and light to be a monster. But, yeah, good job putting that in there!
Dan sorry did I miss something? You have a bad experience? We had a Flynn on our farm in Zambia and five Gyros made the long trip to Zambia from South Africa. They gave a lot attending the event a ride in them and they struggle to get get me out. I absolutely loved them.
Superb little machines. Lovely panel too. I think I'd have more clue flying a helo tbh though😄😄 Fabulous part of the world. That's not plaid btw that's tartan✌️👍😄 Were you an autogyro/gyrocopter pilot prior Dan, did something go wrong?💜🤔 BTW I saw the monster at about 16:49+/-😄😄😄🤣🤣👍✌️
LOL about 16:49. We enjoyed placing our little easter egg. Yeah, back about a month before this flight, I crashed a gyro on takeoff. WHen NTSB/FAA get finished, I'll post all about it. But been waiting forever.
Saw the video magic. Nessey showed herself.

Good morning from Minnesota! Great episode!!

That’s a nice gyro. Great to see you back in the saddle.
Great video! I learned to fly in gliders, so I'm used to a yaw string. Remember "step on the hole", i.e. the side where the string is NOT.
Yeah they said "pull on the string."

LOL RE 1649. Thanks for the comments Gary.
15:12 I thought the bagpipes were a stall warning at first.
That’s funny

@TakingOff >>> 👍👍
Back in the saddle!
You know Dan, did I miss a video of your analysis of your gyro incident?
Im waiting on the NTSB/FAA to finish and then will do a full and complete video debrief.
- "Loch Ness holds more fresh water than all other lakes and lochs in the UK"
- "So Loch Ness is the largest of the lochs?"
... yeah
Boom Boom!! 💥
Did anyone see the Loch Ness Monster at 16:38?!?!
Yes along the right bank.
Definite Nessie sighting 😂
Yes…
Never, ever would I fly in a gyro. Just sayin.
