Awesome video! Just found your channel from Instructables and am so glad I did. I've been wanting to do some carbon fiber projects for a long time. Now I can start. Thanks!
Well, you’ve inspired me to try and make a case for my soon to arrive MacBook Pro. I like your idea with the shim to glue the halves. I thought about using Kevlar tape like we do to put kayak halves together, but this method looks better for a small project. How did you avoid the shim taking up too much interior space? Did you trim it after glueing to one half?
Hello , I do have a similar project I bought some coloured carbon fibre I want to make a clip board with hinges that opens and has storage compartments the ones I buy at staples brake easy and the locking Mechanism also breaks real easy . My clip board will be strong and have led lighting almost like a portable office with pen holders battery storage compartment and stuff that will help me get things done , it will be thick to hold all these ideas and awesome but I'm new to working with carbon fibre and really know nothing about it can you help me ?
Man, i never though that you have so much job to finesh it, congrats! One question, how did you made that transfer adesive that you glue in the case a few minuts of the final? I did love know it is made!
Keep up the good work! I have a question about the infusion finish. I see from your finish at 8:42 the fibers from the twill are showing a bit instead of a gloss. I keep getting this result in my parts as well and I was wondering if you just keep it like that? I think it's from the vacuum pulling the fibers to the mould not letting resin get to the high parts of the twill. I know I can add another layer of epoxy after but I was wondering if you do anything about that finish?
I like it how it looks like that for this project... I think it's a matter of personal preferences... 90% of my parts get a clearcoat depending of the project, solving the problem you are talking about :) using a gelcoat or extra layer of epoxy could solve it as well like you said
Hello, Matthiew! Awesome video, thx! How about putting EVA Paper inside of the case for absortion of the impact? How can the EVA paper and the carbon fiber case be glued together?
would be a complex piece to infuse in one time due to the narrow shape you have to get all the fibers in, but could work, decided to do it this way for once :)
Chur man good job curious though instead of using your laptop to Google the dimensions of that laptop. . . . Could you not of just used a tapemeasure to measure your laptop??
Heb je die stickers zelf gemaakt, of ergens laten maken? ben op zoek naar een manier om een paar dozijn stickers te laten maken waar je dus ook alleen de text hebt, dus zonder wit vinyl eromheen.
I didnt quite get the last part of bonding the two pieces.. So the flange that you cut from the cf sheet, is glued between the two parts, so from inside how you trimmed it?
This is ridiculous, nobody will actually have all of the equipment and materials or actually do this. Next video, how to design and build a Sky Moon Tourbillon watch out of Paladium.

Oh, you used foam, just saw it!
I think any type of glue, I've used a strong double sided tape here and works fine
Hi, nice video. Can you please tell me how you made the stickers? what or where can I but that product? thank you

nice case bud.
Why don't you just vacuum form directly on the MDF? You would'nt need such a big mold.
Great video, but isn't mdf super dangerous in the air - I'd get a mask as a matter of urgency.
