- Just a few years ago, Kevin Coleman was the next prodigy athlete out of St Louis Missouri, but the five star WR picked the wrong school and it has come back to bite him. After one year at Jackson State, Coleman had to move on from Coach Prime and find a new home at Louisville, but after not really making it work, he is now going to Mississipi State where he will look to save his career. Today, we will talk about his meteoric rise, his time in college and why going to Jackson State stunted his growth, enjoy!

What topic should I cover next?
The career of Spencer Rattler if you haven’t yet
4star Recruit. I fixed it for you
CJ Taylor. He is the highest rated safety or linebacker and made All SEC defense for Vanderbilt.
Should do a USF video, either how Alex Golesh saved the program or on Byrum Brown who is the QB
Demond Williams Jr or Mikey Keene
Saying he ruined his career for going to Jackson State, despite leaving there and still not having success is poor journalism
The logic is if he was at a Bama as a freshman for example then he would of gotten better coaching and resources to elevate his game.
@drumusic5665 that's PURE speculation, because he wouldn't have even seen the field at Bama until year 2...AT LEAST
💯
Facts!!! 💯
Exactly 💯
Ay fam delete this shit. He had a good year at Jackson state & transferred. This is so disrespectful to HBCUS as a whole.
Jackson St. didn’t ruin his career maybe he’s not that good. Jackson St. didn’t ruin Travis Hunter career.
Dude what is you talking about?
This video is not true
So hunter the only good player he recruited? Dude had like 4-5 4-5 stars but only 1 really good
The person that made the video knew it would make people check it out people go to Bama that won't be going anywhere after going there so do that mean they ruined their career because they went to Bama
JSU didn't ruin Shedeur Sanders and Shiloh Sanders career either... Shedeur, Shilo & Travis Hunter are the best FB players on the CU FB team... They were already being looked for the NFL, prior to transferring to CU...
He actually had a good season at Jackson State. That wasn't a mistake any more than Travis Hunter who went to Jackson State and became a household name.
1)The better argument or perspective is that he made a mistake in LEAVING JSU for Louisville.
2) Your argument or perspective seem full of bias and ignorance and very much lacking in logic. As you never mention the FACT that hundreds of 4&5 star players go to Bama, Auburn, LSU, MS st, Ole Miss and are NEVER heard from again. Promising career in a Houdini trick.
3)Keon was a 4 star at the time of his commitment to JSU
4)It certainly appears that your intent is to smear JSU/HBCUs more so than to report on a player. Afterall, no mention of new team adjustments, sophomore "jinx", different team offensive concept.
Exaclty this is amerikkka & the hate for black people is at all time highs. Your evaulations is point on. Their are tons of atheltes who go tp th same schools he brags about and go to the nfl and lose everything. And their are tons of sthemetes at so called lower rankrd colledges who sre tge best talents. The hate for dieon sanders & the fact that hes black & alot of black top teer athletes want to play for him not because hes black but because he us arguably tge greatest. This guy sats yeagh but. And his saying they dont have tge freatest phacilities jusy shows you how much he doesbt know about sports. Brand new exo tic stadiums abd ohacilities dont ewuate to superbowls or plsyoff wins.
He wants to give the besr coaches label to some ine wgo diesnt look like deion sanders. Look at randy moss what about that story!!! Facts hurt racist white supremeist who seem to fixate on these tyoes of narritives.
Talent is what draws the attention of NFL scouts, not location of the talent. When more 5 star athletes go to HBCU, the NFL will follow them there. Pro teams eyes are where the talent is. More young men are waking up to this fact.
As a former 5 star Athlete from Mississippi, I chose Jackson State and glad I did, 1994-1998.
Good for you, he's just stating he should choose a different school for him.
@@AdamSheltonif he makes it to the nfl this video will be a pretty dumb ass one. Picking and choose and saying that white shit taste better bc they have better programs is crazy. Especially when at the time jsu had over 20 years of nfl experience.
@@AdamSheltonwe ❤ Jackson State.... JSU Rock the House
@@AdamSheltonhe put up decent numbers at JSU. The title should say why leaving Jackson State ruined his career.
@coachteeonthetube8997 well that title isn't true either
Bruh he's still playing, he just didn't have a good sophomore season
Dude a goofy fr he always trying to find the bad out of people
Based on the video he is saying he chose the wrong schools and that he will ultimately breakout at MS state. It was a setback the other schools

They're not above criticism.
@@jedimasterbones Funny how black athletes use to be banned from attending PWI schools now all of a sudden they're considered trash as soon as they decide to attend a school they were only allowed to attend years ago. If a 4 or 5 star black athlete chooses to attend a school him and his family feel that he'll be better suited for, for other reasons than athletics, he and the HCBU he chose to attend is bashed. GTFOH bashing these black athletes and their schools simple because they chose not to got to a PWI. respect the kids decision and move TF on about your business.
Why
Dude what are you talking about! This is a hypocrisy and disgrace. Hes at Louisville and his journey is in his hands. U should be ashamed of yourself degrading HBCUs. The mount rushmore of the NFL includes HBCU players in every important position except qb. (Because of race, blacks weren't allowed).
No longer at Louisville he’s at Mississippi state a higher caliber team now
@laurenhenry9625 exactly! So it's no excuse for this guy to even mention Jackson state! What about the thousof transfers that mess up their chances jumping from power 5 to power 5 like DJ at Florida state? This video was not called for
@@JoFlirt I was just stating where here was now him going to Jackson state actually did hurt him and in Dj’s case do was wanted by schools remember it’s the age of nil

Plenty of professional athletes in the MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL and MLS come from small colleges and universities. Once you get to the professional ranks, it is your responsibility to show your worth once you receive the opportunity to compete.
Yeah it doesn’t matter if you play in a small school or big school as long as you play Elite at the sport you have a chance to make it to the pro
You can go pro from jackson st no problem, ppl went pro from jackson st before coach prime and ppl will go post coach prime. Problem is, kevin coleman is like most highly rated recruits, hes just avg. And thats ok. Had he gone to bama he woulda have been in the portal 8 months later.
Hey Dude what you mean Jackson State doesn't contribute to the NFL. Do your research ...Jackson State University has numerous NFL Hall of Famers...haver you heard of Walter Peyton, Leon Seals, Robert Brazile, just to name a few. Do your research before you speak.
Yea all ancient history
The video's caption is click bait; I'm not surprised because that's what folks do to get others to click on. However, the majority of the video's info is on point. The opinion that he shouldn't have gone to JSU or Louisville isn't good or bad; in the end, only Kevin Coleman can say if going to one and/or both schools was/were a great idea (s).
Y’all have no idea what y’all be talking about, he had a good season at Louisville. He had a game winning touchdown late in the season… And he got a lot of touches in Louisville bowl and he only a sophomore.
If these HBCUs were in FBS, then these players would get more recognition. But it is just the FCS. And again, Jackson State is one of the better HBCUs I
In football. So I feel very concerned about what you said.
That's not saying much on what you said.
No surprise that he said this, We already know how they view HBCU's.
For you to blame Jackson State when he played well as a freshman for what he did at Louisville is insane to me. If he went to a blue blood and fell off, would you blame the university or find a way to blame the player...this is bullshit and you know it.
Going to Jackson State did not hurt him, had he stayed at JSU, we would be in the NFL now. JSU has 4 NFL Hall of Famers and over 100 players that have played in the NFL.
How did JSU ruin his career? Because its an HBCU? Are you trying to say HBCUs are inferior to PWIs? Dont sugar coat what you really wanna say. How about all the top black athletes at the PWIs transfer to HBCUs. Then I wonder what your content on this will be like it that major transfer happens.
He was a 4 star
Watch the video he literally talks about how he slipped.
Bruh you just want something to talk about he went to Louisville talk about how he shouldn't have went there, him putting up numbers at Jackson State that's the reason he has been able to go to 2 different power 5 schools smh
Coach sanders sold this kid out. Posting on the gram saying “they said I sold out must be the shoes” well let’s ask this kid if you sold out coach sanders.
Do yourself a favor and Google nfl players who have come from HBCU programs and see how many pro bowlers, all-pro, and Hall of Famers are on that list.
You will find players like Jerry Rice, Walter Payton, Michael Strahan, and Shannon Shape, just to name a very few of many all-time greats. In fact, one of the greatest receiver duos in NFL history: Jerry Rice and John Taylor are both HBCU products.
You might be surprised and definitely more informed.
About a minute in I had heard enough... Next... Click bait confirmed. He left Jackson State University and is still playing and you blame JSU...? There are countless amounts of players this happens to and I've never heard you or anyone blame the school... What gives?
Deandre moore jr" Texas WR. Didnt mess up career but gone be an elite talent.
I don’t think choosing to go to JSU was a bad decision. I think not choosing to continue to partner with his QB who he had crazy chemistry with hurted him to start over with a QB who probably wasn’t on Shedeur level and definitely didn’t have the same chemistry. But that’s my opinion.
Kevin Coleman is what happened to Kevin Coleman.
So if he was a five star and so good how did Jackson st hold him back, he should have dominated there
It's too late brother, Deion has changed college football forever. In fact, more guys like Deion are soon to follow in his footsteps. What you missed is that Coach Harbaugh, who also changed college football, and Coach Prime are the same guy. Now the flood gates are open as colleges can hire as many coaches as they like. Here comes all of the hall famers to coach college and NFL teams. Just like Jimmy the Greek said predicted, with a little twist as all of the formers NFL will be getting in on the act. I love it. The train has left the station!!!!!!!
I think Kevin will do great at Miss St.
I went to the spring game. He looked good. Excited to have him on team.
Jackson St. Didn’t ruin his, Deon Sanders ruin it, he’s the only reason we got all those 4 & 5 star guys…
💯
Exactly how did Prime ruin his career?
@@karumehickman look his career ain’t ruin, I was just taking up for my school!! Deion was the reason he came and Deion was the reason he left!! They all left!!
@@bpfe6987 I wonder why he didnt go to CU
The commentary at the 5:38 mark is golden and you nailed it. It is a lie that recruiters tell to pull top talent. THEY WILL NOT FIND YOU FROM ANYWHERE.
This is a bad take. Very bad take. I can’t believe that you would even say he ruined his career by going to Jackson state. Guy, greats has came out of Mississippi and Jackson state. Very awful take.
How is it that young men can go to a Jr. College for one or two years, transfer to a major program, and not have ruined their career, but if they spend one year at an HBCU, their career is ruined? This is what is called explicit bias.
He caught a 70 yard touchdown on national television in the celebration bowl! Everyone knows who he is he just didn’t transfer to Colorado
You should put your address and the times you are at home, incase a HBCU fan want to come by and get a autograph 👀
What bro
Don't be a clown
🤡
Yes this is sure to change people's minds about HBCUs.
Jackson State has really good athletes, it is an unfair systemic strategy to not draft players from HBCU programs. When Coleman was at JSU the WR room was equivalent to SEC teams
Bro no way this said the school doesn’t have a track record of sending players to the league u do this RUclips thing and don’t even know the school maybe do some research
He gonna be starting in the slot at Ms State.
As a state fan I’m pretty excited I think he could be our wr2. I like our transfer wr Kelly from utep is a little more proven at this point
Messing around with Deion! 🤦🏽♂️ he's not going to be the only one who made a mistake. Just wait until the smoke clears at Colorado 😱
wtf Scott, this clickbait title is really unfair
How can someone truly know what's best for someone, but hey, I can dig it.
RCVR is one of the toughest positions to hit the money on as far as projecting them to the next level.
This channel is looking for clicks. Why am in saying that? The content creator keeps repeating that this video is not hating on Jackson State - that’s gonna generate clicks.
The NFL finds talent wherever the talent is. So as the video goes - nothing to see here.
hey scott i would live for you to talk about top running back kendall milton
For the record, your opinion sucks… Deion was and is an established coach at JSU, and the big mistake he may have made is not follow the hype train when it left JSU. Yet still he has great possibility of going pro regardless of him playing for JSU. Although only one player was drafted in the NFL from JSU for 2023, JSU has produced multiple pro football players to include several Hall of Famers. Personally I’m not a huge 5 star fan anyways, I prefer 3 & some 4 stars. Stars in High School are over rated anyways, especially since the NIL.
The formula for FCS players to get draft in the first 3 rounds of the draft is simple, dominated against all. If I am not mistake JSU did have one to two players that was drafted in the first round in the 2000s.
@EyeOfTheWatcher Yep and one was a receiver. They also had a bunch off solid nfl receivers like jimmy Smith.
Both James Houston & Isaiah Bolden were both drafted from Jackson State so this lie will not go the way that you think. You also forget that both Travis Hunter jr & Shedeur Sanders also played at Jackson State & it didn't hurt them in any way, shape or form & the fact you failed to do your research on this fully before making this video will just show people your ( bias ) vs the Reality of what things are based on facts alone. People will speak to Kevin himself & I guarantee you that it won't align with your opinion. You also stated that Louisville held him back but failed to put that in the title of this video.
Dude just don’t like HBCU schools
I don't think so, but he has done little research on HBCU FCS football history though.
Lmaoo shout to Deion Sanders! He would of never made this video if it wasn’t Deion
Can’t believe I clicked on this 😂SMH
Do old school players from the 90s
Bro just straight up lied and said his “best game” was 26 yards at Pitt. He went for 66 yards and a TD against Gtech
Dropping entertaining videos back 2 back clutch 💪🏾👌🏾
Racists
He transferred again from Louisville to Mississippi State. I thought he was gonna be big
He still in college why make this video
Now that they can't control these young men and the coaches getting all the props but have done nothing. Now they can control there own destiny and get paid as they should have been doing! Reporter has an issue with Deion period
My guy... He was a 4 star recruit.
He was the conference freshman of the year at Jackson State! This is definitely Click bait.
Is it possible that he's just not that good? 4 and 5 stars go to power 5 schools every year that just don't pan out.
That not always true
Right now there’s some 5⭐️players that actually go to FCS school
Do a Chris Marshall video
Really!!!! This is what we are doing? Things that make you go hmmmmm...............Welcome to the Real World!!!!

Let's ignore that a lot of kids went to Jackson State because it's a HBCU and Colorado university and that whole city are 1 of the whitest areas in the whole country.
Nothing wrong with either but if you went to an HBCU to learn more about your culture then Colorado is not the place to do that.
@@drumusic5665 Nobody with any talent went Jax St for any other reason besides Deion. Should have moved to CU with Sanders. You act like it was an happenstance the 5 stars just showed up when Deion did, happy coincidence i guess
Nope he can only blame himself. You do not have to be in the SEC to be noticed....just perform on a high level!!
In the FBS you have to be noticed
I am still waiting on the proof that Jackson State ruined his career. This was just a subject title to get people to read your poor article. The SEC doesn't own the NFL nor any other conference. If you can play they will find you.
As a big supporter of HBCU’s I hate to say it but if these kids want to make it and play on Sundays going to HBCU ain’t the way no matter how good you are because at the end of the day the facilities, top notch coaching and talent to play against ain’t there.
Spot on 🎯. Look at tank dell. Soon as he transferred he showed out and in the nfl now
It’s the entire HBCU infrastructure. They barely had any water at Jackson state. Once they have the latest facilities, and field a decent coach they’ll be fine.
How are u a "BIG SUPPORTER" of HBCUs? Lol
@@lambdalambdalambda257 probably by supporting HBCU football. Don't overthink it
I mean there are 20 HBCU kids on NFL rosters. Teams take talent no matter where it is from. Considering how few HBCUs play in the FCS that number really isn't bad.

This is called TRASH juice work. This guy is a junior he still healthy how did going to Jackson state mess up his career when he got 2 years left at a sec program
I knew him going to Jackson State was gonna fuck him up
Dude you have no idea what your talking about
@@andrewfanfan if he would’ve went to a power 5 program from the start, he’d most likely be projected as a 1st or 2nd round pick in next years draft, but now he’s at his 3rd school in 3 years and has a ton of pressure to succeed. I’m not hating on him, I want him to have success but just Im being real the truth hurts but people can’t be sensitive to it that’s a huge problem we have now in 2024
This guy doesn’t t know what he’s talking about, Jackson State has had many players to play in the NFL which includes 5 Hall of Famer’s , 2nd thing is why didn’t it hurt the Sanders, Hunter, Craig, and Brown.
@@slackhammer4467 if HBCUs were the way more players would go there, but it’s not. NFL scouts aren’t running to HBCUs to recruit players, they’re going to the power 5 schools Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State etc… the only players having success after transferring from Jackson State is Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders, that’s because the offense is ran through them. I guarantee Kevin Coleman didn’t expect just to play one year then have to transfer. He should’ve just went to the school he was originally gonna go to, idc how many players went to the nfl from Jackson State they’re not producing first rounders year in and year out, and tbh if he stayed at Jackson State until he’s draft eligible he still wouldn’t go 1st round because of the level of talent he would have played against. Imagine if he would’ve gone to Ohio State from the jump a school that’s had 3 receivers selected in the first round the past 3 years and got to sit behind Marvin Harrison and Ebuka and learn from better receiver coaches than he had at Jackson State and Louisville. He’d be next up and probably a for sure projected 1st round pick but I don’t know what I’m talking about
