    If I were Bjork, I probably would have cried. To have someone perform your music in such a beautiful way would have brought me to tears.

    Awesome to see Bjork achieve a lifetime award, while she is still young. I hope that Robyn gets the opportunity to win this award, and that Bjork sings "Dancing on my own," in tribute to Robyn's influence.

    I really think Bjork and Robyn are both equally nervous about this, ya know?
    Their though process is probably something like:
    Robyn: Oh my god I'm singing Bjork in front of Bjork omg omg
    Bjork: Oh my god their doing my music omg omg

    Proud and nostalgic, perhaps too.
    And nervous!

    The "Human Behaviour" cover was just, truly terrible. Robyn did an outstanding job at making "Hyperballad" conform with her style, but I don't know what was going on with HB?

  • @pomdapirouge
    @pomdapirouge 12 лет назад

    Maybe.
    However, I found Robyn's cover sincere and touching. I would even add that the relative 'weakness' of her voice (compared to Björk's) adds some 'it was hard, you know, to get through all of this, and I did it all for you'- dimension to the song.
    Robyn sang with her heart there, she's almost in fusion with the music.

  • @andiejanefisher
    @andiejanefisher 14 лет назад

    Oh God would people stop being so ignorant about this. It's clear that Björk is really moved by this performance. Of course it's not the original but it's way better than ANY of these haters could DREAM of being able to do.

  • @melreyes744
    @melreyes744 10 лет назад +5

    Robyn? Perfect? Then why does she get the lyrics wrong? I've heard a few others cover this song that made the same mistake changing this love song into sounding like a song about spousal abuse... it sucks. The actual words are, "...so I can feel happier to be safe UP HERE with you..." Not, "...safe AGAIN with you..." Implying that there was a time when safety was an issue with this partner of hers on the mountain. Wrong.

    My feet, stop crawling under the velvet-cushion chair;

    wow, I'm surprised they actually chose "Human Behaviour". Björk's singing is pretty idiosyncratic, and that song is very, very idiosyncratic.
    I liked it though :D. Really different, but, at the same time, in the same vein.

    Whatever, I discovered only recently and she seems to be the big someone.
    Not the queen, not Madonna, not Ghandi ... But she has something unique and profoundly truthful, which is rare in artists today.
    Hum ... Do you mind if I ask you another question.
    I see your name there. Are you from Iceland?
    I'm passionnate about languages ... I noticed than Björk's father's name ends in "son" and Björk's ends in "dottir" (sorry for accent). Does that mean "son of ..." and "daughter of"? Thanks !

  • @benneth

    I've got mixed feelings on this version of human behavior. I wonder had I never heard the original, far superior of course, would I love it. One of the things I love about this song is the tribal percussion which is done pretty well in the cover. A couple times she seems to appear as though she forgot the lyrics though I believe that was when bjork sung either Icelandic or perhaps just invented some words in the original. But I don't like how she just stopped or kind of mumbled. It was ok but could have been better. She has an interesting voice

    Do you have favorite things?
    People?
    Do you have your picks?
    People you prefer, or love more than others?
    Do you have a ranking system and put others in an order of preference?
    Everyone seems to think that THEY are number one........
    With GOD of all people.
    Most of them would be shocked & surprised to find out just how low they rank with him. Indeed, some don't even rank at all.
    Get real with yourself. You're probably not all that.
    Most people don't have the moral courage to go soul searching and just face up to who & what they really are. Most people much prefer to go through life
    with a created or manufactured version of themselves.
    It's a mask they wear and present to the world everyday, and after so long they actually begin to believe they're own bullshit.
    Until it's much too late. And in the end they get introduced to they're true selves, and the show is over. GAME OVER YOU LOSE.
