2:48 I know it's a cardinal sin to mix knockoff with real LEGO, but... in at least a few Mega Bloks sets I got as a kid (like the alien invasion sets), there's actually been plates with studs on top AND on bottom, in the same piece. And I've always wondered why Lego themselves have to this day never made such a piece. They've already done several flavors of "studs on all the sides" _bricks,_ but why not a plate?
I guess they just don't want to do that because that way it'd be easier for people to just put studs on the bottom of their builds for easy looks instead of actually figuring out how to use other pieces and creativity
6:14 i think play dough or other similar material could also be used to make lego food, like soup into a bowl or batter to mix and bake, and so on, it gives some great oppoturnities for more interactive lego creations
The double sided brick piece LEGO needs to make official EDIT: Oh yeah, and the technique from 3:50 to 4:09, if you use sand or beige colored versions of those bricks you can make sandbag barricades.
I know a lot of people don’t like using mega blocks but I found these really cool pieces that have studs on both sides without having to use a technique to do it
the idea to it is that you use the jumper plates that have the stud holder in the middle, and connect a stud from the door rail plate modified to that middle stud holder.
You should really indicate which of those are legal and which are not. I'm not saying this to be pedant, but illegal techniques can really mess up your parts with time. For instance I'm pretty sure that inverted cube can damage the plates and panels.
I used 2 round flat 1x1 pieces to convert a 2-stud wide area into a 3-stud wide area by inserting the pins in the bottom of a flat 1x3 piece into the holes on the top of the 1x1 pieces.
3:30 I saw this technique in the official Lego Mario's "Bowser's muscle car" (71431) build. Had me stumped for a while because I didn't immediately realize what they were asking of me
8:15 quite sure that is illegal. the thicker parts of the modified plate panels are probably the same size as a regular plate, and putting a vertical plate between the studs of a horizontal plate is illegal
Hi SpitBrix, I just watched your misprint video and I have a snow speeder pilot with a misaligned printed helmet. I was wondering how to find out how much it is worth, and where to sell it?
At 7:20, the technique on the right is illegal. You can do it on one side, but not both, because both starts to stretch it. You can tell by the effort it takes to put in the 2nd side.
This technique is actually used in the Hogwarts Moment class books. They're stuck to the sides to link the books together so they can be displayed upright bookshelf style as one piece 5:12
@@torazely It wouldn't matter if everyone in the world bought the sets or no one did. She's already rich and loaded. Nothing can change that. You have a short life on this planet. Don't inconvenience yourself and take pleasure out of your life over something like this. I hate her beliefs too, but you have to seperate the art from the artist.
@@TheFirstCurse1 I know, but you also have to draw a limit somewhere. Rich or not, the money still directly goes to her, which then goes to support groups actively out to get me. So there's some limits to what I'll buy. Lego are small, fairly cheap, so I'll buy those, but things like the new game, I'll probably not buy.
Maybe an hot take. But lego should start making purposefully wegable plates. With one of the sides having carvings that let's them clip in-between studs. But without the stress.
What you can make with brick separators is like this fitted toy me put them back and forth back and forth back and forth put on the size and it's really cool 👇
Building trick:use a black pain roller piece, a cylinder brick and a stud witha hole to make a fire extinguisher, put the stud with hole on the cylinder brick, then put it on paint roller the opposite way and done!
"This is considered to be an illegal build because it could put stress on these plates" correction: it *does* put stress on not just the plates, but the handle as well. It'll cause the plastic to bend out of shape or develop cracks over time. It's like jamming a square peg into a round hole. You can do it, and nobody is going to call the police if you do, but you're going to damage your Lego over time by using techniques like this. I honestly don't think illegal building techniques qualify as "genius". They qualify as gorilla.
Today my brother just got Lloyd's Golden Ultra Dragon in the mail today but something was off. The package was only 1 foot tall and 1 foot wide. I hope none of you encounter a problem like this so be aware (Also the Intructions were tall and it said NINJAG in the Ninjago font and the characters were lined up weirdly.) hi
Hi
Is that all you have to say?
in the tie fighter set 75300 on page 15 you have to add a 1 by 4 plate, but its not shown in the peices until the next step
🧞♂️

i sometimes run out of needed bricks in a certain color when I'm building so i use knock off bricks
They have made 1 by 2 plates with studs on the top and bottom I think but that could be 100 percent wrong lol
I use knock off backplates. I can get 10" x 10" plates for $1.25 each. I love the knockoff prices.
6:14 i think play dough or other similar material could also be used to make lego food, like soup into a bowl or batter to mix and bake, and so on, it gives some great oppoturnities for more interactive lego creations

7:00 I don't really understand how the pieces are connected and I'd love to use this texture in a build
The bricks that are sticking out are sideways 2 by 1’s with dots
the idea to it is that you use the jumper plates that have the stud holder in the middle, and connect a stud from the door rail plate modified to that middle stud holder.
@@oplopy1234 interesting. Thanks!
Those are pretty smart and creative Master Builders!!!
Amazing
the floating stair trick would work really well for some kind of children's grunge gameshow moc
4:55 you can also put studs on the back and connect PEICES or part of a moc with this
4:00 I can see this build being used for a bridge's chains or something similar. A very versatile look

I love that snake holding a spoon and a bowl.
For this one at 4:26, you could use transparent 1x1 bricks with a smooth tile or a 1x1 cylinder brick with a smooth stud to make a light above a door.
I used 2 round flat 1x1 pieces to convert a 2-stud wide area into a 3-stud wide area by inserting the pins in the bottom of a flat 1x3 piece into the holes on the top of the 1x1 pieces.

Wow I'm definitely using this in my next build😍
It gives me hope that videos like this can have a big audience!
That brick separator X-wing was so cool (o.o)
7:54 this is one helluva way to make a nice wood tile floor on the right.
4:20 is how I made light bars for police cars in the 1980s :)
Thanks for showing my pfp at the start!
Im glad you reached it all ready
WOW! Very useful! Totally going to use some of these in my future builds! Thanks for making such wonderful content!
mine too
Super awesome content. I help a lot.

The large Lego Hogwarts set (with included Hungarian Horntail) uses the tree technique 5:42 ! Only 3 tall, though
Hey SpitBrixs What site do you use when designing Lego Mocs and other cool builds
0:50 I like that they use a surfboard as the thunb
4:15 that's... literally the main purpose of this plate modified - attaching plates or bricks to the sides.
8:15 quite sure that is illegal. the thicker parts of the modified plate panels are probably the same size as a regular plate, and putting a vertical plate between the studs of a horizontal plate is illegal

These are just beautiful, and some funny.
I believe the last one is considered highly illegal though
I do not understand why illegal lego building is a big deal, can someone please explain.
Because illegal connections are not intended, it stresses the elements which means that it breaks the pieces.
