Cyndi grew up in Brooklyn and Queens. The front row troublemakers didn't stand a chance.
Somebody got a shoe! Haha BTW- READ THE CREDITS TO THE 1st lp- I think it's half of Letterman's Band in the studio with her. She mixed up every single show I've seen the video of, regardless of the country, continent, night. That first LP was tough to beat.

WOW !!! .. That has got to be up there with the best live performances I've ever seen ! .. She has an AMAZING voice, and sounds just as good if not better than she does on her recordings .. and all during a very energetic display which would leave most singers struggling for breath .. Words can not describe just how GREAT this is !!!

2 years later than your comment - agreed. Madonna got pop ular but Cyndi Lauper had a real range - like Patti Lupone! When that first live version of Money Changes Everything came out: one black Chuck Taylor, one white Chuck & she has class. All mixed down‽ Nahh
There is absolutely no one like cyndi lauper and those days are gone but she will always be a part of my life. She was kooky and fun and eccentric and passionate and smart

Ok, this is one of the craziest things I've seen out of a performance like this. Not only is she amazing and jamming with her band and sounding fucking fantastic, she's also literally fighting off a crowd that keeps grabbing her, literally ripping parts of her clothes off. She just tells them to be cool, a couple times, and keeps going out there. Nuts.

One of my favorite all time performers and the soundtrack of my youth all the way from her music during the Goonies which was the most memorable movie of my childhood.. I seen her with my wife perform in a small club in Boston in 2015 and she was absolutely stunning and played both old and new stuff for 2+ hours… It was perfect!
This Cyndi best time. I wished I could have been there!! The music, her voice, her energy were a force of nature!! And still today this album never grows old on me. It makes me feel such a good vibes!! I just want to get up, dance and sing and let it all out!!

Her energy is so infectious... you can't help but be happy and smile when you listen to her sing and watch her perform... I was a teen in the 80's and have always loved her music... She still reaches out and touches people's hands while she's singing on stage... I saw a much more recent video where she actually started crying and holding hands with people in the audience when she was singing 'Time After Time'... I cried too... she so authentic and true to who she is within the moment... You gotta love Cyndi!
