This is a replacement of a comment previously made, where I said "It's pronounced gigi not gigi" as a joke. But having almost finished the video now, I'm changing it to this: When you made the comment about the hollow and forge being opposites, and Rng Dept. being inbetween, it made me think of it as a "heaven/hell" situation. I *am* aware that there is "bullet hell". However, the forge, being made of fire and ashen monsters, is below the hollow, made of, well, the opposite. And, seeing as the Rng Dept is in-between, and seems to take place in a city, it makes a little sense. Heaven above, and hell below, with the normal land in-between. This also kind of acts as a purgatory for enemies that seem to be cut from the game. The desert, pirate, and space enemies all ended up here, Alongside Agunim. This isnt really a real floor, anyway. It doesnt follow the gungeons rules. It doesnt change, it doesnt have chests, shops, a real boss. Agunim *shouldnt* be there. He moved there, kind of like gungeoneers.
They pump the heat from the Forge to act as the heating, and the cold air from the Hollow for air conditioning. Literally taking free resources from the Gungeon, like a true capitalist.
From my observations, Fridge maiden is slightly different: the cheese slices don't aim *directly* at you, and instead meander loosely in your general direction, making it much harder to predict a safe zone.
Given how many mimics are in the game AND were cut out this isn't that far fetched. especially given there once was a shop keeper/ bunker mimic(Bunker is a cut boss cut due to being unfun to fight and the mimic was an alternate version of it) both of which were cut before release as well. So the mimics used to be able to mimic ANYTHING in the game.
21:48 I think that thing in the glass is actually the boss you fight in exit the Gungeon, Killinder. It looks extremely similar to it, especially when looking at the sprite from the game files
Thank you for pointing out what the Pirate Shotgun's hat actually was. All this time I looked at it and for some reason thought it was one of those hats you're able to store beer cans in, but with far more spots to store cans. Makes a lot more sense now that I know what it actually is.
Obviously the farewell to arms update was a last hoorah because the developers decided working on the game was too difficult in it's current state, and they wanted to move onto other things. So the R&G department is just thrown in there for fun and I accept that now. But that being said, every floor has a secret floor in between, the keep had the oubliette, the gungeon proper had the abbey, the mines had the rat maze, and if you squint, I consider bullet hell to be the secret floor to the forge. MY idea for the secret floor to the hollow is some dark dank cave under the hollow where the rift the killithid and phaser spiders originate from, and the boss involves closing the rift. If you think about it, it makes sense. The killithid are known for preferring cold areas, namely the hollow, why not have a themed floor connected to the floor they're most associated with
I feel like you could rearrange the categories for the ennemies slightly. I agree with the pirate and western categories, but I'm thinking that the mutant part of the "future" category could go with the angry necronomicon, stone tablet and candle guys to form a magic/kaliber goup, with maybe the armored bullet kins to. Also, office bullet and bullettes, the Titan ones included, and the fridge maiden form an office category.
Question: what does the ammonomicon say the enemy was when you are killed by a regular enemy? They don't have official names so is it just the default?
These enemies actually have death messages based on what enemies they presumably borrowed code from. Eg: Cactus --> "Killed by Cubulon" Musketball Guy --> "Killed by Tazie"

Agunim is definitely a reference to "A Link To The Past", in the video, you said something like "Agunim is a wizard apprentice to the powerful cannon, who tried to invade the gungeon long ago and failed." In the Zelda game, Agahnim (Agunim) is a wizard apprentice to Ganon (Cannon), and years before Ganon had tried to invade Hyrule (The Gungeon), but was banished to the the sacred realm, which was transformed into the dark world. That last bit was just some other part of the lore, but I found that reference really interesting
I like to think the Brolett is a reference to Broforce (both games are published by Devolver Digital and one of Broforce's main enemies is an explosive-vest-wearing Mook, plus, y'know, bro).
I like these videos so much. I remember watching all of them 3-4 years back, and now that I in my Gungeon phase again, they are VERY enjoyable! Author could really be a very successful youtuber, pacing and speech are very good :)
It seems like there was a necromancy theme involved as well ( the angry necronomican, angry tablet, candle guy, bullet gargoyle maybe, armoured bullet kin if you really want to stretch it)
I can totally see that. I was thinking that the gargoyles' animation where they revert from stone was probably meant to be used in an area where there's similar looking stone statues, like the Ashen version of Bullet and Shotgun Kin do sometimes. Having a bunch of spooky gundead in a Gothic style atmosphere would really work well.
Theoretically, you can prototype an animal. Creatures that are heavily geneticly modified might already have small lifespans, so you could probably just keep that trait for the ones you dont want and then modify the best "build" of it to have longer lifespans.
I feel like the Necronomicon, Tablet, Armored Bullets, Candles, and Gragoyles are all from another cut floor, most likely a Dark Medieval Fantasy themed one.
21:32... I knew I saw Killinder somewhere before I played Exit the Gungeon! This makes me wonder if any of those other creatures will be used in Dodge Roll's later games.

I have a feeling that the entrance of the gunegon is actually at an elevation above a planet. The first few floors can be leading down to the hollow, at the top of a mountain. The higher elevation is cooler ( Hollow) and under the R&G dept is the crust of the planet. Almost like the gungeoneer slid down a mountain on their way to the R&G dept. As you go deeper, it gets hotter. The forge can close to the planet's core. While bullet hell IS the core. Also the Cylinders look like the robots from the old sonic cartoon.
By that logic, the Keep should be far colder than the Hollow. Not to mention the fast that it borders an ocean, which you don't tend to see at high elevations.
@@Nevernamed Well, after giving it some thought, I'm actually wondering if it is two planets almost sandwiched on top of each other, or a world inside of a world. The hollow could be an underground ocean frozen by a lack of sunlight or warmth. I've been on a few caving adventures with some family members and if it gets deep enough water can actually freeze. But besides that, the RNG department can be a completely artificial world, one made solely for other inhabitants of the gungeon. In many comics like the old Sonic comics there is a hidden world completely inhabitated by humans, complete with an artificial sky, and many more things. Maybe the RNG department is that very thing? Then again, this is the gungeon we are talking about. We have a Mermaid Shotgun, after all.
I actually found this randomly with a friend of mine when the update was fairly new in a funny instance... since I was playing the Cultist, I let them have most of the good items and, they basically said "I'm going to give them my master round, we really need the money lol", I nearly lost my head over it but, a part of me was chuckling of laughter on the inside since it's a master round but, the floor opened up and, me and, my friend turned and, looked at each other in confusion as the floor opened up and, in disgust at the full form of the sell creep and, we both ended up laughing and, giving each other a "What the f___ was that?!" reaction, we were shocked at the boss battle and, my friend had flight so, actually couldn't leave the area and, I don't remember why but, they couldn't lose their flight(, I think we had controller issues or, something like that), if I weren't alive the whole run would've been forfeit since I didn't have flight, I dropped down making our exit, we finished, confused, baffled and, very pleased.
The city theory does make sense They send their dead bodies to the hollow and get some metal works from the forge and serves as a natural divider from travel point
the cylinders are 100% a reference the felix the cat movie, where the villan's minions are identical in design (horns all), and are also specifically called cylinders about cylinders on the felix the cat fan wiki felixthecat.fandom.com/wiki/Cylinders (pictures of them are kinda bad, but you can still tell) the entire movie is available on youtube if you just look for it, and the cylinders are first seen at 2:30
The test tubes probably hand waive the “forging” of the animals as well as the horror. As for how falling off the roof spawns you in an elevator? It cuts to black, so they could be having a pee break before finding one next to the gift shop for all we know.
Ok, ik this was a year ago, but at 11:24 when you were talking about the western shotgun kin having facial hair, I'm just theorizing they stuck fake ones on themselves to feel more "western." That would explain the facial hair thing, by just wanting to fit in with the theme, right?

We have a Mermaid Shotgun, after all.
lmao I love how the lead maiden is the fridge maiden
Manager karen stole my kids
I like to think that retired gungeoneers and other characters you don't meet live in the city.
11:20 Doug Kin owner of gungeon dome
SCARgoyle
Also that's pizza, not cheese
the thing in the barrels is supposed to be a metroid from the series of the same name.
The city theory does make sense
They send their dead bodies to the hollow and get some metal works from the forge and serves as a natural divider from travel point
the cylinders are 100% a reference the felix the cat movie, where the villan's minions are identical in design (horns all), and are also specifically called cylinders
about cylinders on the felix the cat fan wiki felixthecat.fandom.com/wiki/Cylinders
(pictures of them are kinda bad, but you can still tell)
the entire movie is available on youtube if you just look for it, and the cylinders are first seen at 2:30
Me on my way to destroy the *CEO of RNG*
21:32 That cylinder alien might be a boss from Exit the Gungeon. It looks like it, it has flames and an eye in the middle of the cylinder.
The spider alien...thing...ressembles the spider shotgun kin...*thing*
Wait what?
ONE master round and TWO items?
*FUCK I ALWAYS TOUGHT IT WAS **_TWO_** MASTER ROUNDS AND **_ONE_** ITEM*
16:27 My god I’m dumb, I thought their eyes were earrings and they had one closed eye in the middle. :/
The test tubes probably hand waive the “forging” of the animals as well as the horror. As for how falling off the roof spawns you in an elevator? It cuts to black, so they could be having a pee break before finding one next to the gift shop for all we know.
So does is the cactus gun a reference to the cut floor because of the description
Ok, ik this was a year ago, but at 11:24 when you were talking about the western shotgun kin having facial hair, I'm just theorizing they stuck fake ones on themselves to feel more "western." That would explain the facial hair thing, by just wanting to fit in with the theme, right?
22:12 Ngl it kinda reminds me of the Metroid alien thing
I just found your channel. Love these videos
I think the brollet is a reference to broforce where there is a enemy that explodes with dynamite around them
I thought the brollets were a serious Sam reference. You know, the guys with bombs that run at you.
3:54 I choose to believe it's like ghosts are in Undertale where they're completely neutral/androgynous by default but some choose to assume a gender of their liking.
Oh my... 21:38 is in exit the gungeon
the Brolets dynamite vest looks a lot like the vest worn by the exploding enemies in BRO force maybe the vest and the name are a reference to that game
THE WESTERN SHOTGUN KIN’S MUSTACHE IS FAKE?!?!
Isnt the "Leever" the 6th chamber boss in Exit the gungeon?
I think the Leever was supposed to be a mimic Teleporter, probably scrapped for being an absolutely horrible idea.
