Honestly, after the first episode I thought that "damn this ain't half bad". Very soon after I started thinking my-self that "Is this just getting progressively worse or am I depressed?"
It's definitely getting worse. I know they're trying to focus on the characters instead of the zombies, but unless you're amazed by Joel and Ellie's relationship there isn't anyone else to be attached to since they either die or disappear by the end of one maybe two episodes tops.
The way that they ruined the story with this "adaptation", I can't help but hope that this series fails. If the people responsible for creating TV shows don't care to actually make shows true to their source material, they deserve to watch them fail since all they seem to care about are woke agendas.

IKR! Finally a genuine criticism of the show. As someone who loves the game and has played it countless times (including the sequel) this series is a travesty and I'm really just watching it now for the occasional thing they get right. I loved the clicker sequence because it reminded me of my first few runs of the game. This show is making me do something that I never have before, and that's listen to the show's "making of" section at the end of each episode. I really am curious about the decisions they made, but hearing their choices just pisses me off more at how much they have distorted the original elements of the game. When Craig Mazin says, "Sarah cried when Joel killed infected, but Ellie LIKES IT when Joel kills for her," I was appalled. Then this most recent episode, Druckmann basically says that they never personified the hunters in the game, who were essentially just an "obstacle" to the player. So all of the notes, artifacts, graffiti, destroyed vehicles, and old war zones that I see in the Pittsburgh section of the game mean nothing to the overall story? Or are they trying to say that the Kansas City QZ's story was never told? If that's the case, why even include the truck ambush if it literally has nothing to do with this community's behavior and practices? So far this show has made a mockery of a game that is pretty damn good. Sorry for the long comment, I have literally had no outlet to voice my opinions on this game as I'm the only one in my friend group who watches it or has played TLOU.
I prefer niche original shows than milking beloved IPs to oblivion all to ‘appeal to a wider audience’. Video games do not need to be adapted into live action, it’s better to leave them alone.
Seriously, you can't tell me they couldn't have found someone who looked more like Ellie if they wanted. And the same goes for Joel for that matter. I can't tell which got the worst casting really, it's like they didn't even try to find people who were close to the original game designs. But the real problem is that they didn't just cast different looking actors, they cast worse looking actors. A sidegrade I could have dealt with, but this casting is all downgrade. I'd be disappointed, if not for the fact that literally every movie/series/etc ever that was based on a video game has been between somewhere between not all that great and absolutely terrible, so I've long since learned to set my expectations extremely low when it comes to any video game adaptations.

The thing about Ellie’s character design is that her classic American girl good looks gave her an immediate sympathy from the fans. Shes adorable and aggressive and a really easy character to believe could be real. Bella Ramsey brings none of this to the tv show. The casting of both Ellie and Joel were crucial to making this show a success in the eyes of the gamers that love the lore. The fans spoke and were ignored. This is just another woke piece of garbage designed to slip a bitter pill of twisted ideology into a spoon full of the honey we already developed a taste for. I wish they would just make fresh new garbage instead of strangleing our good memories in front of us over and over again.
I think they chose Bella because she's part of the lgbtq crowd. The most important thing about this show was to cast Ellie correctly. Looks matter. Race matters. If it doesn't matter than just cast ellie as Opra or Whoopi Goldberg

I agree, the show rushes important stuff and spends way to much time for things that don't matter. The story of the game is focused on Joel and Ellie's relationship. Everything that happens in the game is either there to grow their relationship and our relationship to the characters, or progress them toward their goal. Everything in the game is necessary. In the show however, they spent full episodes on things that barely have Joel and Ellie together and that serve no purpose. Like Frank and Bill and that lady in the city, they give their stories only to kill them off without having any purpose (A kill with purpose is Henry and Sam for context). We don't feel closer Ellie or Joel, and neither does it move the plot forward. They spend a bunch of time on those things (like Bill and Frank's episode which was nearly a hour! ) and then don't give us time to fully connect with Joel and Ellie. And I think that's why many people still don't like Bella Ramsey as Ellie. She did a fantastic job in the episode with the christian cannibal, maybe if they repurposed that time we could've seen more of Bella's Ellie. In the game, when Marlene told me that Ellie would die, I was right with Joel and saying "HELL NO." In the show I just don't care, and I think that's why many who play the game dislike the show.
You actually address the real problem. That's the problem with that style of marketing. The people who dislike start to realize why no one else seems to feel that way. And we finally see how fake everything really is. There are filters in place that automatically filter negativity. Also: I *used* to be a vocal queer ally. Things like this are the reason I no longer want to associate with such things. I'd rather just stay out of the politics. They trick you by telling you they are the good guys, but they are just as ignorant as the other side. Everyone thinks they're the good guys. Especially self-righteous christians.
TLOU tv series lacks the hightened and significant level of threat the game-world originally established, hardly any infected, runners, and human scumbags who kill people in a street for nothing just to scavenge and take whats not theirs, the violence level is practically non-existent compared to the game so many events lack impact, they rush through some events and bring into focus (*Frank episode*) issues that were barely skimmed over in the game, such a shame, the first feature-length episode of the tv series was pretty good race-swapping Joel's daughter aside, such a shame more things could be done to make this adaption so much better, too many compromises and too little loyalty to the source material, a missed opportunity.
Twd is gold compared to this... until season 5 ep3 then they went to far. Just the barn scene with Shane and the church scene with Rick is better than this will be. Andrew Lincoln was great. And w.o. Twd last of us wouldn't even exist
I’m with you. I’ve played the game countless times since it’s release. They could have easily made an amazing 15 episode season 1 that could have been more faithful for half as much money.

I personally don't like the show as much as the game . I also never seen the point of the tv show being made anyway as there are free cutscenes from the game on RUclips stitched together for those that are too lazy to use a controller. The Tv show is really just a lower quality, non interactive version of the last of us game that's running on auto- pilot

The SERIES is just DISAPPOINTING!! For whoever thinks is good, I just recommend WATCHING the GAME and then COMPARE it. Tes is a bad ass main character, but in the series feels almost weak. Henry is an independent capable character while in the series feels extremely weak and barely useful. Sam does speak!! Joel and Ellie personality. I don't know I felt as if they took only the extreme temper of both. In the game Joel doesn't feel so close to emotions and Ellie doesn’t always tell everybody off. Clickers aren't that big of a deal, it is mostly the Bloaters. Frank isn't even a character in the game!! And there is not such a beautiful town around as the one they have built! and more...

Hated this adaptation after they deviated from a good story. They could've added their own stuff to the original story, but what they added was absolute blasphemy. I was hyped after EP 1, but Disliked everything after that, it didn't seem like I was actually watching TLOU, felt like I was watching a silly TV show. I stopped watching after EP 4.

That is definitely a show I will watch. Not just because of my Christian faith, but because it just sounds like an interesting show with actual characters that feel like real people.

The casting was an offensive move against the fans of the game. It was the flare the show runners shot announcing the upcoming slaughter of beloved characters and lore. Why can’t things just be awesome anymore?

Reviews and opinions are absolutely being falsified on a wide scale and freedom of speech and expression have never been so under attack in modern times. Speaking out against the liberal agenda and being on the wrong side of identity politics gets you banned, cancelled, threatened or worse. Being on the correct side of identity politics gets you a whole lot of praise whether you deserve it or not. It’s ruining all forms of media including this crappy TV show.
I liked Henry and Sam in the game - it was a believable pair that someone would encounter if traversing across the country 20 years after a zombie cataclysm. Cannot stand their characters in the show. A deaf kid with leukemia.... but most medical establishments are completely useless.... but somehow with scarce resources they were able to diagnose him.... in a post apocalyptic world where survival of the fittest is paramount to survival of the species. It was absolutely put in for identity politics for some nonsensical reason that doesn't fit the world TLOU is set in. Nothing against the actor, nothing against those with disabilities... but seriously, for a kid born probably 7 to 10 years after the collapse of civilization, who is unable to hear an approach of danger, who is seriously ill... is not going to survive, is not going to be seen as worth saving in a cutthroat society. They did a disservice to the actor, in my opinion, by using him for oppression points. Bella Ramsey's acting is okay, though I'm not sure if she was the right choice for this particular role (if the part had stayed true to the original Ellie), but it seems the trendy gender fluid club among brainwashed youth is the hot ticket right now. People seem to be worshipping her over that more than anything, thinking she can do no wrong.
3:28 this actually makes me sick, and reminds me of when L from death note was portrayed as a black person in the live action movie. No that's not racist to be upset about this. It's just factually not a good portrayal at all, and it doesn't make sense. If they made a Static Shock movie, and Virgil was played by a white guy, I would be equally as upset for the same reason because that makes no sense at all.
I will wait for reviews of the show, after it is officially released, as I have no trust in the quality of any newer (last 5 years) released TV shows. Thanks for pointing out, that there are also negative reviews as well. Game of Thrones Season 8 was the last time, I was fooled to watch supposedly ‘amazing‘ TV. For me the worst part currently is the casting of Ellie. The actress is not remotely similar looking.

@@TMV420 I have a bunch of reviewers, who generally share my opinion on TV shows. So if the points they mention compare to my perspectives, there really is no need to even watch an episode. I also try shows on my own, like recently Wednesday. But after 1 episode I knew it was not to my liking. Same with shows like Reacher. You watch your TV shows weekly? I am a binge watcher. For example, Stranger Things I waited to watch it, after Part 2 of the recent season was released.

I try to watch the big ones with friends weekly so we can all talk about it as it develops. I'll look up reviews to inform a purchase but tv shows I'll usually try to watch the first couple episodes on my own if I have the time or attention span!
Honestly TLOU was completely derivative in the first place. Its only truly original concept was the fungal nature of the infection. Otherwise it was just a well-written retreading of established genre tropes and character archetypes, and ones that had already been explored recently by Telltale's The Walking Dead game. TLOU was slightly more of a traditional game than TWD in terms of actual gameplay, but its cinematic artstyle was what really set it apart. There were very understated treatments of certain alternative lifestyles that worked seemlessly with the central surrogate family story of Joel and Ellie's relationship, but the ideology didn't start to fully take over until later with Left Behind DLC.
I thought the show was good. Not great. I think the show could've been better. More zombies, scrap the 90 minute episode 3, and that could've been used more to enhance the growing bond between Joel and Ellie.
Conditioning the audience to stomach the garbage that was part 2 or will be season 2. By changing the very characters themselves and story from part 1. Just stop HBO, I dont want to see the franchise die a second time. Or even worse becoming a unrecognizable walking corpse that follows political agendas. Changing characters doesnt mean Joels daughter, that wasn't an issue at all. The change Im talking about is how Joel breaks down infront of his brother and asks him to take ellie off his hands after being told that he has a daughter on the way. Why would Joel ask that of his brother while he himself is haunted by the past of losing his daughter in a broken world. That goes against Joels character entirely. Joel is also made out to be a scared character who cannot handle the weight of his current responsibility. Joel in the game was stoic mostly no matter what situation arised, until you bring up his daughter. Yes, in the OG game he was flawed and pushed ellie away from fear of losing another daughter figure. But the HBO "Jo-el" is not the main protagonist from the original game. They are doing all they can to tarnish the name "Last of us" for the fans who remember the series in its former glory when it had a phenomenal cohesive story and characters that all felt genuine and that were not pushed onto the audience for an alternative agenda that completely contradicts and destroys the naughty dogs original LOU narrative.

Saying the show is rushing through the events of the first game is an understatement. The show is butchering the first game while attempting to put the awful sequel's plot on a more stable foundation. It's just plain depressing after the first episode. Necrophilia? Direct quotes from Druckmann himself saying he wanted to trick people into watching a gay romance? Yeah no. Yet if you criticize any aspect of the show you're labeled a trans/homophobe by the bots. I honestly didn't make it through the second game. I loved the first one so much and really wanted the second one to be great but just meh, didn't enjoy the story or anything. I didn't mind that Ellie was gay, not a big deal, just wasn't thrilled with where they went with the game when compared to the first. As for the show, I don't care who they gay-ify or do a race change on, but when they screw with the story and setting so badly that it's unrecognizable, that's where I draw the line. I can ignore the agendas for the most part if they're not too obtrusive. If it's a black show, there's always going to be a racist white cop or similar authority figure, just as an example. It's almost expected at this point. But why are all of these agendas in a show about surviving in a post-apocalyptic setting? What pronoun you're being addressed by, or anything of that nature, shouldn't be your focus in moments like that.
It feels so good to see people hating on a show before it comes out, saying how awful it's gonna be. And then when the show comes out for it to be excellent and everything we could have ever hoped for. I'm not gonna lie, I kinda feel bad for you... I mean, your experience of The Last of Us has been ruined be you can't just take a breath and move on. They've removed a majority of the violence from the story. They've changed the entire meaning of the series and why closed off buildings are dangerous They've turned an entire plot into tertiary characters that have no impact on the actual plot into main focus for one of the 10 episodes. And they've said that they have 'improved' the story by doing these things. You have said you liked the last of us part 2. What part of it did you like? The walking simulator that didn't have violence in it and having you killing Cordyceps? Or was it the violence and action in it that you liked? Because that's gone from the adaption, it's talking and walking in hallways about feelings.

@@UncensoredScion I am saying he isnt correct because he doesnt know much of it yet, he needs to see the show then say his opinion, he is doing the opposite 1- They did not remove the majority of the violence, they said they removed some of the violence because of some gameplay parts are not good for TV, There is still violence, and even the people who watched some of the episodes and i know some of my friends who did, said that violence is still there, just not as much as the game, and that makes sense because while the game big part is its great story, it is also considered a game so they have gameplay, but they removed some of it because not all of it will make sense for a TV Show. 2- I dont know what you mean by changed the entire meaning of the serious and closed off buildings? you need to explain a bit more. 3- there is 9 Episodes, not 10, Episode 3 is going to be mainly Bill's episode, but Ellie and Joel are still in the episode, its not like its going to be the FULL episode for his character, they are still in it, Episode 3 is 80 minutes long. 4- I personally know alot about the story, and id say they actually improved some stuff over the game, and alot of people said the same thing, they said there are stuff in the show, that they WISHED it was in the game, also some of those things and almost all of those things were ORIGINALLY written for the first game, but they couldnt make it into the game either because of budget or time, that is why its in the show, as they can finally add those things. 5- I just enjoyed the game in general, I really liked the gameplay, the action all of that, I also really like some moments in the game, ofcourse there are moments I dislike or hope it would have done differently, but over all i enjoyed it, TLOU Part 1 is my favorite game ever, I did also enjoy Part 2 but not so much that its my second favorite game, i just enjoyed it. Again the reason I brought up Part 2 is just to tell him that he is not supposed to judge a show before seeing it, and i think thats common sense. Ofcourse I was skeptical about it at first, but knowing everything that i know now, its probably the best Live Action Adaptation.

The show is ok at best…it’s better then any other game to tv adaptation out there BUT when you change the lore change entire characters or even chance there deaths or races (for whatever reason) it’s just annoying and starts to feel like what you played is being rewritten in front of you.
Bill was gay, Ellie is gay, and it shows in the first game. Subtly perhaps, but it's there. And it's not only white characters or males in the game either.. So the mob has no real reason for anything, they just want to control people.

I didn’t hate the series. I thought a lot of it was pretty damn good and well done. BUT I was never that invested because they got Ellie wrong! Bella Ramsey was just such a terrible choice IMHO, as fans of the game naturally expect a female actress that looks at least somewhat like the game character. I am sure I am not alone but we better not speak our opinions eh? Otherwise we are bigots and what not. Ramsey is the furthest version of Ellie they could have chosen… seems like such a weird decision.
I really dont understand how people can be mad over Ellie being lesbian. I do however understand it with Lev, since other than not being accepted for being transgender, there isnt much to come after personality wise. But in the case of Ellie, there is an entire game worth of characterisation to see, and the fact shes in Lgbt community becomes a small detail, that her character isn't defined upon. So come up with a better reason for hating her on.

It's definitely getting worse. I know they're trying to focus on the characters instead of the zombies, but unless you're amazed by Joel and Ellie's relationship there isn't anyone else to be attached to since they either die or disappear by the end of one maybe two episodes tops.

The way that they ruined the story with this "adaptation", I can't help but hope that this series fails. If the people responsible for creating TV shows don't care to actually make shows true to their source material, they deserve to watch them fail since all they seem to care about are woke agendas.

IKR! Finally a genuine criticism of the show. As someone who loves the game and has played it countless times (including the sequel) this series is a travesty and I'm really just watching it now for the occasional thing they get right. I loved the clicker sequence because it reminded me of my first few runs of the game. This show is making me do something that I never have before, and that's listen to the show's "making of" section at the end of each episode. I really am curious about the decisions they made, but hearing their choices just pisses me off more at how much they have distorted the original elements of the game. When Craig Mazin says, "Sarah cried when Joel killed infected, but Ellie LIKES IT when Joel kills for her," I was appalled. Then this most recent episode, Druckmann basically says that they never personified the hunters in the game, who were essentially just an "obstacle" to the player. So all of the notes, artifacts, graffiti, destroyed vehicles, and old war zones that I see in the Pittsburgh section of the game mean nothing to the overall story? Or are they trying to say that the Kansas City QZ's story was never told? If that's the case, why even include the truck ambush if it literally has nothing to do with this community's behavior and practices? So far this show has made a mockery of a game that is pretty damn good. Sorry for the long comment, I have literally had no outlet to voice my opinions on this game as I'm the only one in my friend group who watches it or has played TLOU.

Seriously, you can't tell me they couldn't have found someone who looked more like Ellie if they wanted. And the same goes for Joel for that matter. I can't tell which got the worst casting really, it's like they didn't even try to find people who were close to the original game designs. But the real problem is that they didn't just cast different looking actors, they cast worse looking actors. A sidegrade I could have dealt with, but this casting is all downgrade.
I'd be disappointed, if not for the fact that literally every movie/series/etc ever that was based on a video game has been between somewhere between not all that great and absolutely terrible, so I've long since learned to set my expectations extremely low when it comes to any video game adaptations.
They only got one casting choice right from what I can tell. Marlene and there's a VERY obvious reason for that.

Through 4 episodes, the show is absolutely horrible. I don’t know what character Bella Ramsey is playing but it isn’t Ellie.
The thing about Ellie’s character design is that her classic American girl good looks gave her an immediate sympathy from the fans. Shes adorable and aggressive and a really easy character to believe could be real.
Bella Ramsey brings none of this to the tv show. The casting of both Ellie and Joel were crucial to making this show a success in the eyes of the gamers that love the lore. The fans spoke and were ignored. This is just another woke piece of garbage designed to slip a bitter pill of twisted ideology into a spoon full of the honey we already developed a taste for. I wish they would just make fresh new garbage instead of strangleing our good memories in front of us over and over again.
I think they chose Bella because she's part of the lgbtq crowd. The most important thing about this show was to cast Ellie correctly. Looks matter. Race matters. If it doesn't matter than just cast ellie as Opra or Whoopi Goldberg

I agree, the show rushes important stuff and spends way to much time for things that don't matter. The story of the game is focused on Joel and Ellie's relationship. Everything that happens in the game is either there to grow their relationship and our relationship to the characters, or progress them toward their goal. Everything in the game is necessary. In the show however, they spent full episodes on things that barely have Joel and Ellie together and that serve no purpose. Like Frank and Bill and that lady in the city, they give their stories only to kill them off without having any purpose (A kill with purpose is Henry and Sam for context). We don't feel closer Ellie or Joel, and neither does it move the plot forward. They spend a bunch of time on those things (like Bill and Frank's episode which was nearly a hour! ) and then don't give us time to fully connect with Joel and Ellie. And I think that's why many people still don't like Bella Ramsey as Ellie. She did a fantastic job in the episode with the christian cannibal, maybe if they repurposed that time we could've seen more of Bella's Ellie. In the game, when Marlene told me that Ellie would die, I was right with Joel and saying "HELL NO." In the show I just don't care, and I think that's why many who play the game dislike the show.
You actually address the real problem. That's the problem with that style of marketing. The people who dislike start to realize why no one else seems to feel that way. And we finally see how fake everything really is. There are filters in place that automatically filter negativity.
Also: I *used* to be a vocal queer ally. Things like this are the reason I no longer want to associate with such things. I'd rather just stay out of the politics. TLOU tv series lacks the hightened and significant level of threat the game-world originally established, hardly any infected, runners, and human scumbags who kill people in a street for nothing just to scavenge and take whats not theirs, the violence level is practically non-existent compared to the game so many events lack impact, they rush through some events and bring into focus (*Frank episode*) issues that were barely skimmed over in the game, such a shame, the first feature-length episode of the tv series was pretty good race-swapping Joel's daughter aside, such a shame more things could be done to make this adaption so much better, too many compromises and too little loyalty to the source material, a missed opportunity.
LOU is going TWD route and at this point, I'd be surprised if we get a season 3.
Twd is gold compared to this... until season 5 ep3 then they went to far. Just the barn scene with Shane and the church scene with Rick is better than this will be. Andrew Lincoln was great. And w.o. Twd last of us wouldn't even exist

I personally don't like the show as much as the game . I also never seen the point of the tv show being made anyway as there are free cutscenes from the game on RUclips stitched together for those that are too lazy to use a controller. I tried watching this series and it went from bad to terrible. Very disappointing.
Hated this adaptation after they deviated from a good story. They could've added their own stuff to the original story, but what they added was absolute blasphemy. I was hyped after EP 1, but Disliked everything after that, it didn't seem like I was actually watching TLOU, felt like I was watching a silly TV show. I stopped watching after EP 4.

I liked Henry and Sam in the game - it was a believable pair that someone would encounter if traversing across the country 20 years after a zombie cataclysm. Cannot stand their characters in the show. A deaf kid with leukemia.... but most medical establishments are completely useless.... but somehow with scarce resources they were able to diagnose him.... in a post apocalyptic world where survival of the fittest is paramount to survival of the species. It was absolutely put in for identity politics for some nonsensical reason that doesn't fit the world TLOU is set in. Nothing against the actor, nothing against those with disabilities... but seriously, for a kid born probably 7 to 10 years after the collapse of civilization, who is unable to hear an approach of danger, who is seriously ill... is not going to survive, is not going to be seen as worth saving in a cutthroat society. They did a disservice to the actor, in my opinion, by using him for oppression points. Bella Ramsey's acting is okay, though I'm not sure if she was the right choice for this particular role (if the part had stayed true to the original Ellie), but it seems the trendy gender fluid club among brainwashed youth is the hot ticket right now. People seem to be worshipping her over that more than anything, thinking she can do no wrong.

I also try shows on my own, like recently Wednesday. But after 1 episode I knew it was not to my liking. Same with shows like Reacher.

Honestly TLOU was completely derivative in the first place. Its only truly original concept was the fungal nature of the infection. Otherwise it was just a well-written retreading of established genre tropes and character archetypes, and ones that had already been explored recently by Telltale's The Walking Dead game. TLOU was slightly more of a traditional game than TWD in terms of actual gameplay, but its cinematic artstyle was what really set it apart. There were very understated treatments of certain alternative lifestyles that worked seemlessly with the central surrogate family story of Joel and Ellie's relationship, but the ideology didn't start to fully take over until later with Left Behind DLC.

I thought the show was good. Not great. I think the show could've been better. More zombies, scrap the 90 minute episode 3, and that could've been used more to enhance the growing bond between Joel and Ellie.
Conditioning the audience to stomach the garbage that was part 2 or will be season 2. By changing the very characters themselves and story from part 1. Just stop HBO, I dont want to see the franchise die a second time. Or even worse becoming a unrecognizable walking corpse that follows political agendas.
Changing characters doesnt mean Joels daughter, that wasn't an issue at all. The change Im talking about is how Joel breaks down infront of his brother and asks him to take ellie off his hands after being told that he has a daughter on the way. Why would Joel ask that of his brother while he himself is haunted by the past of losing his daughter in a broken world. That goes against Joels character entirely. Joel is also made out to be a scared character who cannot handle the weight of his current responsibility. Joel in the game was stoic mostly no matter what situation arised, until you bring up his daughter. Yes, in the OG game he was flawed and pushed ellie away from fear of losing another daughter figure. But the HBO "Jo-el" is not the main protagonist from the original game. They are doing all they can to tarnish the name "Last of us" for the fans who remember the series in its former glory when it had a phenomenal cohesive story and characters that all felt genuine and that were not pushed onto the audience for an alternative agenda that completely contradicts and destroys the naughty dogs original LOU narrative.
I can't look at Bella Ramsey without thinking "jaw". Can't do it.

I honestly didn't make it through the second game. I loved the first one so much and really wanted the second one to be great but just meh, didn't enjoy the story or anything. I didn't mind that Ellie was gay, not a big deal, just wasn't thrilled with where they went with the game when compared to the first. As for the show, I don't care who they gay-ify or do a race change on, but when they screw with the story and setting so badly that it's unrecognizable, that's where I draw the line. I can ignore the agendas for the most part if they're not too obtrusive. If it's a black show, there's always going to be a racist white cop or similar authority figure, just as an example. It's almost expected at this point. But why are all of these agendas in a show about surviving in a post-apocalyptic setting? What pronoun you're being addressed by, or anything of that nature, shouldn't be your focus in moments like that.
It feels so good to see people hating on a show before it comes out, saying how awful it's gonna be. And then when the show comes out for it to be excellent and everything we could have ever hoped for. I'm not gonna lie, I kinda feel bad for you... I mean, your experience of The Last of Us has been ruined be you can't just take a breath and move on. While the other half of the fandom is celebrating and having fun (maybe sobbing over having to see Sarah's death again), you're just stuck being angry for the sake of being angry... They've changed the entire meaning of the series and why closed off buildings are dangerous
They've turned an entire plot into tertiary characters that have no impact on the actual plot into main focus for one of the 10 episodes.
And they've said that they have 'improved' the story by doing these things.
You have said you liked the last of us part 2. What part of it did you like? The walking simulator that didn't have violence in it and having you killing Cordyceps? Or was it the violence and action in it that you liked?

1- They did not remove the majority of the violence, they said they removed some of the violence because of some gameplay parts are not good for TV, There is still violence, and even the people who watched some of the episodes and i know some of my friends who did, said that violence is still there, just not as much as the game, and that makes sense because while the game big part is its great story, it is also considered a game so they have gameplay, but they removed some of it because not all of it will make sense for a TV Show.

3- there is 9 Episodes, not 10, Episode 3 is going to be mainly Bill's episode, but Ellie and Joel are still in the episode, its not like its going to be the FULL episode for his character, they are still in it, Episode 3 is 80 minutes long.
4- I personally know alot about the story, and id say they actually improved some stuff over the game, and alot of people said the same thing, they said there are stuff in the show, that they WISHED it was in the game, also some of those things and almost all of those things were ORIGINALLY written for the first game, but they couldnt make it into the game either because of budget or time, that is why its in the show, as they can finally add those things.
5- I just enjoyed the game in general, I really liked the gameplay, the action all of that, I also really like some moments in the game, ofcourse there are moments I dislike or hope it would have done differently, but over all i enjoyed it, TLOU Part 1 is my favorite game ever, I did also enjoy Part 2 but not so much that its my second favorite game, i just enjoyed it.
Again the reason I brought up Part 2 is just to tell him that he is not supposed to judge a show before seeing it, and i think thats common sense. Ofcourse I was skeptical about it at first, but knowing everything that i know now, its probably the best Live Action Adaptation.

The show is ok at best…it’s better then any other game to tv adaptation out there BUT when you change the lore change entire characters or even chance there deaths or races (for whatever reason) it’s just annoying and starts to feel like what you played is being rewritten in front of you.
Honestly, show sucks. The story of the game was not original but was actually a ripped off, re telling of the road, but with fungal zombies.

I didn’t hate the series. I thought a lot of it was pretty damn good and well done. BUT I was never that invested because they got Ellie wrong! Bella Ramsey was just such a terrible choice IMHO, as fans of the game naturally expect a female actress that looks at least somewhat like the game character. I am sure I am not alone but we better not speak our opinions eh? Otherwise we are bigots and what not. Ramsey is the furthest version of Ellie they could have chosen… seems like such a weird decision.

I really dont understand how people can be mad over Ellie being lesbian. I do however understand it with Lev, since other than not being accepted for being transgender, there isnt much to come after personality wise. But in the case of Ellie, there is an entire game worth of characterisation to see, and the fact shes in Lgbt community becomes a small detail, that her character isn't defined upon. So come up with a better reason for hating her on.
