It depends. From a certain point of view it is hilarious. But You have to remember, that he runs a delership with sports cars. He buys a car, drives it on a trip and after that sell it. It almoust like renting a car to him.
I think the pista was his special “secret” car that he had for these trips that he’s now selling, I don’t think he bought it just for the most recent teip
Ferraris also seem to ignore depreciation... As far as I've heard they stay around their listed value or just go up as long as you don't put too many miles on them

The green is not that bad, Sam. I would keep it until I get sick of it (which would happen eventually), then take it off and enjoy the beautiful carbon black. I had a 5-series Touring that color that looked awesome.
I really like the green, the wheels may need to be a shade darker. I love silver wheels but not sure they work with that spec car. Leave it, I think it’ll grow on you Sam 👍
That green isn’t too offensive on your X3..perhaps give it a chance.. it might grow on you.. Intrigued to see how Tony rates the STO vs a Pista, plus the STO is RWD unlike his previous Performante which was AWD. Great video as always!
Green on the X3 doesn't look too bright but for me wrapping that car is kinda silly. It sounds like it will look great in the standard carbon black/blue with the tan leather, and if you want to protect the paint just get it PPF'd. Appreciate that if there was some product placement involved then getting it wrapped would be a thing but as you said it won't appear on the channel I presume that's not the case here. I seem to remember when the lengthy process of next daily started and Sam gave his criteria whilst looking at the new Defender, I posted back then that the only car on his list that truly met his criteria was another X3! I once went out to buy a sensible cheap estate car to use as a daily so the sports car could be a weekend toy, and came back with a Jaguar XJ6 (XJ40) 4 litre Sport !
Hey Guys, Love your podcast and always watch it on RUclips. I have to take issue with the ongoing criticism of the SLK55 AMG (mainly by Tony). In this podcast at the 33.40 point you reference it as a low point in F1 pace cars. Firstly , it has to achieve specific performance targets to be allowed to act as the pace car for F1 and secondly, how amazing that a sports car at sub 911 money was deemed sufficiently fast without major mods to take on this very specialised role. I am a happy owner of an SLK 55 AMG and feel that this car has undeservedly been maligned since it’s introduction in 05. If it was so ropey, why did a certain Mr Jeremy Clarkson buy one prior to his ownership of his first Black series. The answer in print was he thought that it was one of the most fun cars that he drove on Top Gear in 2004 (see Fight Club for the actual video on RUclips). Sam if you ever fancy trying out a 2005 SLK 55, you are welcome to try mine.

Tony, if u guys think a STO is too special purpose, what do you think of the performante relative to the sto? i am debating bwtween evo and perf. Staying off STO because i dont want to risk losing a ton of $$. Perf is older but more raw, evo awd is newer and cheaper in the US. I owned perf coupe before but didnt like the visibility, like everything else about it. Pista and speciale is priced a lot higher here in the US than UK, makes little sense now to own them vs the 458 at less than half the price. But with your recommendation (vs f8/488) I will start to pay attention and perhaps grab one up in a couple of years (was never into turbo cars)
Most of us knew from the first film that the Audi was never going to be more than a holiday romance matey. I told you several times the X3 was a great vehicle for you.
PLEASE SAM, consider a brand new Macan GTS. It’s absolutely incredible as a daily driver. It has done everything that your X3M40i has done but better, it has more personality, it’s faster, quicker, louder, more comfortable, and it’s a Porsche. It would be a great hauler.

Good choice on the M40d. I also went from a X3 M40i to a M40d LCI on 1st June after waiting 9 months for the build. Loving the range and 700nm 👍

Andermatt to the Como ferry for Bellagio is not an hours journey - closer to 2 hrs (even in supercars) especially in the weather you mentioned.

Can’t be too dissimilar to the previous X3 in MPG. Not enough to be a huge worry anyway.

Chamonix is very much in France. I live there! Be careful in the tunnel though, it’s a huge fine and confiscation of the vehicle if you speed.
Personally would love to see a vid on the X3, almost more interesting to me than the supercars! Do a sound system test too if you got the HK.
