Info like this should have been taught in high school
The corporation’s wants the next generation dumb from simple car maintenance home Diy to even dumbing down your computer operating system
All parents today want their kids to go to college so they can become CEO one day. LOL! I've suggested trade school to tons of young people.
@@gregsettle9725 that’s very true even the most lazy plumber or electrician will not have a problem finding work was talking to a plumber in London he charges just under a 100 pounds an hour.
This channel deserved much more than 897.000 subscribers in my opinion.
Thanks for that! I hope I can hit a million!
@@chrisnotap You will hit a million, that is one thing for sure. You certainly deserve it!
Thanks for another manly education video! My dad died when I was 12 so I never got to Learn any fix it do it yourself stuff from him. And school sucks... they don’t teach you any useful crap. Love this channel!
Sorry about your dad. Keep going and learn as much as you can!
Sometimes the best advice when confronted with a problem is to remain calm and think about all possible fixes you can do. The more experience you get with fixing stuff, the more choices you can come up with. Be creative. Even with little experience, you can come up with at least three possibilities. Typically choose the one that will have the longest lasting fix. Remember the quickest fix is not usually the best.
@@twinwankel Well said. Wen I'm learning new things, especially when it comes to hands on stuff, when you get stuck, frustrated or lost, it is always best to take a step or two back look at the project from a wider view, take a few deep breaths and sometimes reorganize your thoughts and process.
I lost my dad fairly young too, fortunately, he was able to instill good work ethic but from masonry, to roofing, to drywall, I am all self taught and I learned it all through that process.
Also, I know this is a saying that is fairly common now, but when I was young, the only place I ever heard it was from my father and it has always stuck with me and is always true, "work smarter, not harder"
Best channel on RUclips.
Wow! Thanks for that!
Thank you so much. I had a leaking value and I thought I was going to have to replace it, but just needed to tighten it. You save me a big headache. THANK YOU!
As a 15 yo girl i can say I really appreciate the content. Idk it’s really good and straight to the point. I don’t even fix things or anything but I find your channel ingenious and somewhat mesmerizing. I subscribed
Wow! Thanks for that and the great feed back!!
I seriously find your videos so helpful and interesting. Thank you for all your tips, tricks, and everything in between!!!

Just in the right time. I was needing this.
Thank you, thank you! I've been putting off doing this for years, because I just knew I would do something wrong. Will do this week! 🥳

@@chrisnotap Whenever I see a video come up by you, I know I will learn something new and it won't be difficult, then I can't wait to open it. It's like a gift every time! Thank you! 🎉
@@chrisnotap just fixed my front faucet 💕
simple quick fix. Thanks.
Looks like a Home Hardware. I guess you are Canadian ? Love finding new Canadian content on construction and reno tips. Dust collection videos brought me here.
Yes I am Canadian.
@@chrisnotap awesome. Appreciate the response too. You have some really neat content. I just got a shop set up for the first time in my life (finally) but low on space and funds atm so going to HD or HH today to grab the parts for your dust collection idea.
Really informative. Thanks!
Thanks, short and sweet and just what I needed!
Way cool! Wish I'd been able to see this last month or before spending over $100. Oh well, I'll know for future use! 😄
Good video. I think you should have had the viewer also purchase a tube of silicone plumbers grease as well then show how to use it on on new rubber seal, threads, packing, etc.
Nice video! Suggest using silicone spray rather then WD-40. WD-40 can degrade some rubber and plastic items whereas silicone is safer to use for lubrication purposes.
Good tip , thanks for sharing , God bless !
Thanks!!
Hope you reach 1 Millon in thenext year or month youre very helpful
Very good thanks
Excellent.
You are my favourite RUclipsr :-) !
Thank you, Chris!
Great videos!
Chris Notap becomes Chris NoLeak or Chris Yestap. Don’t get up, I’ll let myself out…
Thanks Chris
Great video as always Chris! Thanks!
Your a GOD
Bonjour. Très bonne vidéo. Merci
Thanks very helpful an good to know.
Great video.
So I just recognized a fellow Canadian by the fact that you have Robertson screws..... Hi!
Oh Yes!! The good old robertson screw!!
This is so helpful. I had a handyman come and he just put a cap on it. Did not fix it. Lacking good people to hire in my area.
Hire a plumber to fix plumbing.
Amazing as always Chris !
Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing video👌 Keep it up 🙂
Love your videos :D
Thank you so much! This was very helpful. 👍
You're welcome!
Good job, sir.✔️
Thanks
So disappointed that you did not fix this with a soda bottle. Now seriously thanks for your videos Sir.
Lol! I do like pop bottles!
Hi Chris, My bathroom valve under the vanity sink leaks around the stem when the valve is opened to allow water to flow into the sink. It's tightened right up to the max but still leaks. Have you repacked a stem to save removing the whole water shut-off? Thanks
They are all not this easy! But this was helpful for those who don't know.
aye bro you should do smoking dabs for 30 days 👍👍👍👍👍👍🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙😊😊
All very well if the valve seat is OK but they can be recut fairly easily.
00:55 Ceramics crane-axle box with silicone gasket, almost eternal and worth a penny.
remember the what smoking vs vaping does to your lungs well can you can you do essential oil pen diffuser
All is easy until the screw head is too corroded to turn or the stem is frozen into position. To head this off, check both about once a year. Replace the screw before it gets too bad. Opening and closing the valve periodically will reduce the chance of it freezing up.
You’re Canadian? Looked like a home hardware…I have to do this to my faucet, thanks!
Good eye! Yes, HomeHardware.
Hi, Mr. Chris I want to change the faucet in my bathroom sink do you have a video.
I don't at this point. I'll add it to my list.
Well, here in the video they just show how to change the sealing gasket, while it is already ready-made purchased in the store. If only they cut it out. I had a case, a crane leaked on an irrigation pipe, we don't have such gaskets in the store, I made it myself from an unusable chamber for trucks.
WD-40 deteriorates rubber. Would use silicone spray or even water instead of WD-40 on rubber.
If that's a Sensus Accustream water meter (which I'm fairly certain it is) they have a handy trick. If you open the cover/lid then close it and open it again while the water is running, it will give you a live gallons per minute reading.
That’s interesting. I’ll try that.
👍
I move way too much and see a lot of leaky faucets. Now when I see one, I convert the faucet to a quarter-turn ball valve faucet. And then I'll put a quarter turn plastic ball valve hose end adapter on the brass ball valve. Why? Because at small openings (like a trickle), brass can quickly erode from the high pressure low flow and wear out. Plastic does not erode like that.
I find if i just loosen the packing nut and retighten it works best
duuuh
What if you can't get any of the parts off?
😄серьёзно?!!! Я знал как поменять прокладку в кране до того, как узнал сколько будет корень квадратный из 4. Интересно, сколько наберёт это видео?!🤔
Just as I suspected! Rubber is the culprit again.
But in Britain we would say
Chris *_no tap_* ;-;
Ive heard that my valve screws into valve in wall. Have you heard of this?
Yes. There are some that do.
I ended up replacing the whole tap
What if the packing doesn’t help? Replace the unit?
You can go to your hardware store and buy the packing also.
@@chrisnotap That's the one thing I wish you would have shown, replacing the packing as well. Good for what it was, though.
All this is more life viital than anything before and at highschool level.
Did you stop making content, id love to see more sir
I've taken a well deserved break and will be back soon. Thanks for asking!
The best outdoor valves at the hardware store are now “ball” valves and do not require any rubber washers, packing, or maintenance…. So unfortunately I think your comment is misleading. Also, why not just show replacing the packing to make this video complete? Many other videos of this type also note or demonstrate a freeze proof type valve which is a little different. Last… I’ve never seen an example of where a threaded valve is soldered on to a pipe… This does not seem to be a great idea… and of course she would never recommend that anybody use this type of valve with that type of pipe… so I am surprised it was not noted.
Canadian screws with square Robertson heads. Next you'll be showing us how to pour milk from a plastic bag.
Ouch. Robertsons are the bomb here in Canada!
Plug the spout with a rubber plug. Stop buying from the enemies
This is cheaper than buying a plug!!
Ok RUclips recommendations what are you trying to tell me?
Well I can fix my ta.. I mean faucet easily.
Du kannst aber auch gleich ein Kugelhahn anbauen ....
The old rubber washer isn't even similar to the new one.
Thanks for the tip though.
I have found you can use the tapered ones or the flat ones. They both work.
@@chrisnotap That's good to know. Thanks for the reply :)
You put the wrong washer in it, it called for a flat washer and you replaced it with a beveled washer, everything else is correct folks just make sure to replace with the right washer
Both the bevelled and flat washers will work. But yes, try to replace it with what it had.
can u send me some cigarattes
Why?
Can you do a smoking vid on marijuana
You didn’t address a leaking packing nut.
Never mind.
