Life of Agony is so underrated... Through and through RAWKS!!!!!!~ I never heard this song but I like the Gothy tone to the guitars in the chorus.

LOA one of my favourite bands ever!!! River Runs Red album, omg it’s a classic.
What a life the singer has had. Vin, Il let you look them up but it’s one of the most extraordinary journeys a person can have. Peace be upon them xx

Life of Agony! Great band, the album this song is in (Ugly) was definitely in my highschool soundtrack. my fav songs on it are "Lets pretend" and " other side of the river" great songs if you guys ever consider doing more reviews on them

Take it literally. It's written by the bass player and what he went through when his girlfriend got cancer.

I came across your post today. I was diagnosed with cancer last year and heard this song months ago after never having paid attention to the lyrics. My husband lost 60 lbs since I've been diagnosed and my husband feels this song deeply. It really defines the feeling of dread constantly waiting for tests and to finally have cancer take you. The feeling is awful. I know your post is from a years ago but wanted to comment anyways.

AMAZING that you did this song, I never thought anyone would do a reaction to their songs. This song is one of my favorites of theirs from their second album from 1998. You should try "River runs red" and "This time" from the first record. They also have a realy awesome version of the 80s pop classic "Don't you forget about me" ;)

LOA is a hardcore band from Brooklyn. Their first album was very heavy, their 2nd album (which this song is from) is much mellower but very deep lyrically. It's a phenomenal album worth listening to. I hope you do more of them. Their 3rd album was OK, but not nearly as good as the 1st 2. The lead singer is Keith Caputo, who now goes by Mina and is trans.

They come from the NYHC era but aren't really a Hard Core band. They used to tour with Biohazard, Pro Pain, Spud monsters etc etc so got labelled as NYHC. I'd call 'em more groove metal.

Three words... River runs red... Vin, I think you would relate to the songs on that album more than anything. LOA was from Brooklyn and being you were raised in a mostly urban environment, the whole groove and feeling of the songs on that album will probably seriously resonate with you especially. This was the soundtrack of teen/ early twenty year olds who didn't necessarily have a good home life, felt alienated or didn't belong. I was 20 when this came out and 26 years later it still resonates with me.

I’m calling it right now Vin, your first 12/10 lyrical song will be “It’s Alright Ma, I’m Only Bleeding”- Bob Dylan. Those lyrics are so dense and impactful, you could (and most likely will) spend at least an hour on them if you review it.

Sound doesn't do this justice at all. "This cancer is killing me as much as it's killing you". It's the turmoil he's going through knowing he's going to lose the most important person in his life.
