The first bees that I was able to overwinter came from a cherry tree branch that was cut in the winter and put in a burn pile. The pile never got lit, the bees were alive in the spring when I heard about them,so I brought the branch home and did a cutout.... Good luck, be sure to give an update when the weather warms enough...
