Thanks so much. It feel really accomplished after finishing. It was really difficult to do but worth it. all the excerise made it easier to reward myself with a little ice cream along the way.
You should definitely visit this place if you ever have the chance. It's the most scenic and beautiful bike route I've ever done. I recommend doing it in a slightly cooler month though
Hello hope all is well and we hope your Butt Muscles are feeling better haha. Nice ride and great drone footage Hakata beach look great. but salty Icecream, not my kinda ice cream, . WOW love the dolphins until next time . Stay safe Love and Light Sarah and Glenn,
This is by far the best cycling route in Japan and would highly recommend it. It's difficult but also family friendly. The views along the trail are truly incredible!
Leah! This is awesome! As usual, we love your adventures in Japan! Thank you so much for sharing!!! Ice cream was a great treat! Mermaid is HILAIROUS! That bridge looked insane!!! Congratulations on FINISHING!
It was definitely a difficult route but so worth it for the views alone! Apparently the islands are also famous for citrus not just salt so next time I will have to try citrus ice cream
yeah, I realized shortly after finishing the first day that I didn't film as much for the second day. Probably because I had made friends along the way and did less talking to a camera lol
There wereN7t too many hills but when your muscles are really fatigued the slightest of incline becomes a mountain. In total I climbed the equivalent of 257 flights of stairs
Thanks for taking is along your trip! I’m aiming to do this bike route in a couple of years, so there’s still a bit of time to prepare ;). It seems you started out solo, which is also how I intend to take the trip and I’m super interested how you did it! - did you book your stopover hotel ahead of time, and how far ahead? If I’m not mistaken you stopped at Omishima? - how do you compare taking the trip solo (day 1) and being in a group (day 2)? Thanks for any insights! Looking forward to the rest of your videos :)
thanks so much for your great comment. I'm happy to answer any questions. I booked my stop over hotel about a month or a little more in advance since good places tend to fill up quickly. The hotel I stayed at was a good halfway point along the trail. I believe it was the fourth island so I only had two more islands to bike on the second day. I enjoyed biking alone my first day, though I did a lot of talking to myself lol. It was nice to enjoy nature and get lost in my own thoughts, however, being able to share the experience with other people was really nice, too. I had more fun when I could laugh and have people to celebrate with at the end of the ride. Though I'm a slow rider so It was difficult to stay together throughout the whole trail. I hope this information helps.
Hi Leah, congratulations on the great video and amazing experience! What time of the year did you do it? We are planning to visit Japan this October and tinking about adding this to our itinerary...
Thank you. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed the video. I believe I did the route in November. The weather at that time was perfect, though the weather will probably be similarly nice in October.
It was definitely quite difficult but going downhill was amazing. Plus the incredible views along the route distract you from the pain. I think anyonwe could do this route if given 2 or three days. I saw young kids attempted it.
Hello from Gunma - I just found your channel :) Hope I'll get to go to the Shimanami Kaido sometime this year! Will you be doing more bike trips in Japan?
Welcome to my channel! I hope you can do the Shimanami Kaido route, too. I recommend going before it gets too hot outside so maybe some time in spring is best. I hope to do more cycling in Japan but there is just so much to do lol.
The ride was so amazing and even more amazing with good travel companions. The sights were honestly incredible. The ride feels a lot less challenging when you are distracted by beautiful scenery lol
Leah! can I ask you a question? Once you rent a bike in Onomichi station after you finished cycle route at Ehime, you get back at Onomichi one more time to return bike? And did you use any app to book a hotel? btw thanks for sharing your experience to us!
Of course! There are bike rental/return shops at several locations along the bike trail in case you get tired or no longer wish to bike anymore. If you rent your bike in Onomichi you do not have to return your bike to the same shop from which you rented it. You can simply return your bike to the bike rental shop on the other side of the trail in Imabari. However, you will lose your deposit this way (though I don't think this is a big deal because it would cost you more to get the bike all the way back anyway). I always use agoda.com when booking hotels but you can use any hotel booking site I hope this helps :). If you have another questions, please feel free to ask
I love cycling. You pretty much enjoyed your day in this beautiful place of Japan. Your friends looks like filipinos. Are they? I nver witness dolphins and that's one of my wishlists as I really love them.
Bikes, dolphins, mermaids, mountains, drones and so much more!!! What a day and what a ride!!! Thanks for sharing this and keep up the good work!!!

Beautiful Japan. Would love to visit this place next time. Thanks for sharing. Great footage, professionally done. 😀
You should definitely visit this place if you ever have the chance. It's the most scenic and beautiful bike route I've ever done. I recommend doing it in a slightly cooler month though

It was great to be out there cycling along the route. the views were incredible and i I met such great people along the way.
Hello hope all is well and we hope your Butt Muscles are feeling better haha. Nice ride and great drone footage Hakata beach look great. but salty Icecream, not my kinda ice cream, . WOW love the dolphins until next time . Stay safe Love and Light Sarah and Glenn,
Salty ice cream may not sound appetizing but it strangely works. It makes the ice cream taste a little sweeter. I recommend trying it at least once.
You are so full of energy. I love your video.
Thanks for the extra support. Sometimes I'm not sure where I get all that energy from but I definietly passed out as soon as I got to my hotel.
Beautiful! Such an awesome ride!
It was a challenging ride, too. But certainly worth it. the views were incredible along the trail
The views are so amazing!!!! Great job one more time 😊❤️👏
Thanks so much. The second day was so much harder than the first to complete because my muscles were so sore.
Great video! Cycling is so much of fun! That's bridge is really long 😲
Cycling is so much fun! especially when your with fun people and the route has beautiful views
Thanks. Very cool. Safe travels. Rest up.
I really needed a rest after that. It was so challengeing but I'm proud I completed it.
I would love to do that and the dolphin shots were awesome. I'm a new sub. Thanks for sharing the ride. Now it's time to relax.
Thank you for subbing. Dolphins are so cute. I spent maybe way too much time watching them
ahh! totally know the feeling of having a sore butt after a long bike ride lol! But the views seem SOOO worth it!
the views were a welcomed distraction from my sore body lol
We love Japan! Never considered cycling but maybe we should 🧡
This is by far the best cycling route in Japan and would highly recommend it. It's difficult but also family friendly. The views along the trail are truly incredible!
wow!! Japan is beautiful we would love to go there!!! we love the vlog :D
Please visit! I've lived here for a few years and I'm always finding new places to go and things to do
It is so pretty! Btw. your energy is awesome!!
It was hard to keep up good energy for the camera since I was so exhausted but the excitement is still real. the incredible views kept me going.
Ahhh the old butt pain from a bike seat! I know it well. Looks like you saw so much in a day. I miss bike touring! Great work!
if you like bike touring you should definitely try out this route in Japan! It's so worth it!
@@leahbell15 I was supposed to be in that area about one year ago today. The world had other plans! Definitely plan to go back when I can!
wow nice ride and amazing view ❤️
The views were truly incredible. It made the ride so much easier.

How rewarding is that? Burning is all worth it in the end 👍😁👍
All the sore muscles were worth it for the feeling of accomplishment. But also the views along the way were incredible.
Wow, you weren't kidding when you said that part 2 would be very soon.
yeah, I realized shortly after finishing the first day that I didn't film as much for the second day. Probably because I had made friends along the way and did less talking to a camera lol
That looks like such an epic ride! Good for you finishing it! Was it a lot of hills?
There wereN7t too many hills but when your muscles are really fatigued the slightest of incline becomes a mountain. In total I climbed the equivalent of 257 flights of stairs

Was that your drone footage? Love the idea of being with dolphins 🐬 have subbed, 👍 and 🔔
I probably would have made it to imabari if I hadn't stopped to watch the dolphins for so long. They wre just too cute
@@leahbell15 you could have made hours of footage on them 🐬🐬🐬
Nice bike ride. I don't think I could do those hills.
