Very scary- my claustrophobia was through the roof for those few scenes. So glad this story ends with woody being okay/ an extremely dangerous and unforgiving sport cave diving is. Be careful boys- we dont want to lose you.

Two things I know will occur because of these two stellar individuals.
Accountability and education, regardless of what occurred.
From what I've seen, cave diving is all about diving to put your toe out over the line of extreme, and sometimes your best isn't enough no matter how much planning and experience there is.
I look forward to you both recovering and sharing what occurred, and by being your honest and accountable selves, educating others to save a life.
Ah man. Not like this….. WTH? This is not the Christmas dive I hoped to see. Just hoping for a well and happy ending. Prayers to you both guys. You’re my hero’s!!

What was the medical emergency??? I could see he was stuck. Now I’m scared. I was worried about Gus because his equipment was failing before and was waiting for a video. Now I’m worried about Woody. Don’t leave us hanging long!

He got bent
I was so stressed even before we were told "things got worse". I hope Woody will be well, and everything gets back to normal. My heart is with you both. Only discovered Dive Talk about a year ago, but I have become rather attached to the two of you. Good luck.

Its seems funny that us as viewers get attatched to you as youtubers, but I myself have become extremely fond of watching the two of you. Probably because I really admire the friendship the two of you have with each other. I started feeling anxious watching you trying to get through that extremely small opening, then when i could see Woody was stuck and at one point in the video you could see it in his eyes that he was scared. Then you show us him on a medical flight i started crying and you left us hanging on if he is ok or not? I know someone uploaded the video but we dont know in what condition Woody is in. Yeah that’s… not cool at all. I know they had the community page post or whatever, but that was like six hours after the video uploaded. Six hours where a lot of people obviously experienced undo stress, anxiety, sadness, worry, etc. based on most comments here. During the holidays too…

I feel like since we see Woody awake and and not in much distress on the plane, I'm going to venture this was an equipment malfuntion, possibly due to a valve or whatnot being damaged in that restriction? Maybe he got some water in his lungs, which can be dangerous and can even cause secondary drowning later and no where near the water. That's my best guess, but only that, a guess.
Regardless, I'm wishing Woody a speedy recovery, and I'm just so thankful to know you BOTH made it out alive! Be well, be safe! 🥰

Man takes some guts to go through those tight spaces. I could never do that and stay calm. Seemed like woody was calm and moving while being checked so I'm not too worried. Looking forward to a debrief on what happened.

Its just not worth it.I did a few silly things in my time, I got lucky. My dad was a sheriff diver in the 70’s and 80’s it was not uncommon in those days to do a 200-250ft recovery dive on the floating bridge with regular air. One time one of the divers got bent and before they got him to the dock a helicopter was there and flew him to a deco chamber all within an hour. A far cry from what Woody went through! This was in Seattle who knew they even had a chamber in those days.

It's what the channel is about. Learning what can happen cave diving, and how to avoid it. It's a shame this happened, but it'll provide a first-hand experience of what can go wrong. I'm also betting the dive planning and briefing played a big part in the outcome.

Yikes. Super relieved to hear Woody's discharged and doing fine. From the looks of it, things must've escalated pretty quickly. Anyone with any knowledge of rebreathers care to speculate? CO2 hit from the scrubber being jostled around maybe (if that's even a thing that can happen)? Or something else entirely that necessitated an emergency ascent? Echoing what others have said-there are way more important things, especially this time of year, but please don't keep us waiting too long, if you can help it! Hopefully you both got to spend the holidays with your loved ones, if not, prioritize that first.
The sorb can settle and you can get channeling but I don't think you would end up medivaced to a chamber. My guess is got bent.
@@telmnstr Yeah, my (shaky and ill-informed) hypothesis was CO2 hit + other things perhaps going wrong = emergency ascent = the bends. I'm sure the follow-up video will have a lot to teach me! Just glad Woody's doing OK either way
