So what is Luis Rivera gaining from implicating his friend and not the Adelsons? Wouldn't they have more arguments if Rivera in his confession implicated the Adelsons? I can't see how Katie is not involved? Why would they be calling each other and talking in code if they had nothing to do with this murder. There is no direct link between Luis and the Adelsons.... Their lawyers would make easy work of that "implication".
Kattie, however, is a different story. She has the connection to the Adelsons. I believe the enhanced restaurant recording will lead to an indictment of Charlie.
So, I really didn't miss any point. Luis had to flip on someone to avoid a death penalty. I didn't address the OP's speculation of Luis flipping on Charlie or "the woman" because it's ridiculous.

Kick ass closing. I think he showed everything the Government wanted hidden. She was more than likely involved but I couldn't say with a reasonable doubt that she was. I worked in many bars. My good nights were anywhere from $500-$1500. I pulled in $250-$500 just on a regular Friday or Sat. If we had events it was usually a min of $1000. Monthly I deposited approximately $5000 in tips. I was honest and claimed my tips. The entire bar had too or you can bet we all would have been audited.

Why not just say some random person out of the blue mentions our names can you call the number and find out what it's about? If she didn't know anything how could her giving the father of her children a telephone number be misconstrued by the people around her. No it was coded for the benefit of anyone listening to her calls, not those around her that might over hear. "She hates that she swore and won't spell out swear words". Really? @@gabrielamartiniuc6322 Two huge errors are the reason an innocent girl is on trial; tainted wire taps and restaurant recording and a star witness (Luis Rivera) who only testified to Katherine's involvement after hearing law enforcement's theories
Law enforcement had their theories, Luis embraced them with open arms, changed his story to suit and the Prosecution ran with it. In effect a severe case of confirmation bias, which spilled over into the interpretation of the wire taps
Remember, if Luis is telling us a pack of lies (and he is), then Katie is not involved
From the car hire to the phone call from the car after the shooting to seeing Wendi walking with her kids to the muddled money drop story, you knew it was all made up
Luis was the one solicited ... Charlie asks his drug dealer if he knows a hitman, word goes out, Luis puts his hand up

@@gabrielamartiniuc6322 We cannot and must not look to the wire taps and restaurant recording for the truth. They were tainted from the very beginning when the Undercover mentioned Katie's name (twice) to Donna Adelson, when handing her the note during the "bump"
Charlie made Katherine (and everyone else) look guilty with his calls, covert ops and secret meetings. He was desperate to discover who was behind the note, whether associates of his hitman were extorting more money from him or law enforcement were onto him. Katie was basically collateral damage - he knew he could use her as a sounding board without her knowing anything
Katie innocent is a given. I don't struggle with that anymore as I did when I first started following the case 2 1/2 years ago. With that in mind it is a good idea to take a look at what is going through Charlie's mind in the days after the bump ...
... "This has something to do with Katie, but what? The guy deliberately mentioned her name to mom - what does that mean?
"Is this about the murder or something else entirely? If it's about the murder why is Katie mentioned? Is she associated with my hitman by some chance, maybe through her ex, because he was mentioned also? How does this guy know or know of Katie?
"What has Katie got to do with anything? How have I been helping her, what does that mean?"
He has a lot of questions to answer and the only way he's going to even begin answering them is by phoning her, probing, using and manipulating her
What law enforcement have in effect done in mentioning Katie's name in first contact with Donna Adelson is (accidentally) framed Katie for the murder. Combine this with Luis' false testimony and the tunnel vision of Georgia Cappleman, lead Prosecutor and you have a recipe for a wrongful conviction. Poor Katie, 6 years in prison for something she had nothing to do with - she's living everyone's worst nightmare
