is this not compatible with some mods? I tried applying the patch and the command patch tells me the source file is incorrect. I already have a few mods like a japanese undub and custom icons on the dt kh1_first/second etc. Is there any way to fix that? should i just delete the mods?
@Eric-lq4cq you need to reverify your kh1.5+2.5 game files in steam to get the clean game data, and then you can run the patcher to get a downgraded copy of the game files for 1.0.0.8 mods. the downgraded files will only work with mods made for 1.0.0.8, so stuff made / last updated before June 2024.
@sora654able1 if you're talking about the controls being wonky after critical mix is installed, that's intentional because the game is sped up pretty drastically compared to the base game. you can try poking around in the main lua file in the scripts folder if you wanna try tweaking it but it's probably best to try to get used to it. if the issue is with vanilla 1.0.0.8, you can add that "KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX.exe" to Steam as a non-Steam game to use Steam Input for controller handling
i followed every step but mine still says final mix on the title screen not critical mix plus. it seems to somewhat work but every time i try to move with my controller it acts like im also moving the D-Pad and swaps me off of my attack command. any ideas why that might be happening?
Ok I had the same issue as well the way I fixed it was to not use the most recent version of KHpcpatchmanger and use v 1.2.0 instead then it should give you a prompt to drop the en folder into the command prompt then try running it again. If it still doesn’t show up then go into image,en, and then backup. Take those files in backup and replaces the ones that were already in en. Then you should be able to see Critical Mix plus on the title screen. For the controller I am still trying to figure out how that works.
I have repeated the first part of the video to downgrade the game over 5 times and KH1 still will not open. Is there something I am doing wrong?? I am following the video completely accurately and no matter what I do, the exe for KH1 will not open the game. It just closes itself immediately. Also, during the step in which you have to extract patch dot zip into the xDelta forder, it does not ask me at all if I want to replace any files. It just extracts the files into that folder as if there was nothing in there already. I don't know if there is some kind of error with the patch zip or if that's what's causing the game to not open, but I noticed that it would not ask me to replace any files at all.
Once again I have attempted to downgrade for a 6th and 7th time and the KH1 exe still won't open. I've ran the file that blocks the exe files in the firewall as admin, I have every file from both zips, I have extracted everything to it's proper folder and still nothing.
@@LawkerMawker This version of the game had a lot of issues with crashing on startup, usually having to do with GPU stuff or programs that hook into the game's graphics. Check the Critical Mix channel in Xendra's discord for some tips with troubleshooting.
i tried doing this with a clean slate and i deleted KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX from my documents. kh doesnt launch now even after i reinstall. is there a way to get this folder back?
when dragging the KHCMix file onto the KHPCPatchManager it automatically starts, i dont get a chance to drag the en file onto the KHPCPatchManager, is that normal or does it already knows where the en folder is? The game loads into base game
@G1yph_cube i don't think it would, the technical reason is because the .vcdiff files that the patcher uses are the differences between specifically the current steam version and EGS 1.0.0.8.
I mean why not just make it work with the current version this is way too much of a hassle "hey look at me I made an awesome mod that no one can except me cause I'm too lazy to fix whatever the update broke"...what a joke smh fix it for the current version you psycho nobody wants to do all this crap
Hi, I've tried to get this running 3x already, the moment I go to launch FINAL MIX dot exe I end up with it popping up and nothing happening after it immediately closes. I'm on Windows 11, is there something I'm doing wrong
Are you trying to launch vanilla 1.0.0.8 to test, or Critical Mix? If you're having issues with Critical Mix, you can try dragging the .pkg and .hed files in Image/en/backup into Image/en to go back to 1.0.0.8 vanilla and try patching it again. Make sure the resources folder is present, too. If you're trying to test vanilla 1.0.0.8, make sure the .exe files are blocked in your firewall, and that you are using all of the files included in the "1.0.0.8 files" zip
@izzybells9991 Was trying to get vanilla to launch, still nothing. Would it have anything to do with having a previously modded installation of Steam KH1?
@SerenaLovehart I recommend verifying your game files in Steam and then trying this again. If it still doesn't work, it could be a lot of things because this version of the game was very unstable. Looking up "kh1.5+2.5 crash" or "kh1fm crash" on reddit brings up a lot of solutions from changing folder permissions to disabling certain settings in the NVidia Graphics control Panel. I recommend making this folder outside of your Windows user folder or anything else that could have permission issues.
@@izzybells9991Unfortunately the problem with that is I have an AMD card and I've heard they have problems with the EGS versions so hopefully I'm not fucked I do have it installed in a folder that's on my root C drive for Steam so I'm not sure what to do
