Congrats!!! I’d like to make it to my retirement as well, but it’s also tempting to separate and go back to the civilian world of possibilities. I’m in my first enlistment of six years. Wish you the best in your new life.
I subscribed after the Smoky insertion lol I’m active Air Force just got told I’m getting med boarded. Extremely glad I got my BA degree before joining so that relieves a little of the anxiety. I look forward to taking notes from your channel, thanks 🙏🏾
I just saw your video for the first time and heard that you just recently retired. You sound so humble and sweet. I hope you have a lot of success in your new career with your new life ... and that your body remains strong 💪 for many years so that you can continue to achieve your dream and enjoy your existence.😉🙏🙌
We are the same boat my Brother. Medically retired after 8 years in the Army with 90% VA disability. You have a lot to do make sure you go to the VA and get the information you need.
Congrats! I wish you all the best! If I ever join the AF and end up in Texas, I'll look for Realtor Jay! "Let Jay lead the way to your new home!!" Good luck!
Nice! I'm out within 1 year but I will be on terminal leave for 110 days. I did a 6 year contract but will be retired as well (Financially Free). You gotta have a plan before you join. Texas, I guess I'll see you in a year lol . Great minds think alike. Also I feel you. I'm unhappy with my job. 1. My OJT was my name being magically sign off for items never shown to me. 2. Every supervisor now are all brand new cross trainers from Security Forces. All of the people I joined with or started in my career field abandoned ship and seperated. 3. My base has low Manning and our civilian counterparts are lazy. 4. They lower the promotion bar by a lot. I wasn't trying to get SSgt. 5. I hate my 5 additional duties. 6. The air force make dumb changes of which when I got to my new unit didn't have continuity for, just expected me to know. 7. My job is to be an escape goat when things go bad. Let me phrase it how the SMSgt told me. "We are glorified paper pushers". I am well burnt out and have expressed that I don't care if I go home in a year, or now without benefits. There is not a day that has passed from the last two years that I have not been thinking or telling myself why didn't I just do 4 years. And my brain just repeats itself I want to go home, I want to go home, I just want to go home.
If you are 50% retired from active duty Air Force with 8yrs of active duty service can you collect 100% from the VA and still receive your complete 50% DFAS check?
I wish I did a medical retirement due to my shoulder injury that happened during my deployment. 11 years later my shoulder is getting worse and pain spreading throughout my neck and arm
Hey thanks for the comment but let me help you out a little brother. “For those currently serving on active duty, the UCMJ applies.” “The UCMJ does NOT apply to veterans who were discharged BEFORE reaching 20 years of service and qualifying for a retirement.” ~TODD SOUTH [Air Force Times Article] Link: www.militarytimes.com/news/your-military/2021/01/14/can-the-pentagon-prosecute-military-retirees-under-the-ucmj-maybe-it-depends/
Thanks to your bad knees you don’t HAVE to deploy??? Wow! Why do so many fools join any branch of service then do shit like this to get out of deploying? If you don’t want to deploy then military isn’t for you. People should be ashamed of themselves for doing that shit. We serve out country for others and the freedoms we have. You better believe when I was deployed that I rather be back in the states making videos, (not how to claim everything and blame the service for all your health issues). I’m in support of helping out Vets in need of help but not teach the idiots in our service how to suck every penny out of the government and blame the service for everything. To many week minded individuals join the service and now have PTSD because their drill instructor yelled at them or they had to do a work up and now they are crazy and never even deployed. Sorry for the rant and not all of this is directed straight at you, BUT these videos don’t help the true Veterans who need our help. And please be more humble to the fact you are getting help from our government because of all of your “ISSUES”.
Honestly, I would have. I wanted to commission and become an officer. But after the Article 15, I started to realize I really never saw myself doing 20 years.
@@21ShadesOfJayy I felt the same though a little different, I applied and went to the structured interview and was told no because I was too monotone. Then they shredded my 4187 so I couldn't apply once I ets'd or even if I reupped. If only the military did more to work with its joe's than to actively make them make up for the organizations shenanigans.....for the haters it looks like he's retiring at E5 so he's not rich he's just getting what is owed to him....plus he served honorably not getting chaptered out so who cares
Lol, a Dental Assistant that is medically retired. Way to play the system dude....I would be ashamed to go on RUclips and brag about that shit....Geezzzz. lol

Thank you so much sis! Hopefully next year I really start to make some power moves!

And yeah I’m done with dental, I never saw myself doing it forever.
Cool!! Whatever life throws at you, the military will make sure you're ready!!

So basically you finessed the military system.. *slow claps*
🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🙏🏾🙏🏾
really looking forward to the gritty of being a dental assistant because i am considering it as a choice of career
It’s honestly not a bad career. I loved my time as a dental assistant.
Great video man!! Tryna lose weight for the AF
It was a struggle for me, but cutting down on how much you eat plus running will get you there.
Thoughts on the skillsbridge program??
You will be the most critical patient in the VA dental office.
If you are 50% retired from active duty Air Force with 8yrs of active duty service can you collect 100% from the VA and still receive your complete 50% DFAS check?

I’m looking to live in Texas after my 6 yrs is up so I will be looking for you !
Sound good to me! Just let me know.
I dont give no deals lmao
Lmao I just had to keep it real 😂
Please remember that if you receive a check from the Air Force you are still subject to the UCMJ
Hey thanks for the comment but let me help you out a little brother.
“For those currently serving on active duty, the UCMJ applies.”
“The UCMJ does NOT apply to veterans who were discharged BEFORE reaching 20 years of service and qualifying for a retirement.”

Congrats bruh, I think we were deployed to Kuwait together
@Dee Jay they need dentists in Kuwait? Wouldn’t they just receive dental care *before* they left for Kuwait🤔

Just a call from a air force Recruiter & is the asvab hard ?
No deals then what's the point
Lol idk 😂🤷🏾♂️
Do you recommend getting your CCAF while in or does it matter?
It’s not hard to get one your training will take care of most of it and then just take your core classes and boom there it is
If you wouldn’t have got that article 15 would you have stayed longer
Honestly, I would have. I wanted to commission and become an officer. But after the Article 15, I started to realize I really never saw myself doing 20 years.
