Hey Sam. Long time no chat. I finally got my first Xmaxx today and was looking for some guidance on the install. I saw your video and thought yes sir this is the guy. I ve seen you build boats & live your style. Cheers now it's time to watch & learn
I was watching your video for the lights installation, and I noticed your tires... they look amazing! Do you happen to have a link or somewhere I can get them?
I installed the light kit on mine but my reverse light doesn't work. I have the front and the rear red lights but when I go in reverse the reverse light doesn't come on. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Good job on showing how to install the lights, but for only two lights, I'm not a fan of getting the light kit. I velcroid Lights on from my Quad, that really light up all my RC trucks. I can switch between them.
I am commenting while watching, here is my quick question, the back light when installed, are the wirings a problem if the body case cover gets thrown out while driving. (Wirings getting up out and potentially damaging wires?)
Thanks so much - due to your great video - I was able to knock this out pretty easily! (Would help if Traxxas would include COLOR pics in their directions!)
Man I wish they would’ve had the rear mounted in the bumper like the front. I hate the idea of it being connected to the body, have any of ya’ll had any issues with the body coming off when bashing? I’m installing my light kit now and thinking about Jerry rigging it to the rear bumper 😂
Hi Sam, nice video, I used it to fit my new kit as the Traxxas instructions are not as good as they could be. BUT I have had a problem on fitting it. I have bought the Traxxas LED Light Kit X-Maxx TRX7885 and on fitting the rear light one of the very small connectors that has 3 very small cables got caught and two of the cables broke right where they connected to little white connector. I have contacted Traxxas and they say they are not repairable and I have to buy a complete unit (8773) so my question is has anyone else had this issue where the connectors are very small and can't be soldered or put the two disconnected cables back into the connector - does anyone know if anyone say on Amazon sell them - my problem is I am in Spain so buying from a US based company is not possible and am sure this will happen again over time. Many thanks in anticipation of possible help.
I do have a simple solution. Those are JST-SH 1.0mm 3 pin female connectors. Here's an Ebay link for them with a short cable... www.ebay.com/itm/Micro-JST-SH-1-0mm-3-Pin-Female-Connector-Cable-Header-on-BeagleBone-Blue-x-10-/171351041620?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0 Cut the wire back, and solder them on away from the connector! Or, easier yet, there's two of them connectors on the wiring harness of the light kit that are not being used. Cut them off and replace the broken ones! For soldering small wires like that you need a soldering station with a small tip. Not terribly hard, very doable. And some small heat shrink tubing. Cheers and good luck with it!
@@sprc3352 The short wire coming from the power amplifier is zip tied to the frame. The wire in the body is zip tied to the backing plate. They simply unplug if the body comes off. No damage at all...
It's on 8s, those are the smaller 5,000mAh 4s lipos I was using from my Maxx. I had bigger ones on order, didn't arrive at the time of making this video...
I've noticed mine won't connect sometimes. This might help, I'm not 100% sure tho. I unlock my phone and open the Traxxas app first, then turn on the radio & the truck. Good luck with it...
Please I am only 14 years old and I have a brother he is only 13 years old please help us by giving us this RC truck please we really don't have any RC car please I am from India I live in West Bengal please my father is a blind he became blind because of a accident please I really want this RC truck please only I and my mother works in a small shop and only gets 50$ each please we really can't afford any RC car please help us by giving us this RC truck please
I did not like the placement of the taillight. I ended up removing the rear bumper cover and using a dremel to elongate the recessed part of the bumper. If you look at the bumper lines you simple make that notch just barely longer than the light. I then used a heat gun to warm the bumper up a little so I could flex it that 1/8" that I needed to slide the light in there in between the layers. The light sits nice and tight and is just barely beneath the surface of the bumper. There is no modification to the light itself; in fact, the screw tabs on the rear light are what binds it in place once the bumper cools back to its original shape.
I admire your clean install with the zip ties. This is how I like things too 👍🏼
That was a fantastic video - I set aside the instruction sheet and watched you !!! PERFECTION !!! Traxxas should use YOUR video !!! Thanks man !!!!
Thank you Sam! The best How-To Video I found on the internet. Greetings from Germany.
This is by far the best video of these being installed.. thanks man.

Thanks
A great clear step by step video that I’ve been looking for so I can go and buy the lights and fit them knowing how to do it properly
This video alone got me through it tonight..I was sec away from needing a new shell
My lights come on but they don’t come on when braking or reversing. Have u had this problem
Excellent video! Thx for the tip of using a needle-nose pliers to pull out the cap from the side of the ESC!
No problem & thank you...
I just purchased the Front bumper lamp, looking forward to installing it and going for a little night bash. Hoping its bright as hell.
It is bright as hell even in the day time on a bright sunny day they still are bright I think it is well worth the money.. 👍😎
Great video thanks heapsmi didn't even bother reading the instructions this video was perfect
Awesome! Thanks...
I was watching your video for the lights installation, and I noticed your tires... they look amazing! Do you happen to have a link or somewhere I can get them?
Great video! Since the paper instructions it came with are complete garbage, I was able to follow your instructions to a tee. Thanks!
Thanks. No problem, it's a big reason I share my videos...
would you need anything else for being able to control it through the app?
with this led kit can u also add a proline led to the roof
Just installed mine, thanks for the helpful video!
“That’s power”. love it😂
Good job thanks for the video . I'm going too install one on my revo 3.3
We have to drill holes?

I don't understand why my reverse light NOT working

Wire tie the pigtail to the frame and it simply unplugs when the body comes off, if I understand your question
@@chilly7261 thank you appreciate it! Planning on doing this, but is it possible to put the back lights on the rear bumper instead??
@@housesaint1685 I've seen a video on that. They cut a slot in the bumper. Not a fan. Really not a problem with it on the body

Hey like the light video help me ajumy lights ago. Really help me out. Your awesome!!
who else did see the fly walking by at 1.20 min?
me too 🪰🙂
What happens when body goes flying off after a big jump or flip over do rear light wires get pulled and damaged?
No, it just unplugs. Good question...

Is it possible to install this light kit along with the telemetry expander with gps module on the chassis brace ?
This only works with Traxxas ESC?
Nice overview about the light kit! How much does the additional LEDs affect the overall runtime of the battery?
Thanks. Can't tell a difference...
@@chilly7261 Thank you I was afraid the battery lifetime could be noticeably decreasing.
Im so glad my maxx didnt require any drilling
wonder what you would plug the lights into if you have a max 6 esc. An how much for light kit? Thankyou for a quality video
Thank you. I don't know, does the 6s esc have that power port? The light kit is $110, not cheap...
How do I connect if I have a max5 ESC 🥴
Nicely done!
Beautiful property
What did I do wrong?
After install, I get front light high and low beam.
Rear just have brakes on all the time .. no running lights or reverse..
Not much to go wrong with this install. Check the wire colors are in the matching sockets maybe?
Mine is installed thanks to Sam
Nice! Good for you!
Beautiful property. Where?
Thanks. Northern Wisconsin...
Good job thank you
Great presentation!

Sir Which cameras you use for recording which is mounted on your controller and how did you mounted it
If you're referring to the running video at the end, I recorded it with a head mounted Hero 7 Black GoPro...

agree , body popping off will rip the wires out of the body .
