Okay I’m not an Andromeda hater, I liked a fair bit of the game actually, but I have to acknowledge that a Turian protagonist would’ve been so much more fresh and interesting compared to just another human.
Hell, being able to choose an alien race that effects dialogue would’ve been amazing
Completely agree. That and the choose your race. I always hate the generic "play as a hooman because they best race to save galaxy" that usually plagues this series. I always played the alien characters in the mp. Shepherd was a well written character, the player Ryder felt they could of been any council race and still would of worked. I might have to see if my computer can handle Andromeda to play this mod lol. Hopefully a female version is implemented soon.
Giving players what they want doesn't align with the woke agenda.

Maybe in the next game you could have a character based around, assuming destroy is the cannon ending, a child raised by Garrus and Shepard if that's the relationship you went with in the games, they did mention they'd possibly adopt a baby Krogan, imagine playing as a Krogan raised by Garrus and Shep, that'll be one bad ass kid, probably with input from Wrex and Grunt
Imagine if you spent almost a month unlocking your dad's encrypted journal entries, and the big reveal was "You're adopted".

I feel like having playable Turians, Asari and Salarians would have made alot of sense in this game with the concept of Pathfinders...
Would love if they add in a Quarian character, making you the only Quarian on Andromeda.

Right? Like, choose your race and that's where you start out. So, you'd be Avitus Rix and the Pathfinder Macen Barro, he dies and you take over and start fixing the galaxy after somehow glueing together enough of the Natanus to create a usable spacecraft. But, then you'd have the added headache of powering the Nexus. BioWare is decidedly Humancentric. The bulk of their diversity revolves around LI's and their orientations. 🤦🏻♀️

This mod helps me forget the expressionless face animations from the human Ryder.

The facial animations for the female Ryder were horrifying during peebee's sex scene, like she was taking a perpetual shit
I don't understand why they did not give you the option to play as other races like this. This is just cool. Just watching this makes me want to replay the game.
Do it! Sadly there's only two armor skins for the armor in the game, but there's each unique casual wear, all customizable in color! My favorite is how the npc eyes are leveled to follow your taller character

This is literally what I always wanted in a Mass Effect game, was to play as turian! 😭
If this doesn't happen in the new mass effect game I'm like "yeah different races will probably never happen." I mean a MODDER did this. If a Modder can do this so should BioWare. Playing as a Turian would keep the series fresh and not always the boring same old human and would offer a new perspective in terms of protagonists.
You shouldve been able to choose a race in andromeda. They couldve kept the human ryders and just have you as an adopted kid. Wouldve made peoples playthroughs really interesting
This is really awesome! Now if only there was a mod that would add the flanging effect to all his voicelines...
Actually I've been back and forth with the modder and he said while it's possible, the problem is that the way the files are, he'd have to mod each line of each language individually. AND each line is a wav file and the modding tool has trouble with those types...
@@EndThusIAm Aw damn. But the mod is cool nonetheless, and if he ever needs help editing those voicelines, i may be able to offer some. Some sound editing is about the only i could do (but don't expect much)

@@EndThusIAm I wonder if the original modder could reach out to another modder who can also programm/automate/create scripts which could handle all those individual wav files. That way adding turian voice would be way easier and faster.

I do hope, probably in vain, that someday ME franchise will be reanimated, with alien protagonist...
For now, I'll settle for great mods like this. It really made Andromeda playable, for me.
Well, trilogy remaster was announced as well as Mass Effect 5, so maybe we will finally get a chance to officially play as a Turian

Somehow the lizard like turians have more emotional ranges than humans I find that hilarious
I can imagine a very compelling story about an adopted Turian boy trying to prove himself and make his father proud, while conflicting with the ideals and traditions of the Turian and Human cultures, like which one does he want to embrace more
In place of the Paragon and Renegade instead of...whatever was in the game
Sounds a lot like Worf's backstory in Star Trek, but I think it'd work great here. God this game had so much potential...
I was thinking the other day of a plot that would involve a human adopted by Turians, and trying to prove themselves to be just as capable as turians, considering their strict and military-focused society lol I was thinking of it taking place somewhere around the first contact war. I only thought of this because of the NPCs at the holding area in ME3; the teen girl who’s waiting for her parents and the turian c-sec officer caring for her. I like to imagine that he ended up adopting her 🥺

This would have been so fuckin' amazing. They could literally just have you be the adopted one in the family, after Alec Ryder felt bad for his (possible) role in the First Contact War

You know, always wanted to get a chance to change your race. Facial animation still need "some" work, but somehow it looks more... natural, and much cooler) Gosh, can't wait to see mod's fullest potential. I even may have someone who can help with that.

This is so cool! Why couldn’t they give us the option to choose a different race other than humans like dragon age?? When ME:A was first announced I was hoping they would, seems like a missed opportunity bioware 🤔🤔

The Exiled Draco I know right? I would have loved to have played as a Krogen or Turian, it also could have been a good opportunity for a different type of storyline with alien history, culture and customs that you could really immerse yourself in

If only there was a way to modulate the Ryder twins voices to that slightly out-of-phase double vocalization that all Turians have and it would be almost perfect.

Yeah, I use many mods to change Liam now and then. I just never liked his character, really wanted to throw him out the airlock.

My favorite Mass Effect species are and always have been the Turians. I would LOVE a chance to play as a Turian in a Mass Effect game (except the multiplayer, that doesn’t count in my book).
If there is a new mass effect after the legendary edition I think they should let you pick if you want to be asari or turian etc. I would definitely be turian
Add salarian, krogan and quarian too! Ok I may be asking a bit much, but I'd love to play any of these.

This was an incredibly great idea! But you’re only scratching the surface imagine the ability to play in drama or any of the mass effect games as any race to create a different story mixed into it as well. Think of the possibilities and the endless play Throughs of course!

Scott with Alec’s voice is the weirdest thing ever
The only thing that stands out to me as an issue are some of the cutscenes. Activating the tower he's wearing a human helmet for instance
Yes, thankfully from my experience that and being called Human are the only things that stick out since the helmet was part of the cutscene itself

@@ValeDenaloa Far as I know the modder isn't. There was never even an update or anything. I spoke with them a few times but that was back when it came out.
@@EndThusIAm Is there any indication exactly which romances cause crashes as well? It sounds like anything with nude models are no go.
@@ValeDenaloa I fully intend on recording romance scenes and all of them. I have mod where you can get all in one playthrough. We'll find out. I'm mainly curious about the Cora one because it was clearly the given more effort in animation.
Now I'm replaying the game and I've installed this mod. Hell yeah! That's good. It's a pity that the support is off, but everything is quite good already. Even the Ryder's voice is somewhat fitting. Textures are clipping sometimes, but that's the best we can do with vanilla rig and animations, so this mod is definetly my favourite.
Maybe Andromeda should’ve went for a Dragon Age Route where you get to play the different races and facing their own situation on their Ark.
It had the best set up to do so!

Funny you mentioned that, just yesterday when I was looking up Turian images, a result showed an old comic I followed with ShepxGarrus and she tried kissing him and apologized for forgetting he doesn't have lips. It was a sweet moment

Playing as a human all the time makes me start to get that Mass Effect is a little creative less. They should really go for different races as the protagonist in the next Mass Effect game. Heck they can make me wait a long time as long as they get different races to become an actual thing in Mass Effect!

I downloaded the fix pack and the turian mod and I was actually having fun until efvra told me to go to kandros or whatever but the game gets stuck in an infinite load screen every time I try to leave the planet
@@capriciousart3466 Yes, there are spots where I run the game vanilla. It seems to mainly be the cutscenes when the ship first visits a new planet and lands.

Rediscovered this mod, maybe it still somewhat abandoned but I believe with a bit of work in patches it would be even more neat!

You should also check out the new Asari Sara mod! It doesn't conflict like the old one and makes all the twin and Ryder family commentary hilarious

It's such a shame that the mod author has disappeared and the mod was left in BETA phase ;((( Would have loved to see a fully completed version of this (bug free and maybe even with the voice changes)

Actually since its an offshoot of the main story, I think they missed a HUGE opportunity to make one of the alien races as the protagonists. Turian, Salarian, Quarian, hell even Krogan and Asari would be a nice story start! :D Although I dont think they could've added all bigger races, at least 2-3 would've worked out.
They just needed to write the beginning a bit differently, some lines and crew would be different slightly. The main difference would be down the line since each race would have different goals (different habitation to found for one) and agendas. I'm curious what the heck they will do with ME 4 thats in the making though...? Since it had Liara in the teaser trailer, I'm guessing its a continuation after the war...?
And the best part, alien faces wouldn't have looked as horrifically lacking emotion as humans. In fact I sometimes feel like Turian Ryder emotes more!
@@EndThusIAm Ah yes... That would've saved us a lot of pain! Also, with the addition of turian females (hell yes, they look badass!) I'd love to have a choice to play as a Turian, hell any of the ME races look quite cool, even the minor ones (Drell for example)! Well here is hoping that ME4 will have some choices like that!

I'm at 5:40 and I love the idea of playing the protagonist as other species though I'm still thinking 'vocal flange ' but more so

mass effect 4 better let you be able to choose which species you are, getting to choose between Drell, Batarian, Turian, Salarian, Quarian, Krogan, or asari would be great, but also allow you to choose a human if that is what a player wishes.
Kinda sad that they just abandoned the Andromeda series just because this one was a bit of a mess

omg how this would be different, honestly I can see a full potential of having a choice to choose what you are. since we're no longer bounds to alliance or humanity bullshit story in Andromeda.
? Uhh why are you bound to the alliance? The andromeda initiative was a private group, while I’m certain the alliance would’ve wanted to flex some influence they’re literally to far to do anything.
I'm playing the remaster mass effect series right now. I'm on 2 now but once i finish 3 i'm gonna play Andromeda but with this mod! Its the only way to play the game

It would have been a cool and origonal idea to allow the player to choose thier race at the begining of the game. Like if a player chose to be a turian in this video.
Just found this and want this mod, tho that cracked helmet scene is a bit cursed, given the turian face clipping into ryders helm
Thankfully it's just that one scene since the helmet is forced. Although, sadly the romance scenes are also quite cursed...the things I saw...

@@vy3per386 I had that problem a lot! You just gotta find which mod is the broken one. Some show the warning sign but still work. Got a whole list of them but it still runs

This really shows how they should have allowed us to choose a species at the start, and have us begin on the ark of our chosen species, giving multiple ways to start the game. But they rushed it so oh well. Dang it, would have definitely played as a female Turian, always thought they looked hella cool. This is why you should never rush games dang it.

Andromeda would have been so much awesomer a game if you could have chosen your character race at least from the Council races.
Like they did in Dragon Age where you have presets of family names, members and history but a custom player character.
Wouldn't have taken that much work and the extra time in development for it would have done the game a world of good.
The broken mess it was on launch was unplayable. And the Ryders fell really flat for me.
The male Ryder especially came across as a brat (they both did, really); hardly elite soldier/explorer material.
The game is decent now after a hundred patches but there was so much squandered potential here it frustrates me to no end.
Well, if DAO could do it, why not mass effect? Seriously, I would like for the next game to allow us to choose between several races, hopefully the turians, asari and krell can be eligible as options.

It makes basically all armor and helmets either one of the two of Turian armor in the games.

Finished mass effect 3 gonna install this mod and try this game again. This is the only way to play it. I'll let you know how it goes. Hopefully I can install it ok

It's because frosty engine is a bit tricky to work with and a lot of mods are out of date. You sometimes get lucky.
