    Good one! Earlier this week, had some of that typical smell in the cabin which is a giveaway to change the filters. I have a 5 year maintenance plan with BMW but they wouldn’t change it for free until end of first 2 years!! My service is still 4 months out, but decided to change it myself. Thanks to this video !

    I bought 2 X5 from 2022, brand new cars (I got them almost 2 years ago, from the dealer). The problem was that one of it had serious issues regarding air flow on front seats. In the back you could have Katrina hurricane but in the front ... almost nothing. My local dealer (different than the one from where I got the cars) found nothing wrong (I went several times) and today I decided to give it a try. I got a filter kit from the store, replaced the old one and now guess who's having a lot of air flow in all the car? :)
    So yeah, thanks a lot for a tremendous difference you made in my life. The car with the issue is my car, the one I use every day and since weather got hot I was starting to have real issues with the heat inside the car. Now, I have even more cold air than I need but let that be my problem. I can deal with it. :)

      I love that you got it fixed!!! I hate the dealerships. They are always lazy and full of lies. All they want to do is charge a lot for simple things and half the time I don’t even believe that they do the work they charge you for.
      Good job doing it yourself!!!

    The most important thing on the installation of these 2 filters is to know where to have the arrow of the filter pointing to. No one but no one has been smart enough to show it right on camera and also I see discrepancies like some humans saying the arrows go facing opposite directions and some saying both filter's arrows go pointing the engine not the back of the car. So can someone really have a better video and answer to this?

    • @NKPGarage

      I think I got it right. Watch right around the 3:30 mark going forward. But I’m human, so there’s always a chance that I’m wrong too 😊

      @@NKPGarage Thanks for replying, the thing is I saw other videos where they said the arrows from both filters goes in the same way, pointing the engine and not the back of the vehicle. So my question to you is do you have any information from BMW that can support your theory of opposite sides? does ay of the filter slots have any mark that indicates such thing>? or where did you get that information from? for example this guy filters are coming out facing the same direction ruclips.net/video/3tGEn4xtMws/видео.html I checked my and they were on the same direction, but if what you said has real arguments and support so mine and the ones the other person had could be installed wrong before?

      @@krixtval4764 I see what you mean. The way I determined that was just by looking at the airbox where the filters fit. I just looked at the airbox and turned on the fan at full speed to see which direction the air was going and put the filters in that direction based on the airflow. I think I got it right but I might be wrong. On any vehicle I change cabin filters on that’s what I usually do is just turn the fan on full speed and see which way the air is flowing. Then put the filters in with the airflow arrow pointing the correct direction.

    Good Video. Your second connector was already off, it is that wire harness that fits into the round hole a few inches right of the light adapter. Never pull it, it will break!. use a flat head or a panel puller tool to get under it and pop it out.

    • @NKPGarage

      Yup, the air flows through the middle in between them. So they face opposite directions.

    Why would you put the filters in two different directions? Airflow should go all the same way…

    • @NKPGarage
      @NKPGarage  3 месяца назад

      Good question. I just turned the fan on and held my hand there to see which way the air was flowing and out the filters in the direction of the air flow. I’m not an expert. Just went with what I saw.

      @@NKPGarage The filters definitely both go the same direction. The first one pulls out larger debris, and the second one works as a scrubber for smaller stuff. Placing them in two directions will make the second one useless.
