Do any of them allow you to stick a wall hanging up on wallpaper or wallboard and later remove it without tearing the surface of the wallpaper or wallboard?
I’ve used the white double sided tape before for a 2-part door alarm. It stayed up for about a month, but the heavy part of the door alarm hit the floor in the middle of the night and the piercing sound of the alarm went off when the connection between the 2-part alarm was broken. About scared the bejesus out of me…. EEEKKK🥴
Before watching this video I've already had experience using the gorilla double-sided on my convertible Mustang on the back window that goes to the vinyl and has weathered very nicely with hot weather cold weather and rainy weather I'm very happy with its performance I also bought some 30 lb but haven't put it on yet.. nice video and information by the way good luck
I have used industrial strength Velcro before, only to have the glue fail a few days later, especially on a surface with any temperature variations to it. The glue they use on Velcro simply does not adhere very well, even if it looks like it will when first applied. Give it a couple of days and the Velcro pads just come undone. I have thought of using double stick glue on the bottoms of the Velcro pads, but I want a tape which does not tear a surface or leave a sticky residue when removed. Any ideas about that issue?
Do you know if any of these tapes would stick to unfinished/unsealed wood? I need to stick a wood grade stake (basically 1.5" x 10" piece of wood) to acrylic photo print to mount it with a wire at a gallery. I read somewhere 3m says wood has to be finished, but that would be a lot more work to do that first.
Im.using the.gorilla double sided tape on a treadmill side steps. Ill let you know how it works. When they made this cheap treadmill double sided tape.was used to hold those side steps.on
The tapes should have been pressed and allowed to cure as directed on the instructions to obtain the true strength of these adhesives. All these tests show is the amount of force these adhesives fail ***when improperly applied***.
We use mounting tape like this to stick down the radio recievers and transponders inside our RC race vehicles... I had been using Scotch 3M tape for a few seasons with good results... surfaces are cleaned with alcohol or simple green before application, depending on if we are doing it at home or at the track in the pits, we.dknt always take alcohol along. Both cleaning methods works well for 3M Scotch mounting tape. The Gorilla tape has been a severe letdown... it doesn't seem to stick well to anodized aluminum, nor the plastic case materials of our radio recievers and transponders .... I've even tried to rough up the surface of one reciever and it came loose again the first outing.... another roll of 3M is destined to be back into my gear before the end of the day... I'll find some other uses for the Gorilla brand mounting tape.
I bought few times those 3M heavy duty outdoor tapes holds heavy items , when gets over 85 falls off on 2lbs security wall camera ..but works great in cold & foggy weather ..cant f*n stand the heat , piece of S , is like under $10 , looks like them
The gorilla mounting tape (clear) has been a huge disappointment...hanging curtains weighing 7 lbs keep falling off....I have left it for 24 hours To give it a perfect time to adhere to the surface I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but every gorilla product I’ve used has been hugely disappointing if you have any suggestions for me to use the gorilla glue in a more effective way please let me know I’m using about 2 inches of the tape per brackets
Let me know what ended up working for you ... intried the Gorilla tape for a use that 3M Scotch worked well...it was disappointing and have went back to Scotch 3M with continued good results... cheers
I bought the Gorilla double sided tape, tried using it to keep wall mounts for my Oculus sensors on the wall. The mount slipped off eventually, stuck to the wall extremely good though, had to dig at it to get it off. I don't know what it is about these wall mounts that make them so hard to stick. I learned my lesson, shelled out $20 on a couple tripods instead.
*Which is Better* Great video! New subscriber here, always interested in winning giveaways-never have lol. Keep up the great work, looking forward to future videos: Maybe you could do a versus test of the propane/butane torches at the hardware stores, there are many and some work well, others don't.
Awesome. Thanks for subscribing and your comment. I really appreciate your encouragement, too. I've committed to 40 videos by year's end so I appreciate your content suggestion!
I need a gift card buddy I'm a poor musician and I need to get a computer with thunderbolt 3 or 4. Or atleast a motherboard with it for my apollo I'm a single father and I work very hard. I subscribed and liked your video. I hope You might consider me for a gift card or something if I need to do more let me know. Thankyou and I loved your video!
You should’ve let them cure for 72hrs before testing because their adhesion grows overtime according to the instructions

a1930ford i’m wondering about the same thing
The scotch tape breaks as you announce the figure so it cannot be heard.
I listed the results later in the video. Watch until the end. :-)
At the beginning of the video, I thought you said, "Welcome to Witches' Butter."

Thank you so much! I just moved into a house with stone walls. This was beyond helpful

Can I use Gorilla tape to mount a wall cabinet weighing around 25 lbs?
Did you try it?
This was so helpful. Ty so very much!!
great review...thank you
Would the Gorilla tape work on brick?
Great video, very helpful

Exactly, I was going to suggest that he let the tapes set up at least overnight before faulting out the results with uncured adhesive.
yes but it still showed 27 pounds of holding strength and the box says it holds 30 so not bad
Are they water proof?
1:59 "the scotch brand averages" (blam!) "pounds." what? i did not get that.
i'm more interested in 3m vhb vs gorilla.
What’s the best way to remove mounting tape once it’s been placed?
Acetone

try the 30lb rated gorilla instead of the clear 15lb rated

How do you remove the tape from a wall? Thanks
spray some wd40 to the tape and peel it off

I was interested in outdoor adhesion. Oh, well.
I found that 1”x1.67 ya of the gorilla tape is $1 less than the Scott extremely strong tape ad Home Depot
What about the Age of these tapes. Like glue they likely lose their bonding.
What ? No 3m?
At first, I thought you sounded like Blake Shelton. Lol.
VHB by 3M is superior to all of those...
Also way more costly
scotch extreme would hold my dashcam on my car windscreen

I need a double sided tape for plaster walls to hold led lighting eg smrtlites non of the tapes you showed worked at all.
If you can prime the surface they should stick to that
فيديو جميل بس قصير جدا.
لابد من الإعادة للاستفاده 😂
Are you sure? I didn't know that...
