Thanks... much... also, may i kindly ask.. same unit like that on your video.. it's Not Blowing Out Cold Air..? May it Be Something else..? Thank You Awaiting for your Prosperous Response or From Anyone...
Brother Jeff, How do you get the evaporator ( squirrel cage out ) when I torque on the squirrel cage bolt the motor shaft in the back turns. I wish it was pressure fitted with a safety clip. I would remove clip and use hub puller. I tried holding the back area but it still turns
@@lukehodgson5222 Hello Mary! Thank you for any/all of your help. Yes, I am aware of the slot and allen key. This is an older PTAC and the nut sits on the end of the squirrel cage. Of course, when you try and remove it the motor in the back turns. I have an awesome squirrel cage ( hub puller ) but to no avail. This is the evaporator fan which is a plastic squirrel cage design. I am not referring to the CONDENSER FAN. Only the evaporator fan. Unit is 20 years old. Salvaging for parts.
Hey Jeff I got a GE PTAC unit 2017 and there is a error code of 2 condenser fan not starting fail replace the capacitor and I still got nothing do you think it's the motor
Thanks Mark Yes I love working on ac units. But I like just doing that then if someone has a tv are toilet problem I will go do that when I am done. But I don't like the nag nag nag when I am trying to fix one thing then 5 other things come up But I do realize it's part of the job and will never go away. Thanks for watching Mark
good lord PTAC season is upon us at our resort. We have prehistoric GE PTACS, early 2000 zonelines and 2016/2017 GE zonelines along with what you're farting around with in the video. And even have a few suburban PTAC still in service.
That's what I thought the fan shroud has a different mount on it they sent us a whole box of heat shield things we have to put on the back of the motors they estimate it will take 45 minutes for each installment we got the parts but not the time thanks for watching JCC

Great job
I have a similar 3 blades fan. The Amana 0161P00055S
Is the standard?
Top secret room. Lol. That the best place.
Nice fix! looking very moist out there
The old ptac units were much better than the new junk. Multiple failures on newer ge units. They now use these dc motors that are high failure.
Another awesome video Geoff keep up the great videos.
Don't you just love working on tnem a.c. units always a blast :)

What does code 6r mean
What would cause the fan speed to not change and stay at the same speed
Relay are the control board But it could be that the Ptac is programed to slow the fan speed when it's about to reach the set temp.
Fan shroud is broken. Two screws on bottom.
I have a ge ptac fans not working but compressor working
subscribed and shared video to facebook. TY.
Oh man Steven that is awesome thanks so much and thanks for watching
does anyone know on a midea ptac how too reset the A5 code indoor air senor fault
Sure you won't see this but my fan blade won't come off?
That’s the reason I’m hunting around on RUclips right now. Any luck?
Nice repair
