TL;DR of the last section for those who (understandably) don't want to listen to 10 full minutes of my wobbly/shaky voice:Wick: ATPR will no longer continue as a comic but a written format, because: 1- The workload mixed with my studies + job + mental & physical health + personal life + other personal projects was just not humanly possible to manage and I was treating it like a second job rather than a fun personal passion fan-project. 2- I feel like I've given this fandom more than enough and am genuinely mad at myself for putting so much work into a game which, as much as I loved it, objectively didn't deserve this much time and effort compared to other pieces of media that inspired me and that I care about just as much, and also my own universe, which I want to spend the majority of my time on. 3- Overall just a lot of pent-up shame about what I felt this project mirrored back at me, and how I thought I would be perceived for it, on top of feeling guitly for what I was doing to a piece of media that wasn't mine and how it would make its original creators feel. While editing this video I felt very silly spending so much time trying to explain myself for something that most people probably won't care about, because ultimately it's just a super niche comic about a dead game, but those who follow me on Instagram know that it matters a lot to me that I always stay sincere about my intentions, and how I feel about my projects, even if they're made in my personal time (+let's be honest, I hyped up this comic so much for the past two years, announcing this update in a small written post would be stupid). Hence why I took my time to explain things, even if I take the risk to come off as embarrassing, or too serious. Most of you guys are super understanding and very patient, but I still wanted to use this video as an opportunity to explain my thought process a bit, lately, especially given my absence on RUclips. Thanks again for your time, the next video will set back a more positive mood!
Thanks for the update Psyche! Having followed your journey with 'Wick: At the Pines Roots' since it's inception, I'm so glad you'll still be uploading the full story. It's a great plot and I know how hard you worked on it, so I'm glad people will still get to experience it despite your mixed feelings on the project overall. As you said, it's the end of a chapter, but the begining of some whole new adventures and I'm very excited for your upcoming personal project! Genuinely impressive you got that far into the project lol. When I was like 12 and super into Wick I tried to make an oc comic lol (I got to like the third panel). Also I'm like 99% sure I've met one of those 13 year olds asking for weird art on some amino 😭
Haha thank you! I mean, starting an oc comic is already great, especially at 12, not everyone would even try! Oh boy, yeah, Amino... All that stolen art on that gosh darn Wick Amino. I took a look at it a few times and it just kept getting worse🥲
