Louisiana and east Texas was a fun trip, pleasantly surprising based on what you’d expect for hockey in the southern states. Next videos are up on Wednesday and Friday morning! See you then :)
Like I said in the comments on your last video... North Texas has good ice and a real hockey presence.
Shreveport and East Texas are a bit in the sticks unless you like to gamble, eat gumbo, or enjoy huge outdoor flea markets. Perfect place to focus on school and hockey though.
Next time they let you in there, you should stop a puck or two. 🤪 Good luck on this one, brother!

@@xKrispyx I believe Shreveport and New Orleans are about ~5 hours apart. Very little French influence in Shreveport (think: Atlanta meets Vegas meets St Louis but the size of Waco). Might be one or two places to get "meh" poutine there. Probably a good thing for Trav, because poutine is loaded with carbs, fat, and delicious calories. lol
Was up at 4:45am ready for this vid, cranked out an hour on the treadmill while I waited. Yoga while I watch it, gym after. Stay on it my dude, dreams aren’t Amazon Prime, there are no 2 day arrival guarantees here.

I, a native Texan, was surprised to learn we had collegiate hockey when I did. It's really sprouted up around here. Granted not as much as you would see farther north but we got it! 😂 Glad you enjoyed the trip!

That bird's eye view was awesome. Not sure if it's possible to zoom in more but that would be some pretty sweet footage. I like being able to see the angles you take on players coming in, so that view is great. Keep up the good work

Cool to see that you passed through my home state of Louisiana. Not too much ice here (Shreveport and Lafayette have the only rinks in the state to my knowledge), but there’s definitely some hockey fans statewide

Congrats man! I’m very happy you have somewhere to play if you choose it. ACHA D1 is pretty damn good. If you’re still looking for a school, Liberty University is also a good ACHA D1 with a D3 program alternative. I’m looking there as well

Hey trav, i played college golf with ETBU’s rival Letourneau, also in east Texas. Have been to many games and know many of the players. I would highly recommend coming out here based on the teams they play and ETBU is a great school to go to

Good Vid on your trip to Texas/Louisiana. Living in Houston, playing hockey, I thought the hockey would be sub par, but there is a ton of transplants from Canada and northern states.
If you sign with ETBU, give a shout, will hook you up with some good Houston hot spots.

Been playing acha for two years and as someone who decided to not go play juniors and just go to school I don’t regret a thing. I had low expectations for club hockey and was met with 25 guys who all share the same passion for the game as me. Fucking love these boys and wouldn’t have changed a thing for it.
I really hope you will found a team soon you deserve it with all these effort you put on ...always trying to improve gonna paid off for sure i support you from Quebec

Looked like a fun trip. And yes, there's plenty of historically religious based schools in Texas that function pretty much as regular universities (Baylor, Texas Christian U, etc). Way more laid back about such things than Briarcrest. But I said on the last video: These guys are probably pretty solid, but the competition they face would be more like the Adrian College D2 team you saw. Most of the teams they face, they've been destroying (12-2, 7-1 vs Texas State, 21-0, 14-1, 23-4, and 17-3 vs North Texas, 7-1, 11-3 vs Dallas Baptist, etc). Hopefully they're looking at beefing up their schedule a bit. There's plenty of good teams in the south and west they could also play: Arizona State, Northern Arizona, Florida Gulf Coast, etc.
Wow a lot of take offs and landings on that trip.. glad nobody lost your bag or sticks

Insanely good shots from up there. Great to watch. Glad that you got a hotel that was visibly less greasy than that one from your other video.
