Playing for the Winnipeg Jets is a goal that I would give anything in my life (including my life) to do...... That's how much I love the Winnipeg Jets and the city of Winnipeg (Yes, I know this is dramatic).I didn't play for them this night but I got the chance to skate on the same ice that they skate on and it's something I'll never forget. Till next time MTS Centre.
Hope to see you back for the next video about another college recruiting trip on Monday. I share new videos every Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 5am central for those that care :)
- Trav
trav4oilers awsome it would be awesome to be the backup against pittsbugh
I notice how u throw the water in the air... didn’t the maple leafs coach say he hates that and only Holbty should do that?
U were in the same crease as connor helybuck
i thought you were playing with college players not beer leauge players
brett sandham he wouldn’t be the backup he would be the starter
you look so much more comfortable in the vaughn pads.
The Vaughn pads look so much better on you.
The newest Signing To The Winnipeg Jets TRAVIIIIS _____________
WE DON'T KNOW HIS LAST NAME BUT HE WAS CHEAP. DIDNT COST MUCH TO GET HIM SO HERE WE ARE
@@trav4oilers lol... So true Trav. Man of mysteries!
oh no
@@trav4oilers That would be insane if you were drafted to the jets I would be a die hard fan
Travis scott
So we’re all in agreement that when Scheifele becomes captain we’re calling them Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch right?
Agreed
Yuuup
Yes
Big ice is a blast, so much more room to wheel
WHEEL WHEEL WHEEL
i play at a rink with 4 nhl sized rinks that have shinny at least 3 times a day #blessed
NHL sized rinks are standard in most arenas 200 x 85
@@ronburg6914 yeah aren't most rinks NHL sized whereas olympic size is actually wider?
In high school our home rink was where the AHL Cincinnati Ducks used to play. It's where I saw Gigeure play when I was little and what made me get into hockey. Stepping onto that ice was always the most amazing feeling ever. Can't imagine what an NHL rink was like!
Buddy’s just shutting down some bear leaguers lmao 😂
The Jets have finally recruited you as a back up tendy !! Happy for you , it's the same I would like to skate in TD Garden Arena in Boston, big Bruins fan.
Go Bruins!
Nathanael Sandanassamy wait he’s a backup for them?!?!
@@liammooney8780 Nope he just had he just had the opportunity of skating at the Arena
Ya go bruins
Nathanael Sandanassamy he would fit so well with Rask
I know the feeling, had a few skates at Rexall Place in Edmonton when the Oilers were playing there, it was pretty damn amazing! You're also right, softer ice and hot as hell! Glad you got to get a skate in the Jets barn, cheers!
I am so glad that you got the chance to play at the MTS Centre, I know it was a major highlight fro you. I was fortunate enough to play a game at Nassau Coliseum, home of the NY Islanders, back in the mid '90's. I am a huge Islanders fan, and I got to play net for the Islanders media, vs. the Rangers media. I was allowed to fill in for the Islanders media guy, and what a thrill that was! We won the game, so that is my ultimate "career" highlight! I am no longer playing now because I have a new right hip and a new left knee, but I will be skating very soon, with my grandsons as they take skating lessons! Anytime we beat the slimy Rangers is a thrill! Keep on playing Trav, you are awesome!
3:28 You look more natural right there than Hellebuyck
Maybe its something in the MTS Centre water
looks like you truly had a great time. That's awesome
Props to the organization letting you do that. You should be sponsored by Winnipeg tourism cause I really want to come check out a Jets game and visit the city. I hear it's the coolest rink and loudest.
Winnipeg Tourism buys all my Timelapses you see in the videos actually. Great company :0
My beer league team got to play a game at Rogers Place in Edmonton last season, and it was so cool. They gave you the "pro experience" playing anthems, had music going, allowed friends & family to come watch, announced goals and everything. Best night ever.
New pads look great Trav, and congrats on getting the opportunity you’ve always wanted!
I am watching this while in TV I am watching you try out for the Kings
I genuinly think that if you could get on any team, their goalie coach could make you a fucking starter, you are so natural with all of your movements, so fluid, so practised. I think you are a genuine NHL caliber netty who only needs to just make the team and everything will fall in place from there.
LOLLLLLLLLLLLL
The way you skate is so smooth I love it :D
Thank you sir! See ya back fro Mondays video?
trav4oilers of course!
I actually thought you did when I first saw 😂😂😂 I was like “NOT MY FAV TEAM BUT ITS HIS AND ITS THE NHL SO... YESSSSS!!!”
Looks like fun! Played there when it was the Moose's home only...and totally agree it's SO hot in there!
@Manitoba Moose?? im pretty sure ive seen the @Grand Rapids Griffins play them Multiple times..
you can tell in the way he moves that he’s having the time of his life. so happy for you trav!
Was a blast
I know exactly how you feel. A few years ago in youth hockey we got to skate at the American Airlines Center. There was nothing like standing in that tunnel, hearing the music and seeing that star drop down before skating through it. Certainly the highlight of my life and my "NHL Moment" nothing will ever beat it.
Holy shit I’m a jets fan and a bruins fan and I’ve always wanted u to play for the jets because I live in Winnipeg. Congrats bro keep up the grind
I’m so happy for you trav that’s crazy. Never give up 💪🏼
I had a chance about 25 years ago to skate at Maple Leaf Gardens. I got sprung for a breakaway, and as i crossed the blue line it dawned on me I was on a breakaway in Maple Leaf Gardens...was suddenly so overwhelmed I never got the shot off. Glad you had such a great experience Trav. You're right, you'll never forget it.
I’m a Winnipeg fan, I’m also from Winnipeg.
what area of the peg
Waverley
You know the thing I love abt Trav is that he had failure but the thing is he never gave up and look at him man this is why I keep pushing love ya Trav!!
Some really nice work between the pipes, Trav. Way to make it look easy. You looked very fluid and a total pro.
Constructive critique (No, I am no pro or expert) was the one goal by #40 for Boston at 6:38 you were, too deep in the blue and you froze and I know you know to push out when you have time. Overall though this was AWESOME to watch! When I lived in Dauphin, I never made it to a Jets' (1.0) game when they were WHA with Bobby Hull and the Nielson brothers, but my dad met them and got me autographed photos from back then. I grew up a Habs fan but I was a WHA Jets fan all the way and I was ecstatic when the jets made their return to the NHL so there is still love for them in my heart but I remain a Habs fan.
Never got to play hockey on BIG ice but I did get to get on the surface of Maple Leaf Gardens for my first Martial Arts competition back in the early 90's while it was still occupied by the Leafs and the feeling was electric. MLG is now a Loblaw's but the rink has been converted to a sports centre for Ryerson University and they do support shiny and open free skates so I plan to get out there soon to start on the path to returning to the goal.
Glad you had that experience to actually play. Great video as always!
Thanks for sharing bro. Agree I was too deep
How awesome for you! That was absolutely amazing! As a Jets fan, pretty much since birth, it was almost like being there myself. Go Jets Go! (They certainly did against Ottawa)
Seeing a Jets game in Winnipeg is my dream, hope to do it soon. Had to cancel next month’s trip due to surgery. Always next season.
its an unrivalled atmosphere
trav4oilers I know! 😉 My family is originally from there and I watch most of the games here in Ohio, but it’s not the same.
I bet it was awesome! Happy for ya Trav! You looked great in net! We actually house a USHL player from Winnipeg. He plays for the Sioux City Musketeers. Best kid we've housed so far! Thanks for sharing this experience!
Which player?
@@trav4oilers Anthony Kehrer.
I’ve been watching you for a couple months now and I’ve gotta say, your goal tending has increased insanely. Good Job and congrats on this huge milestone
I have had the chance to play twice in Rogers/GM place in Vancouver. once the year the building opened, and a couple years ago the night before the Nucks hosted the Black Hawks. such a cool experience. you are right about the ice being soft. the Zamboni dude told us they use water that has had the minerals filtered out so it sets quicker between periods. also noticed the same dead boards. GFY.
As much as I love/hate the leafs, Winnipeg has better fans. That building goes crazy
The Briercrest jersey is amazing ... "C-L-I-P-P-E-R-S! Oh, the Clippers are the best...!"
Happy you got that opportunity Trav! You also played awesome on your home ice. Icing on the cake (good pun there). It’s clear just how hard you work, Year after year. You deserved it. Cheers 🍻
5:10 OOF
RIP
Hello Trav. I'm a little late to the comment section on this one. Just caught up on some of your vids . You made the comment about how Hot it was on the ice at Bell MTS. Also how soft the ice was. I played a game at Madison Square Garden back in 2009. Hottest building I've ever played in with the softest ice. This was also before MSG switched over to LED lighting . Those old lights put off some heat in that building. It was also a dream come true that i would never forget. Thank You for sharing your experience it was an awesome vid.
With the view from inside the net looking out into the building was awesome. It looked like the real nhl net cam. So sick and really happy for you bud. Great video I loved it. One of those videos you wish kept on going. Hopefully you can do it again. I got to play a game at the Honda center and it was such a memorable moment for myself. Stoked you finally got the opportunity. Keep up the good work. The new gear is so sick.
Nees to be 20 minutes next time
I skated at an OHL rink a while ago and I was also shocked at how soft the ice was.
1:08 that’s got dark real fast
Was light humour lol
I can relate, I played at Maple Leaf Gardens once, only thing that ruined it was they did not attach the posts..nothing compares to coming across the crease and taking the net with you...
bruuuuutal
Awesome man! Hoping you get the chance again...I hope Winnipeg puts you on the short list for emergency goalie:)
Never going to happen
That fucking stick save though bud
Monster stick save brother! Thanks for being a channel member
Wow looked super solid out there! Keep er movin!
You look a lot smoother now then last year. Not as much unnecessary movement, staying square and moving quicker. You look good. 👍 Like Kobe said, the dream isn't the destination, it's the journey. Keep working hard Travis, because you are living the dream.
I remember when you tried out for the kings
So do I
I played a championship game on Joe Louis Ice rink when I was in the 8th grade.Even though we lost in overtime it was one of the coolest experiences ever!
It's an amazing feeling eh
Looking like a real goalie in those Vaughns... Those Blue ones look like they came from WalMart
I watched the river dragons hat trick game and they needed you pretty badly...
I'm available
That was awesome! You looked so happy in the net on big ice. Definitely see the improvements. Never give up your dreams! 🔥💪🥅
I can relate to your experience to an extent, 2 years ago I got the opportunity to play goalie at the Boston Bruins Ice (TD Garden) was such an amazing experience and couldn't stop smiling the entire day. side note it was my 1st time playing Ice Goalie ever so i obviously wasn't good but was an experience Ill cherish always. Glad you got to play on the Jets ice!
Our beer league championship is played at PNC Arena (Hurricanes arena) and it was a awesome experience
I was able to play on an AHL rink (Albany River Rats) before and it was the same issues. Super warm and soft ice. It was still amazing. They had just installed a jumbotron and used us to test it out. We would all stop to watch the replays on the screen after something happened. I will never forget it even after 18 years.
That was awesome keep up the good work trav
You play so good in your new equipment.
Gear looks sick. Stoked to hear how much fun you had. I was lucky enough to play in the saddle dome and I remember it like it was yesterday
Give this guy one NHL game some one any one he has earned it
Never gonna happen bro
@@trav4oilers never say never brother
I can’t get over how good the pads look it’s not even okay
Cant get over how good you look
trav4oilers thanks pops
Good shit bro. You’re looking good out there.
What a great feeling. I have been lucky enough to play twice at the Honda Center (Ducks) and once at the Toyota Center (Ontario Reign). It was a great experience, I hope more people get to enjoy it.
This was cool to watch. Glad you had a great time. I am born and raised in Florida and play hockey. I have been going to lightning games since I've been a kid. At the end of March we have a game scheduled to play at Amalie. I can't wait, it will be my first time skating on my home town arena as well. So excited, I can definitely relate to how you feel.
Travis those pads look a lot better they really suit you
Man those V9s look good
Kinda know how you feel, we used to have an IHL team in our state ( NM Scorpions). We got to play on their rink. So much bigger and so much fun! They would play later that night and we watch and i can remember thinking,” yeah i played on that ice earlier” hahaha. Even got to play against some of the Scorpions too. Good times!
i've seen games in that arena before on tv but you can't truly appreciate it until you see a view from that angle
Really wanted to bring you closer to what was happening. Hope you felt it
Looked like a blast! Lucky!
Trav! Man I am so proud of you. I’m even happier your playing for mike and your hometown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats trav
Fucking love the clips trav
love the vids man keep up the good work
hey Trav, as a fellow goalie I just gotta say that these pads have made a real difference in your game. Less holes, better mobility etc. Hopefully I'll run into you at an SPHL camp this year, good luck getting to the next level!
best of luck to you too Grayson
You gotta come down to the loudest house in the nhl (pnc arena). Then you will see a electrics crowd.
needs the canes to fly me in
Looking like the king himself
I hate warm rinks. I drink Pedialyte before games during the summer to pre-hydrate.
I found your comment about the temperature in the building interesting. I had the opportunity to play at the Boston Garden a couple of times during the last lockout and was struck by how warm it was. Like your experience, the building was essentially empty. How much warmer would it be with 15,000+ screaming fans in the stands? Glad you got the chance. I have fond memories of mine!
Plus the lights fully on, etc. Must be scorching
That's awesome, really happy for you man. New pads look amazing btw
I come here to watch hockey vids, but by the end of every video, i want to move to the peg. Get me some of that real winter again.
Come to the dark side
That's pretty badass good for you man.
thats awesome man, i love Winnipeg and i love the rink !
love winnipeg as well
Awesome stuff! Visualization goes a long way in achieving a goal, but having that physical experience of playing on the ice you one day want to play on just brings you that much closer and something you can think back on. Awesome stuff!
amen!
I know how you feel trav I'm in texas and when I played in the American airlines center in dallas it felt amazing to play in an NHL rink. I always wanted to play in the Jets home arena too. Awesome vid you look great!!
Love the jets baby, Thanks for watching this video. new vlogs every Mon, Wed, Fri at 9am eastern. See ya fro tomorrows video ;)
I played twice now at the Air Canada Center, and now Scotiabank arena. Yep it was warm and the ice was soft also what the puck still moved well if that makes any sense? It was such a special experience.
I can't believe you were in Winnipeg. I live in Winnipeg. I wish I saw you once... Happy you had fun!
What are you in bro? Go jets go
@@trav4oilers Uh... I'm not on a hockey team but I play Sledge hockey. And go jets go!
Thats so Awesome! We used to have the Central Hockey League Blazers, as well as the AHL's Barons here in Oklahoma City, and I wanted nothing more than to stick and puck or play some drop in on that sheet. Just an old crappy building, but it has so much character!!!
Ahhh man.. Can you imagine stepping out on to that ice to a packed house.. insane.
Dude! I am so happy for you bro! Congratulations for making your dream come true! Don’t hope bro, MAKE IT HAPPEN AGAIN!!! And remember, have a great time! 👍🏽
There are those that play or have played that will never have that opportunity. Enjoy every moment and keep focus on what’s most important, family and friends. Enjoy to the fullest.👍🏽
Played twice at the scotia bank SADDLEDOME. It’s a humbling exp that also unleashes your inner child
Congrats man......I got a chance to play a beer league game last year at the Coliseum after an Isles game.....people dont realize in essence it's really a stage for the fans to watch....those lights made it super hot. Ice did get soft fast. Lucky the pros get a fresh cut every 20 minutes. I won 3-2. I purposely never want to play there again so I can tell my grandkids one day that I was undefeated at the COLISEUM! HA
Well it's no Ralph Engelstad Arena but it's still pretty nice...
Remember watching u in Junior B and now ur almost at 60k! You work so hard and inspire me.
Be the new"chicago lawyer game". Or even tonight the ayres guy... Lol dream big!
The fun opportunities that come from hard work... looking good.
Like 20 years ago, I was able to do a skate and shoot at what is now the Key Bank Center after a Sabres-Blues game. It was a blast and it was crazy how hot it was.
It is quite the feeling when you step on to an NHL ice. I got to play at the Bell Center in Montreal once, crazy experience. The place is huge, but in a different way then when you're in the stands watching.
You can tell the new gears lit a fire in you. I love getting new gear lol.
What are the 2.7 people who watched this not doing? YA GOTTA LIKE THIS ITS HIS DREAM!!
no pressure
So happy for you dude it looked so fun. I’m not even a goalie or a big fan of goalies but your channel opened it up to me and you are my favorite hockey youtuber because I know the journey is hard but we love getting to watch you.
Happy to have you along for it. thanks for watching Vinny
trav4oilers so am I and no problem
I occasionally skate on the Wild practice rink and the temperature thing is the exact same there. NHL ice is hot af and it's a bit soft. The boards are cemented in there though so the glass/boards comment isn't the same there.
I remember going there for my peewee game! Nothing better than just imagining that the jets play here ya know.. I play for st James canucks!
Go vics lol
Brown university rink was pretty much the same way with soft ice and being wicked hot on the ice.
