I let a friend drive my 8th Si ONCE, he tried to float into 2nd and grinded the car to a halt while turning. I think my LSD or final drive is shot because sometimes it feels like its “slipping” while in a corner and lurches forward with some not so nice noises. Took it on some mountain pass curves recently and it did fine. Bummed out about it but I’ll check it once im done building my LS trans.
After autoxrossing my TSX this is absolutely almost required. Lol. Would love to get one and install it when I replace my transmission (currently have no 1st gear.... ) have to keep my eyes open.

Question couldn't you measure the open diff and the lsd with the bearings on them as you did and measure their stack height against each other on the bench to know if the spacing was going to be correct before reinstalling it all just to measure with a feeler gauge? Also I presume the whole thing is going to have to come apart if the spacing isn't right? Does Honda sell the washers to take up said spacing? and where does it go exactly (guessing behind one of the 2 bearings)? Interested in a follow up video. I bought an M-factory years ago for my GD3 but got cold feet to do it myself and don't trust anyone to do it right so I sold it. Watching this video gives confidence BUT I have to know for sure I do it right! Looks like even a first timer (for the LSD) could pull the transmission and get it done and back in a day.

I have asked on message boards and nobody has a definitive answer... been watching this channel and note that you guys actually tear everything down and compare different versions of engines. I have a 2008 Accord K24Z3 - I bought a replacement engine and couldnt pass up the super deal of a very low mileage 2011 Accord K24Z2 engine - not kidding $150 fully dressed with harnesses and everything. Super steal. I cant find ANY information on differences on the engines - I know the Z3 makes 11hp more - but nobody can tell me why - what INTERNAL differences are there? Does that 11HP come from TUNING and EXHAUST or is there something in the engine like cam specs??? Ideally I want to drop the Z2 in my 08 Z3 engine bay and hoping it all works out - but I wish I KNEW before hand. (After this Im going back to my A series K24's though! HA!) Appreciate any knowledge here.
I would say yes, I used 2010 Civic Si 6th gear set in my 06 Element. One thing to watch for some of the main shafts use different size case bearings, I think it was around 2006 there was a change.
As soon as I saw you pull out the Tekton torque wrench I was waiting for the moment you tried to put the case bolts back in. Love my Tekton but the one way operation is bizarre!

I think in past I've purchased new bolts to be safe.
My 1999 Prelude has a Quaife. My 1989 K24A2 CRX has a 6 speed LSD transmission from an SI.

I have a 2006 Acura TSX that I use on the dirt track. Is there a LSD that can go in an automatic transmission?

I can help with any rebuild parts you may need sir. It is possible the Differential is damaged. We can upgrade to mfactory.

I realize if the engines were identical then they wouldn't need a different designation - just wish I knew the difference in Z2 and Z3 internally
The K24Z3 has slightly higher compression ratio and it revs higher. Also the Z3 came on cars with a higher flowing exhaust.
