My favourite bench. My Dad was scout master and we camped round the corner from the Cripple Path. A party of scouts would go up the Cripple Path to the cliff top and message camp by semaphore.

That stone marker is the grave for Francis Gray Bacon. He was about 12 or 13 l think when he passed away. I'm glad you did the cripple path and not me. Way too many nettles for my liking! I have a phobia of nettles ever since I fell in a bed of them as a toddler.
