I believe that the reason the line moved up and down the hook was because you double wound over the line on the hook and therefore couldn't tighten enough. The big question for me is with a spade end hook, would the line run in front or behind the spade end. I lost 8 hooks a couple of weeks back and I believe it was because the line ran in front of the spade end. When you pull the hook, it tends to pivot forward at the spade end and this can cut through the line. Always have the line running down the back of the hook!

Joseph used this to tie hooks no problems landing a very angry dog fish
Been using that type of knot for over 60 yrs; still cathing fish up to y40 lbs..
That knot ain't going nowhere pal. Buy one of these tiers for pennies, try a few practice runs and you might be pleasantly surprised!

Glad you liked it.
These little devices are a bit tricky at first, but you'll get the hang of using them very fast, and they tie a decent knot.
Look up Mick Knowles demo of Ezzee tie fishing jig it's a cracking bit of kit, I shall be buying one as I suffer from the early onset of arthritis, I have 2 Hook-Eze they make life a bit easier when your down on the beach, Tight Lines Garry thanks for your quick reply John'O
Thanks for the extra info.
I will check him out.
P.S. I know how hard it is to tie knots with a bad hand. (I cut my finger through to the bone and severed a nerve in doing so (Freak Accident - Petrol Generator handle snapped when I was pulling it to start it ), I'm still getting used to not using my index finger on my right hand. Life goes on and finds a way)

Quite a nifty device and an addition to the Fish hook knot tying tool also.
I've just ordered an Ezzee Tie from eBay for £13, will let you know what it's like
It's a hundred times easier to tie it without this devise'
Only if you can use your hands, my fingers were cut through to the bone and had the nerves severed, so I'm unable to tie knots normally.
What is the benefit of this device? People can tie faster with bare hand.
Some people need eye glasses, some prosthetic limbs, others are not so nimble with their hands.
Be grateful: you don't need this tool.
100000000 anni per fare il nodo sull'amo
Ci vuole tempo sicuramente 🎣
It takes time for sure 🎣

🙂
I can tie tow hooks manually and perfectly in What amount of time is spent on single hook to tie,
Not helpful.
If I had two good hands I'd agree with you.

TRY LISONING DUMBASS. HE SAYS HE IS GETTING OLD AND HE HAS AN HAND INJURY. THAT`S STOPPING HIM FROM TYING HOOKS FREEHAND.

Thanks for coming to my defense.
I'll be 66 this year, so I think that qualifies me as getting a bit ancient.
@@GarryPurcell No Probs Mate. I am 63 and use a hook tying tool. I have a matchman a Preston`s and two like yours of Aliexpress. So many idiots making negative comments like why not use the eyelet. The big hook and thick line was for the vidio easy to see. Fishing is all about presentation and that`s why we use spade end hooks. Who needs a big eyelet and a big ugly knot. I hope your hand gets better soon. All the best Tight lines.
Say you are getting old! Well, I am 81 and this is very close to the stupidist thing for fishing I have ever seen. I bought one just to see it. Now, I wouldn't hit a dog in the head with this thing. Talk about something made to sell, but not worth the powder and shot to blow it apart? This is IT!
This tool is for people who have difficulty using their hands to tie knots.
P.S. I'm over 70 and cannot use my index finger on my right hand correctly, due to an industrial accident.
Please.. take that atrocity and dispose of it in the nearest trash can.
Haha
I'll keep that in mind.😀
Run it through the eye FIRST!!!
It was a simulation of a spade hook, so no eye used or needed for this knot.
World
does this chap fish?wtf
Yes I do fish, but the index finger on my right hand has had nerves severed in an accident, with a petrol generator pull cord, (cut went through to bone) so its very difficult for me to tye knots.😉
Palomar knot rather than that joke.
This tool is used mainly for spade hooks, so a Palomar knot would slip off the shank.
too complicated... I do the same by only my hands twice faster ...
The tool is not meant for able bodied people.
I have a damaged hand, and cannot tie knots anymore without the aid of a tool.

the finished knots was not perfect unreliable
Sorry to hear you have problems tying this knot.
It took me a few attempts to get it right.
nice video but very ugly fingers
I had an injury where my finger was cut through to the bone, and nerves were severed.
P.S. I have no feeling in some of my fingers on my hand.
@@GarryPurcell well so sorry
@@juragan6690 That's OK, you weren't to know, my injury is permanent, and the surgeon told me there is nothing he can do to alleviate the pain in my hand, I just have to learn to live with it.
Taking too much time
Take a deep breath, and relax a bit.🙂
Wanting things done faster is Ok, but if I did, you would be complaining, that you couldn't see how I tied the knot.
Fail product waste of money
What problem did you have using this device?
@@GarryPurcell timing
Timing?
I don't understand what your trying to say.
