TQ sdr Aiman was it....Well done..Indeed a wholesome review. Your presentation style is commendable....facts, figures and rounded up with your knowledged assessments. One other aspect you could touch on, for future presents, the thicknesss of the body paint and a measurement of noice level within ( they have got gadgets for these).
I have test drive the Kicks. The e pedal drive is really nice, good acceleration smooth drive. The NVH is good too you hardly notice when the engine Kicks in. It be good if you like compact car and intro to ev style drive.
Very cute car always whenever I see this model it always reminded me the Singaporean driver who I think tried to test his e-Pedal feature which ended up crashing into the multi storey car park wall
X-Trail, now Kicks are the previous generation models. The local market is more sophisticated and perhaps ETC should bring in the actual current models
I test drive the kick recently... I think The rear view digital meter is very good to have because the rear seat is on higher level than driver seat. I can notice the seat level immediately when i got inside the cabin which is good for passenger view and probably good for rear passenger air cond wind. I will provably buy this car despite no ac at the back
I was really hoping they'd bring in the Nissan Note. It would have been more affordable. Are malaysians that obsessed with SUVs that they wouldn't consider smaller vehicles like the Note?
im just hoping the range could be at least 1k km nedc & 0-100kmh time is at least at 7sec, almost comparable to eev. than it would be almost perfect ev range extender
Honda hrv rs ehev pun tak guna engine to drive tapi kena roadtax juga, saya pakai hrv hybrid... Nissan punye engine ni sama dgn hrv hybrid.. Engine tu utk charge the batt but at high speed engine will take over the batt
No. e:HEV drives the wheels at higher speeds. e-Power uses the electric motor at all times. There is no physical connection between the engine and the wheels. There is also no gearbox.
@@kunyitkgtak sama, beza sangat. Nissan epower ni adalah EV yg ada builtin charger 😅, ice hanya sebagai power generator. Electric motor dah mesh sekali dgn transmission. Sebab tu cc ice yg pakai epower ni kecik, 1.2cc, 1.4cc, electric motor sbg maindrive.
I’m very disappointed because this is the old model. In the USA, they are selling the new model which looks much better than this one. Why is Tan Chong Motors keep selling old models in this country?
I prefer the looks of this model to the US model which looks hideous to me. This one looks more elegant, subtly elegant. The US model looks awkward and peculiar, screaming, "look at me! I look different."
The 1.5-turbo 3-cylinder VC-turbo engine is fraught with problems. If it comes here it'll be a massive lemon. Many cases of premature bearing wear on the complicated variable compression linkage assemblies. Pistons on the VC system end up having freeplay and results in uneven stroke lengths and compression ratios across the three cylinders. Great concept and ingenious mechanism, but in practice you have an overly complex engine with high risk of premature failure.
I like the tech but the design overall looks pretty outdated for 2025. There are many cars more appealing. I wish they would have just brought in the next gen model.
The best best review in a long time. Very well articulated in simple to the point English. ❤❤❤❤
Very well articulated and comprehensive review.
had the opportunity to ride in this in Thailand and immediately noticed it's much quieter and comfortable than the HRV
We also noted its class-leading refinement and on-road confidence.
I own a Nissan Kicks E-Power and I must say “torque is definitely life!” 😁

Nissan is in deep financial trouble. Rumors have it that they can only survive for the next 14 months. I wonder about the impact on Tan Chong Motors.
To me this is not a hybrid since the engine was not used to drive the transmission. So this is technically an EV. Just not the typical plug-in EV.
it is called range extender
Very articulate bro. Nice! ❤

Very well said and make me understand better about e-Kick nissan car....had the test drive experience at ETC Glenmarie
Kicks as in kicking their last effort to make a miracle happen after all that happened
This e power is something new in our market, but ppl worry about Nissan.....
Very well present bro 👍👍
Nice video Aiman.
Just lacking rolling shots, unfortunately!
What a great host
It seems that the battery is constantly charging and discharging during the drive.... so won't that degrade the battery much faster??
18:20 Bridgestone Ecopia does the job pretty well...
Very cute car always whenever I see this model it always reminded me the Singaporean driver who I think tried to test his e-Pedal feature which ended up crashing into the multi storey car park wall
We have pedal misoperation alert, and AEB.
No diff from EVs...
wow, rear view screen.
That's what a lot of SUV needs to overcome the very limited rear view.
Hope more SUV copy this.

like having a Power Generator in the car boot.
Generate your own electricity.
Is it a good buy after nisan is strunggling in its sales and company

Yes.
Waiting for serena c28 epower to be launched in Malaysia.
I’m waiting for Serena E-Power
Malaysia need more small compact SUV.. ppl tired with big SUV.. wellcome Kicks.. join ativa n wrv
The Kicks is one segment larger than those two cars you mentioned.
@@MalaysianMotoring tq for d info.. tot same size with ativa n wrv
im just hoping the range could be at least 1k km nedc & 0-100kmh time is at least at 7sec, almost comparable to eev. than it would be almost perfect ev range extender
Which is more fuel efficient, Kick or Almera?. 😊
Shouldn't JPJ waive the roadtax fee? Technically it's not using engine to drive
Logically, yes. However...

As long isi petrol walau setitik tetap kena road tax
Had to squint, not even the new logo? That’s a bit curious given the lower bits in the cabin have been refreshed.
21:00 I would like to ask what’s the brand and model of wireless mic that you’re using Aiman?
It's some old model Comica. We don't actually remember which model exactly, the box was thrown away a long while ago.
@ I like the shape of that mic and have been guess searching on the internet what is it. Thanks for the reply, by the way.
The car is good but not sure if Nissan can survive or Tan Choong will be impacted
price how much ... thx
Please watch the video as we explain this already. Thx.
I’m very disappointed because this is the old model. In the USA, they are selling the new model which looks much better than this one. Why is Tan Chong Motors keep selling old models in this country?
Have you seen that new model in right-hand drive?
I prefer the looks of this model to the US model which looks hideous to me. This one looks more elegant, subtly elegant. The US model looks awkward and peculiar, screaming, "look at me! I look different."
1.5 cvt no e-power , not released in japan either , only lhd markets
Heard the battery is going to be ~8000, why so expensive for such a tiny battery!
That is left hand drive market... don't be too sour
Good for apartment owners 🫰🏻
Nissan X.-Trail e Power, e 4force would be a better model to come in to M'sia.
There are processes to everything.

Which location is this filmed? Is that Klebang beach?
Waiting xtrail version
Nissan ni bukan nak bungkus dah ke?
This car is 6 years too late for msia.... a shame actually, good tech, good size as an intro to EV without the range anxiety....
I like the tech but the design overall looks pretty outdated for 2025. There are many cars more appealing. I wish they would have just brought in the next gen model.
everyone has up their production and quality of presentation, but paultan still the same since 2008.
If it ain't broke...
But Nissan given a older generation car to Malaysia. Sad
it looks like volvo xc40 from the side
Is this the real deal?
140k? uh.....
Under RM130k.
@MalaysianMotoring ah, ok. but one may still choose hybrid from other make with that price imho.
Nissan Kicks e-POWER VL: RM113,800
Nissan Kicks e-POWER VLT: RM121,800
Nissan Kicks e-POWER VLT two-tone: RM125,800
IT IS SINGAPORE CARS!!
Your point being?
😅😅😊
Very late release in Malaysia
