Bought a used 2024 pathfinder this year and so far it’s been great. Fuel economy stinks sometimes but it’s fun to drive and very comfortable. Old reliable v6 and 9 speed transmission feels nice

I would check this out instead of HRV since we are still waiting for HRV Hybrid in the USA. This has the Sentra engine with MPI port and direct injection which should be good for lifespan. Nissan make their cars feel solid and substantial in a way that Toyota and Honda do not. I would prefer Corolla Cross Hybrid or HRV Hybrid but it's good there's diversity in the segment.

Great review. Funny how I always seem to agree with your comments on all vehicles. I had a Juke for 93,000 miles and loved it for years. Past 2 years I've had a 2019 HRV EX -L still doesn't have 30,000 miles. I'm really happy with it, but like how a Crosstrek drives better, and now this I must check out. Thanks Kirk. (bill)
I absolutely love my SR! One thing, if you want Remote Start, you must get the premium package. I didn't want/need all of that extra stuff, but didn't realize remote start was in it.
We also produce this in Indonesia, it's called Mitsubishi Xforce and we export it to Americas, Africa, ASEAN and the Arabs. A tough multi-purpose car, at an affordable price, and a very attractive design.
No one has really been acknowledging it, but since the Sentra, they have been knocking it out of the park with their interiors. I think the Rogue is only bested by the Mazdas and it’s not by that much, especially now with the 12” screen.
Anyone considering the Kicks should also check out the new 2025 Chevrolet Trax. It's just as improved versus the outgoing model as the new Kicks is versus the outgoing Kicks. The Kicks has an advantage of having a 4-cylinder engine whereas the Trax has a turbo 3-cylinder engine but the Trax has the advantage of having a regular automatic transmission rather than a CVT and so many people still have a bad taste in their mouth when it comes to Nissan/Jatco CVT's and rightfully so. Either way, it's still worth it to compare the Kicks with the new 2025 Chevy Trax since the Trax actually runs around $1400 LESS than the Kicks across the board.
Nissan waiting until 2026 to bring e-power to America isn’t the best decision they’ve made. Hopefully it’s refined and improved for America by the time it gets here.
I agree. The 2.0 is a good engine but not super efficient. Also the gas tank is super small for this segment and a lot of customers are complaining of low miles to emoty. (Around 200 to 250, again really low for the segment). The hybrid would hopefully fix these issues

This is why they did not bring it to the market so quickly .. As for their hybrids they had hybrids but it was not well received because people were not interested in hybrids at that time .. It is important to mention that the SR trim is the only trim that comes with alloy wheels(19 in). The middle trim comes with hubcaps. The most amazing hubcaps I have ever seen.

Did you notice a slight jingling/rattling when the engine is at 2000+ RPM? I just got a 2025 and there is a slight jingling coming from (sounds like under the car) at around 2000 RPM. It doesn't happen at 2000 RPM when the car is in neutral.
All-wheel drive with a short wheel base can shake a little sometimes, better tires may help, I also just purchased one, going to change the tires before winter, they don't look like they will do well in the snow.
Wait. . . it tells you the tire pressure in each of your tires? That's a game changer. I like my tire pressure monitor. I hate that I have to check all of the tires to figure out which one is setting it off.
I think this is going to shoot up to their #2 seller. They priced it right and the styling and interior seem a class above. But I also don’t think it needs a hybrid or more power. That’s what enthusiasts want. The people that are buying these are looking for something affordable… not power and as long as it’s getting 30+ mpg they’ll be happy. Not everyone wants to spend $40k on a car and drag race at every light. Let’s appreciate manufacturers building affordable cars and encourage them to keep building them! Kudos to Nissan for taking this upmarket without jacking up the price. And it’s so funny with every new car Nissan reveals the amount of comments that follow the script of “Yea… but CVT/Jatco” or “But does it have a CVT” which I’ve even seen in Armada video comment sections 🤦🏾♂️... Can we just give credit where it’s due? They are finally making better products, are they perfect, NO, but Nissan is on the right path and building much better product than a decade ago.
Once they got rid of Ghosn and his toadies, Nissan has been firing on most cylinders. This a great entry vehicle. I have hope for a new sedan and rework of the Rogue (engine).

Saw one of these in the showroom and I really like the look and the interior is nice. My opinion though is that Nissan should have used the turbo 3 from the Rogue. It just needs a little more power for passing and climbing highway hills….
A little tinny sounding , but over all Head and shoulders above any of its competitors, cost $3,000 less than the HRV, weighs 300 lb less, a lot faster, a lot better gas mileage, and more ground clearance. With a couple minor tweaks under the hood, one of the fastest SUVs on the road until you really get up there and price.

How soon it will fall apart, like the rest of Nissans? On the bright side, this 4 cylinder NA engine has better chance to outlive its Jatco CVT than the 3-cylinder VC Turbo in the Rogue. So, if the money on the hood covers a couple of transmission replacements, it might be a good buy.

I bought a 2025 Kicks on September 28. It’s been in the shop dead for 2-1/2 weeks. Nissan finally started the process to buy the car back from me yesterday. No loaner car. Their customer service has been terrible.
We’re at the point that safety ratings are splitting straws. The crash test agencies are having to find new ways to make it more difficult to pass, but the bar is being continually raised… so it’s safe to say a new car will for certain be safer than your old/current car(of course relative to size/class), otherwise it wouldn’t be on sale like Kirk said.

The Versa was sold for way less . The Sentra base model S was sold for less than $20K for like 3 years .. This at its base model is literally less than $22K in some state even $20K nothing more

Either you get a discount up front or good resale value. For the most part it balances out. But with markups on Toyotas, you’re getting screwed because the higher resale value doesn’t account for that. No one is going to care that you paid $2-3k+ more when you’re trying to sell it because demand was high when you bought it new.

If a car can't do 0-60 in 7sec range and 1/4 in 15 sec range it isn't safe. Just picture a/c on / let's say 2 or more people in the car and or items in the trunk. Now you have to get into lane or get out of the way//THERE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM [ BOTTOM-LINE]

I thought the MR20dd engine in this car only had Direct Injection? This engine also has EGR which many people are not fond of.

I have a 23 Kicks and, honestly, I love it. I liked my Rogue more because I enjoyed more room but I’ll be keeping my Licks for a few years at least.
Love my '20 Kicks as well.. more economical than the Rogue and looks better. My next vehicle may be a Subaru however, as I live in a snow belt area.

Another reviewer that can’t get in his head this a new vehicle bearing the name Kicks, not a revised version of the old version that is still on sale under the name Kicks Play. Most of all couldn’t understand or accept the previous version was a city dweller. A souped up Versa. Not a family of 4 a dog and a cat and golf bags for a sporty weekend. Now enjoy this bland Soul like Nissan.
No nonsense all common sense design. I wish it was named Rogue Sport 2, which is what this really is. The previous gen Kicks is still sold in hybrid form in Asia.

I didn’t hear you comparing this to the Toyota Cross base engine only hybrid……. Witch isn’t fair. Considering this engine is way smoother than the Toyotas in my experience!

If a car can't do 0-60 in 7sec range and 1/4 in 15 sec range it isn't safe. Just picture a/c on / let's say 2 or more people in the car and or items in the trunk. Now you have to get into lane or get out of the way//THERE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM

40 years ago 0-60 in 10 sec was awesome and no one had a problem merging
