I am with you on the panic button with Julio. His at bat against Kimbrel really shows where he is at. He has ZERO pitch recognition. He is guessing all the time. He fully expected to be pitched to the way everyone else has pitched him. And why wouldn't he? He has made it effective by constantly chasing the pitchers pitches every at bat, all season long. He has announced to the league that he is willing to get himself out the same way every at bat all year. SO when a pitcher DOES throw him a fastball.....he is usually late. Like he was against Kimbrel. 94 MPH got past him. He has no clue. Was expecting a slider away. Can't recognize it until it's too late. Until he lays off the slider away and the fastball off the plate inside.......it will continue to be a guessing game for him up there. This is not going away. He is not the first player to experience this. Some hitters figure it out and become better hitters by staying in the zone....others fade away and are the 'he should have been so much better' type players in retrospect. He is trending towards that right now. It's not too late....but .......he has shown absolutely NO sign of stopping having horrible at bat after horrible at bat. How many at bats a game is he sitting with the count at 0-2 or 1-2. It comes from chasing and sometimes being late as he is just guessing what is coming.

Adding hitters to the M’s lineup is pointless until the M’s figure out the reason that good hitters aren’t succeeding in Seattle. It is hit or miss with bats (more miss). My thought is that this offense has been bad for last 3 years. At the heart of it, Jarret De Hart has been the Director of Hitting strategy for the last 2.5 seasons, but has been with the organization for the last 7 years in hitting strategy. Jarret DeHart is young kid who started with the M”s at 22 years old, but he is now 29. Under his wing, the offense has been horrible. I think Jarret’s experience leaves something to be desired. Jarret has never been a pro-ball player so his experience has to be questioned. Puckett is correct about hitting under Dipoto, but this seems to overlap with Jarret in the organization. The M’s haven’t been a hitting juggernaut since the 2016 season but I give the M’s a pass during the rebuild. If they can’t figure these out, the M’s need to focus on adding pitching in particular a leverage arm in the bullpen. In this way, if the M’s can’t score as much runs, at least they can’t prevent runs or hold leads via the relief pitching.

Can't wait for the show to be back, even if it is only 3 days a week.

Thank you!! All season I’ve thought, man he seemed more comfortable hitting leadoff, he seemed to like being the table setter or the occasional lead off homer. JP isn’t doing anything that warrants him moving out of the 1 spot being criminal

If the M's minor league talent don't develop into big league bats when they get called up, and the free agents and acquired players fall off a cliff when joining this squad, isn't the problem residing with the man who is in charge of the team? Servais has benefitted from multiple years where the team went on historic winning streaks to salvage their seasons. He has to be the first to go.

I think we need to understand that Julio is not that guy. He is a good player but he is not a superstar. At this point he may just be who he is now. I personally don't care what they do anymore. Even with trades they won't win. They won't keep anyone because they won't spend the money. They are a loser franchise that makes a ton of money. Why would they do anything to change that? People still show up. People still buy Mariner gear. The only reason they lead the division is that everyone else has played worse than the mariners. Like who cares at this point. I mean let's say they somehow make the playoffs. They can't win a series with the better teams. There is no window for a world series because they do not have the talent.

At least, misery enjoys company as the NYY are 4-13 and are 0-5-1 over 6 series. It took 6 series to knock the NYY out of 1st place. The Reds swept the Yankees in Yankee stadium. How worse can that be with 2 MLB superstars in Aaron Judge and Juan Soto on the team? Are the M’s headed into the same fate? Social media is just as bad as the M’s. The NYY social media are calling for Cashman’s head as well Boone’s head. It is very visceral.

The players that the M’s covet won’t be available until the deadline. Jason Puckett knows this. Puckett is just stirring the pot. The Blue Jays know that the Astros and NYY want Vlad. The Blue Jays will holdout for the best package out there from among the bidding teams. The M’s hands are tied.
