Thanks Snug! It was so much fun to build, and it was a new experience for me by collaborating with my wife. We have plans to build at least two more projects like this together. One of them will be a makeover of the Firefly Relic Strat that I reviewed. It's been sanded down and primed, but it has a bit to go before we put it back together. But this one has been groundbreaking for me... we broke some rules and found out that there aren't rules; you can try anything and make whatever you want... Thanks for watching!!!
It is possible to build a really great guitar by selecting ones individual parts. I've got a Strat Partscaster that is super! ( Built by a builder I'd never met.
Hey Gene, thanks for watching... Isn't it amazing how versatile the Strat styled guitar is? There are so many possibilities, yet there's still the wonderful classic configuration that is so hard to beat. I have mostly Strats in my collection... Some have humbuckers and others have special switching options, both with and without tremolos, I like them all! I just don't get tired of Strats. Aren't they great!!!
@@RaymondLandis My "Partscaster", is gloss black, with a Birdseye maple neck, with the real large Fender peg head. A "Gilmore" mod, pull the vol. knob up....to get all 3 pickups,..sounds Super!
Hey man, thanks for watching! I believe I got this neck early last spring from Howell Guitar. They're a seller on Ebay that I've purchased from a few times and they've been consistently good... Here is their link: www.ebay.com/usr/howellguitar
You were right! I kept thinking about what you said and decided to try a bit of elbow grease with compound, and it was amazing how it changed the appearance. It's still not perfect but it shines a lot better than before... Thanks for your honest input, and as always, thanks for watching!!!
@@bluwng LOL... that's a riot! Yeah, those relics have all kinds of things going on... Love 'em or hate 'em ---They are what they are! Anyway...we knew that this one was going to be something in-between a relic and a "less-than-refined" finished product... But once again, it was so satisfying to build, and it plays so nice... My hope with this channel is to encourage players to step-out and try something different... Thanks for watching!!! Stay blessed!!!
Great looking guitar!

You need to buff out that finish. A lot of imperfections in it. Sorry.
