Thank you. My in-laws home is too cold and too hot on summer, and they had a company put insulation in the attic and this is in California. Thank you for the tip I will fix this issue, since they are retire and this is the home all of us come visit. Thank you for the tip.
I have a very cold room in the winter and hot in the summer. This room is above an open carport where the ceiling has been insulated with Roxul. We have also put down carpeting with underlay to help to stop the cold and heat. I am wondering what else we can do. We have checked the wall for insulation and have found them to be insulated as well. What else can we do?
Interesting. Have you checked the room for air leakage using a blower door and/or a smoke puffer? Does the room have windows or exterior doors? My guess would be that you have air leakage rendering the insulation ineffective.
Tod I wish I had found your Co. when I was looking for contractors in Pelzer SC. We ended up buying an R and L modular with a unfinished attic. After we get our COO to move in we are going to get a spray foam contractor to insulate the attic. Does your company do your own spray foam or do you have a sub contractor do it? If you use a sub can you share their name or contact information?
@@AddisonHomes The ducts are in the crawl space. I am going to encapsulate the crawl space and foam the attic. We have 2X6 walls. I think it should be somewhat good for SC. weather.
I see the building inspector was really on the ball when that project was built.
They are primarily focused on major life/safety issues - as this indicates!

You are so welcome!
Has the insulation helped?

Thanks for the compliment! We actually avoid spray foam when we can. More to come on this in an upcoming video. Where are your ducts located?
