- Only on FOX, dozens of people all over the country say they gave thousands to a Houston woman to publish their books and they got little to nothing in return. FOX 26's Randy Wallace dug into their claims and talked to several victims who say they're out of money.

Ugh. The expensive lesson of vanity presses. It's hard to get published traditionally, but it's absolutely possible. It's easier with an agent, but there are plenty of smaller traditional publishers that are very approachable. If your work is good, you will be paid for it. You should NEVER pay (other than buying wholesale copies and your portion of the marketing, but a good publisher typically spends $15,000-$30,000 on marketing). I hope this helps the dreamers out there NOT get scammed.
It’s ok, surely you didn’t fork over THOUSANDS of dollars without signing a legal contract.

There were contracts. She chose not to honor them. And has yet to face any consequences.
We (the authors who were scammed) would love to see Krista make this right, but legal recourse is inaccessible. So we are putting the word out for others to stay away from Krista (she’s currently trying to run a “digital marketing” scam).
