To answer your questions....
- Mermaid Tales is okay to watch, it just has the same characters as MyStreet, but there are no spoilers.
- Minecraft Diaries is okay to watch as well, it's actually the reason MyStreet exists. It has the same characters, but not many spoilers. Though, it is long, so maybe you should watch the whole of MyStreet first :)
- Don't ask about Ein... he's apart of A LOT of MyStreet drama so I recommend you don't look into Ein until you watch both Phoenix Drop High Season 2 and MyStreet Emerald Secret.
- Garroth isn't that manly but okay... XD (In my opinion, Laurance is more manly than him)
- Lucinda isn't very popular in the first season, but the more you watch, the more you find out about that wonderful witch!
- Yes, the story gets more intense as you go along... and most of it is because of Ein, which is probably why your friend hates him.
- Minecraft Diaries is VERY intense and involves a lot of killing and massacre and more things intended for older people.
- They're werewolves, not just wolves in Phoenix Drop High, and Aphmau's in their class because of a mix-up.
By the way, THANK YOU FOR DRAWING LAURANCE! HE'S MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER BUT PEOPLE ARE FORGETTING ABOUT HIM BECAUSE HE'S NOT IN MANY RECENT EPISODES SO THANK YOUUUUUU! YOU'RE KEEPING HIS SPIRIT ALIVE!

Also, I have a question for you: If you had to pick a charater from MyStreet to compare yourself to who would it be and why?
MCD is the most intense. Then mystreet emerald secret is probably second up. And in every series there's people called meifwa:cat people, witches/warlocks: I'm sure you know what that is, werewolf's: wolf people, and magick users: people who can use magic

Here a suggestion to what to watch in what order::
You can watch MCD her original roleplay or Mermaid Tales if you want. Those are not connected with Mystreet.
But if you want to watch the stuff in a suspenseful way I say you should scroll through her videos and watch them in the way she uploaded them. Those are the real ways she connects the things of action and suspense. You don’t want to know too much too early.

Actually, technically MCD is, PDH is a prequel to MyStreet and Aph didn't even think of it until, like, the middle of MyStreet season 1. XD MCD is where all of the characters originated and the way some of them are personality-wise is VASTLY different than how they are in MS and PDH. MS and PDH are AUs of MCD.

minecraft dieries (MCD: is VERRY BERRY intense, but also fun. the 1st season is more survival than roleplay, but still a lot of roleplay.
mystreet(MS) 1: just.. cool and .. yeah just cool
MS 2: in this season they do real voiceactors and models (like werewolf of meif'wa ears)
MS 3: yeahh cool too just... cool
MS 4: REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY INTENSE (side note THIS MADE ME CRY SO MUCH AND I ALMOST TREW MY LAPTOP OUT OF THE WINDOW FROM MIXED EMOTIONS.)
MS 5: this one is my favourite cause they're doing minecraft mod stuff thats incredeble
Phioenix drop high(PDH) 1: aphmau's going to high school and this series is based on her life.
PDH 2: a other season with the worst person ever introduced
