Even if she lost, so happy to have Halep back. She's been through so much in recent years that just being back on tour is a victory on its own. I'm sure she will improve as she plays more events.
I’m just so happy to see Halep’s back on this channel 😭 this is her first comeback , it’s understandable but her winning the first set gives a lot of hope for what the future is holding. Excited to see where’s going next

I am so happy to see Simona back! She played solid tennis after being so long out, impressive! She needs a few adjustments, more matches but the passion is there, the fight is there and the level will improve! Such a joy to see this woman playing again! 💪👏❤️
The first round for Halep facing Badosa was really a touch first draw. Based on the fact that Halep was out for almost two years, playing without a coach, this was a very good performance. She needs a coach and she will do better.
Tough draw? They all play well now, every match is a hard fought battle. That being said, Badosa is far from her top ten level, she's ranked 81.
yes and even if she won this match she would have to face sabalenka in the 2nd round
I honestly don't think someone like Halep "needs" a coach. She just needs to get into competitive fitness form and she will be back in the top 10 in no time. The quality of players these days are laughable.

@@pee-buddy You're more likely to see flying pigs on the sky than Simona in the top-10. The level of women's tennis is currently too high for Simona to be there. The same case is with Woznacky, Kerber and Naomi...
halep's second serve was awful, the return was better than expected, i think its a good match after 569 days
Yep, way too many double faults. And way too many short balls. Against top 20 players, those would result in a lot of winners for those opponents.
That is just another collateral damage of being at the Mouratoglu academy...
It was clearly hard for Halep to go three sets without her 'collagen'.

I post a part of it here, using Google translate: "When I went to the academy, I totally believed in the people I worked with. That's what I've always done. I see some comments that Halep needs a coach. I don’t even think it’s that.. her level is obviously there… she needs match play to get her stamina back. But all round fantastic from one of the best. Watch out ladies. She’s back.
At that level of playing in pro tour, a coach is mandatory. To have a team to improve your level of playing

Halep looks good! those groundstrokes are powerful as ever, I think as she gets more matches her consistency will increase and she will be a force, 6-1 set after not playing for 2 years says a lot about her level! Congrats to Badosa as well who has been struggling as of late
Finally, it is amazing to watch my top favorite female tennis competitor along with Iga Swiatek. I am really blissful with the marvellous comeback of Simona HALEP. If 1.5 years of Halep hadn't been fritterred away due to the rigid interdiction, she would have definitely attained the massive achievements and prodigious championships as part of the continuum. Despite the absence, she had never neglected the trainings and working with the regularity in order to remain at the top level and maintaining her ideal form and efficiency.
As to the game and performance assessment, she really looks nimble, agile and active. There is no a vast downswing which is commonly observed on Simona. She and her squad will keep practicing in a hard way. It was a lopsided matchup for Romanian tennis player against Badosa but it stems from the low standing in the WTA World Ranking. Even though it was the first official clash, Simona has compelled her capacity and frontiers on the court and contending till the last point for each ball. It points out that she will plainly nurture her agility and movement in the following periods of 2024 season in order to compete more valiant, unyielding and dauntless than most of the robust adversaries. She needs a head practitioner to develop her mobility and flexibility on the pitch. She has multiple potentials to reach the highest scale with the time. Simona Halep was absolutely onoe of the most consistent tennis competitors in the women's tennis. For that reason, I am confident that she will perpetuate her consistency and presence in the transnational organizations and events as well as grand slam tennis tourneys.

Despite her match rustiness Halep still put up a good performance. Kudos to both players for a thrilling match. Throughout her period of her suspension we missed Halep. She is such a good and entertaining player that WTA needs her in the mix right now. However I hope this will be the last time we shall be hearing excuses of ignorance about contents of athlete’s supplements. I wish to suggest that WTA generates a list of supplements from which the players can choose. Anyone going outside of that invites sanction. Hopefully that will put some check on the players. Welcome back Simona 👏

She shouldn’t be aware of any rule changes or anything that can get herself in trouble with WTA? Thats the same argument the cheating Sharadopa said too. All other sports are held accountable for their actions: football, basketball, baseball-they all know what they can and cannot take if they don’t want any consequences but tennis players who by the way are only on the court alone, they can blame the coaching staff for everything. How ridiculous. If she got into trouble it’s because of HER. She had the responsibility to make sure everything she does is legal.
