We weren't leaning toward the MDX because it had a more sporty look and we liked the upscale exterior elegance of the QX60. At the Acura dealership we sat inside the MDX and it was like we were Captain Kirk on the enterprise. It hugged us giving that cockpit feel. We were impressed but not enough to not go to Infiniti. At Infiniti we entered the QX60 and both my wife and I looked at each other and we knew the infatuation was gone. The QX60 interior was beautiful, but we didn't get that same feeling as we did behind the wheel of the MDX. It didn't help that the sales manager there was obnoxious. He asked our budget and we told him. His reply was that we should go across their lot to their Nissan store and get a Pathfinder. It completely turned my wife off. He should have known better than to assume a person's financial status. Only a fool walks into a dealership and says "I m here to pay full market price and all your markups are fine!" We excused ourselves from that Jim Coleman showroom and made our way back to Acura and made our deal on a fully loaded 2023MDX with a few exterior accessories to complete the look. It's now been three weeks and we love our new ride. We came so close to getting the QX60 and I still love it, but it just didn't end up being for us.
Infiniti did a really good job on this one. The exterior design looks sharp and and well proportioned, the interior looks elegant and classy with nice materials. Test drove one and immediately impressed by how it drives. It’s smooth, quiet and refined. We have an MDX as well but I like the driving feel of the QX60 better. The interior is just so elegant. And the Tech and infotainment is way better. We immediately traded our other vehicle for the QX60. Also it is important to note that the particular model shown has no towing package installed as manufactured. The default towing capacity is 3500lbs, you will have to add the towing package for additional $900 to tow to upto 6000lbs. There is a sensory package, but there’s also sensory with vision package, and then sensory with vision and towing package.
I have one and I absolutely love it! I have had the 60 red sport, and 2 50s. The new entertainment system is such an upgraded look. I feel like I’m in a spaceship compared to the old design. It looks electric but of course it’s not. It’s so nice to drive with my baby!
Not sure if you were being funny when you said “this isn’t a pathfinder it’s a qx60”. The Nissan pathfinder platinum trim has everything this car with a few differences including massage seats, a multimedia knob, full led back lights. The pathfinder has 2 things this one doesn’t, fog lights and 3 seat third row sofa. I thought qx 60 didn’t have vented seats in the second row, is this available on the autograph trim?
Also, check out the MDX. I had every intention of buying the QX60. It is gorgeous, my only gripe being the front grille. Instead of widening at the base, I would prefer it narrowing. I ended up with the MDX only because of the commanding cockpit sensation it gave me behind the wheel that I didn't get behind the QX60. My wife also felt the same way. But everyone has different needs, and sometimes you don't know your needs until you look at your options. If I had never steeped foot inside the MDX I wouldn't have known. The MDX spoke to us in a way the QX60 didn't. Having said that, I take nothing away from the QX60, beautiful in and out. Best wishes in your hunt!
@@s.patterson5698 thank you! I actually have looked at the new MDX but not sat in it. From the outside it looked a little cramped. Thoughts? But it’s surely a beauty. The price point is pretty much identical to the QX.
@Oh, Hey Bih! It wasn't cramped for me, but that varies from individual to individual. I personally love the cockpit sensation I felt. The QX60 was super nice, but I wasn't feeling it behind the wheel. Yes, definitely keep an eye on the inventory aspect and price flexibility. When I got to the dealership, I already had a price in mind that I was willing to pay. I took the MSRP, added the options I wanted, and then subtracted about 4 grand from that, which is roughly around what the invoice price would be. Then I added a thousand for their profit ( they have many ways of making a profit, sometimes the invoice price isn't a true tell on what the vehicle cost them. They can make a profit through financing as well as sales incentives the manufacturer gives them for vehicle sales, hence the reason why the end of the month is a good time to go shopping. They can sell a vehicle for below invoice price and still make a couple grand or more on it.) The salesman quoted me price 6 grand higher than what I had in mind. But I stuck to my price because I knew it was fair, and I knew they were still making a profit. He even brought out the sales manager. We finally settled on 200 bucks above what I had in mind. And I said no to all those additional fees except the typical paperwork fee. When you know you are making a fair offer don't ever feel pressured. I got up a couple times to leave, but they wouldn't let me because they knew I was serious about buying and that my price was within their profit margin. Having said all of that, do go and sit inside the MDX. It may not be for you, but you will only know for sure when you do. Happy shopping!!!
If I needed a third row, this SUV would be on the shortlist, now. The prior year's model had the hideous pair of turkey oven pans attached to the rear bumper. I am glad that they focus-grouped the design and got rid of them. I think it would look even better without those faux exhausts, but what's on there now is a huge improvement.
I would want smaller wheels, not larger. The more sidewall, the softer the ride. But then, I grew up in the 1960's and 70's where 15" wheels were large (except some big pickup trucks had 16" wheels) - most cars had 14" wheels.
Don't understand why Nissan and Infiniti are dropping the fog lights on all their models. Doesn't seem like it would be an expensive add-on for something that makes a big difference in inclimate weather. 🤷
I forget which company it was, but an engineer answered this question and basically said that modern headlights are becoming advanced enough that the fog lights essentially become redundant.
The MDX Type S does have a massaging passenger seat as well. Both the front seats are identical in form and function on that vehicle. Just in case someone wanted to know when comparing these two SUVs. Happy car shopping.

In the interior, the center of the steering wheel looks like it was designed to be leather wrapped... add some suede to the seats, dash and roof, ventilated rear seats, maybe even massaging seats, adaptive suspension. I wonder if there was supposed to be a "Monograph" trim above the Autograph but they scrapped or delayed it due everything being so high due to inflation and the shortages?
Most people wouldn’t know what “monograph” even means. I hope Infiniti doesn’t call this potential too level trim monograph. I wouldn’t want to buy it. My Mazda CX-9 lease is up in a couple of months. I drove the QX60 Saturday afternoon and liked it other than the steering is more loose than I’m used to with Mazdas. Don't let the touchpad dissuade you. It's a breeze. Frankly, if Acura was smart they would have also made it use touchscreen for those who feel the need to lean forward. I love the feeling of leaning back and navigating the screen with the touchpad, it's like I am James T. Kirk on the Enterprise. Having used WACOM'S drawing tablets with and without the screen, I do understand the more naturalness of looking at a screen where your finger/stylus is, but in this setting, functionality of leaning back trumps leaning forward. This comes from a guy who prefers to drawing on a screen tablet where my stylus is, over looking up at a monitor and away from my stylus. To say it another way...if Acura was smart, and sometimes I question their IQ, and they had the infotainment use both options, I would still primarily use the touchpad. BTW, I did almost buy the QX60 but when I sat behind the wheel I just didn't get that same driver's vibe as with the MDX. But that just boils down to preference. The Audi Q7 is nice and the one I might have gotten IF I was leasing. Audis are great while under warranty.
I was so anxious about this review. Especially since you guys wasn’t at the media drive for it. Ofc this is just the second model year so I wasn’t surprised to see many changes. However I’m having a hard time believing that the exterior body cladding is Grey. It looks like a black plastic. The interior is nice. Miles apart from the pervious gen. It’s also pretty generic. It blends in which is long a bad thing but it is pretty bland. The caramel looking interior and is my favorite color. Overall great review as always you 2!
They were mistaken on the lower trim change... The lower front and rear bumper trim changed. It used to be chrome on the Sensory and Autograph, but people complained that it looks like terribly fake exhaust tips in the rear. Kinda wish they didn't listen to the compliants in this case as the chrome kinda elevated the design. But I have seen a few of these on the road and it has a lot of presence in person that doesn't come through in photos and video. Each time its caught my eye, particualy a fully loaded one in this color with the black roof. I literally said wow out loud to my own surprise.
@@bigd7386chrome is really a dated thing that belong on Buick, Caddy, Chrysler. Most young generations want chrome blacked out. I certainly will pass on tons of bright plastic
Love all of it except those fake exhaust ports. Looks worse when it’s chrome as it really draws attention to it. I wonder if you can wrap that in vinyl..
Woo hoo! Finally ditched the CVT. A step forward. But really, Infiniti looks more like a brand that is just above Nissan and just below…a luxury brand.
That’s actually typical with electronic shifters. My last two BMWs work that way as well. You get used to it very quickly. Pulling forward from park is a quick and simple back shift.
@@flavoredmoney8755 Yes the Palisade had a better warranty but it’s a Hyundai, it probably won’t even make it to 100,000 miles without serious issues. I believe the 9 speed auto in this car is made by Honda and it has the tried and true Nissan 3.5 L V6 engine so this will way out last any Hyundai. I highly doubt the Palisade is more luxurious than this, I can’t speak for the tech because that’s not important. Also Hyundai dealerships are charging 50 to 60 grand for most Palisades, plus the insurance rates are higher than any other brand because of Hyundais incredibly high risk of theft and fires so it probably be about the same price if not less for the Infiniti. The Infiniti is the clear winner.

Recently bought a QX60 2023 (Autograph), it looks pretty nice, but has a lot of problems....hope someone can help me... 1- The outside rearview mirrors vibrate or shake slightly while driving, mostly on the driver's side. 2- at 7:00 pm (sunset) when the auto dim system is engaged automatically (light sensor), it's impossible to see any control on the Climate control panel, I need to set the dim Instrument Brightness Control to the maximum position to see what's going on! 3- When Shift to parking, sometimes, the unlock doors function doesn't work. When you set it on ÏGINITION OFF" it works fine.
I have a question about fog lights. Ik that brands are getting rid of them but does that mean they’re getting rid of it separately or are they adding it to the headlight cluster? Ik VW puts the fog lamps within the low beams wit their headlight system. I just now wondered.
If the Infiniti feels cheap, you probably shouldn’t have bought one. Unless you have a Honda cr v or something. I have a 2023 Qx60 and it feels and looks luxurious and the drive is amazing.
Touch controls should be illegal in autos. They require driver to take eyes off the road and create a safety hazard. Mechanical buttons, knobs and switches only!
My QX60 2023 has a poor quality car seat leather. It stretches and wrinkles remarkably after just 3,000 miles. My dealership replaced it with a new leather but they could not make it flat. The new leather still has big waves and wrinkles on the surface. They refused to repair it further. Does anyone has the same issue? What should I do?
A bit disappointed that safety features are not standard. On top of that, they dare to charge a markup?! Are people really desperate for this overpriced Nissan? I rather go with a Genesis.
I feel like at $65K the QX60 is harder to sell, but discounted to $60K or low 50s it makes a good case for itself. Let’s be honest, most of the luxury cars in this class primarily make their case by having nice interior materials and prestige that comes with having a car from X luxury nameplate, not adding features over their non-luxury counterparts. Which the QX60 does well, other than the suede headliner, this has noticeably nicer materials than the Palisade and Telluride, with nice touches like real wood/aluminum trim compare to the faux trims in the Hyundai and Kia.
Not a chance. Looking for a new SUV after my dealer maintained 2013 JX35 is trash due to a rusted out sub-frame and transmission error codes. Go screw!!!!
This car lacks behind as a (luxury) car, I don't know about the US but here in the Middle East it is priced really high and I would rather buy many other cars, it doesn't have lights in cargo area to illuminate the area at night, the ambient lighting is really disappointing and only get it on higher trims, and the technology in the screens are really yesteryear, no thank you
These luxury brands should feel bad for locking safety features behind trim levels. Like having to go up to the 3rd trim to get lane keeping assist? LMAO. You can get that on a base model Hyundai Elantra.
Have they updated the transmission? I have a 2018 QX60 and it's a damn lemon. Bad transmission. And now the monitor is out. Do better Infiniti! No more Infiniti for me.
Some 2023 models have bad fuel pumps. Apparently Infiniti is looking into this issue and have not issue a recall. IT IS A VERY CRITICAL PROBLEM, VERY ANNOYING TO SCARRY, ESPECIALLY WHEN ONE TRAVELS WITH THE FAMILY AND THE FUEL PUMP SUDDENLY STARTS TO MAKE A SHARP SOUND. 7253 KMS, I have counted more than 3 serious problems, and 11 bugs. This SUV is a CRAP. Does anyone want to see the complete list of manufacturing defects?
Nothing inside makes any sense. All the features are so weirdly place. The only thing that looks good and make sense are the interior material. The shift knob is really an odd ball. The exterior is even more awkward looking. That cheap window shade feature is just terribly junk. I'd much rather have a full tint window than that mediocre slide up shade.

But I have seen a few of these on the road and it has a lot of presence in person that doesn't come through in photos and video. Each time its caught my eye, particualy a fully loaded one in this color with the black roof. I literally said wow out loud to my own surprise.
**weren’t?”**
No
Woo hoo! Finally ditched the CVT. A step forward. But really, Infiniti looks more like a brand that is just above Nissan and just below…a luxury brand.
I love the 2023 Infiniti QX60
Love the Inifiniti QX60 luxurious very nice Love Drew
Who thought it a good idea to move the shifter up to go backwards and shift back to go forward???
That’s actually typical with electronic shifters. My last two BMWs work that way as well. You get used to it very quickly. Pulling forward from park is a quick and simple back shift.
Yea I drove one today and it was confusing
Can you please do the comparison video between QX60 and the new 2023 Hyundai Palisade Caligraphy?
Palisade is better imo..
@@flavoredmoney8755 in what world is the palisade better than this? Lmfao
@@Anonymous-ji4sb better tech and more luxurious.. same power output, better warranty and cheaper!
@@Anonymous-ji4sb maybe watch a palisade calligraphy trim video.. it's like a Benz inside.. heated and ventilated caotains chairs, heated 3rd row with ac controls, power folding seats in 3rd row, etc.. just like u said it a regular car brand vs a luxury car brand.. the qx60 looks like a Nissan inside its not much better than a pathfinder.. and for thefts it's only on base models that have a key and no push start, as for reliability and fires you are tight on that.. however I have a 2018 sonata with 92,000 on it and no issues so far.
Still the good first SUV for me to drive one.
Excellent review as per usual!😸
Recently bought a QX60 2023 (Autograph), it looks pretty nice, but has a lot of problems....hope someone can help me...
1-
The outside rearview mirrors vibrate or shake slightly while driving, mostly on the driver's side.
2-
at 7:00 pm (sunset) when the auto dim system is engaged automatically (light sensor),
it's impossible to see any control on the Climate control panel, I need to set the dim Instrument Brightness Control to the maximum position to see what's going on!
You don’t need fog lights. The head lights are so flipping good it’s unreal
Anyone had a QX60 for a a year or so now and if so how has the quality been so far? Thinking hard on getting Autograph this week .....
Is it bigger then previous model?
Very much satisfied with Acura MDx❤
Can you tell me if the wireless phone charger will work through a phone case? I know Mazda's wireless charger will not work through a case.
that’s not how it works. all wireless chargers look the same, it’s a matter of the case you use. certain cases are incapable of wireless charging
It should work fine. During the review it changed up both of our phones through their plastic/leather cases
@@CarConfections It all comes down to the case, anyways. Most cases these days are Qi compatible
MDX is still a winner. Infinity still feels cheap.
Nope qx60 has better interior quality then mdx...
The interior of the QX60 is also more attractive
If the Infiniti feels cheap, you probably shouldn’t have bought one. Unless you have a Honda cr v or something. I have a 2023 Qx60 and it feels and looks luxurious and the drive is amazing.
Why are there no fog lights?
Touch controls should be illegal in autos. They require driver to take eyes off the road and create a safety hazard. Mechanical buttons, knobs and switches only!
All autograph 2023 QX60 change front and rear bumper to dark grey?
model 2023 is manufactured from which month thanks a lot
My QX60 2023 has a poor quality car seat leather. It stretches and wrinkles remarkably after just 3,000 miles. My dealership replaced it with a new leather but they could not make it flat. The new leather still has big waves and wrinkles on the surface. They refused to repair it further. Does anyone has the same issue? What should I do?
What trim is yours ?
I bought seat covers on day 1 - cover the damage and prevent new damage
is the space bigger than x7?
Nope.
Any opinions from anyone..... Smooth ride and comfy seats for a fat guy: 2023 qx60, or. MDX Advance? Thanks
No more CVT, Yessssss that's the best selling point.
Beautiful car
Is this a reliable car ?
Lets talk about the head rest...are they comfortable they dont look it.
What color is this ?
" infiniti lineup over the last decade has seen a lot of changes"
Are you sure you are talking about Infiniti?
Man these cars are getting expensive.
Very nice SUV but to certain extent the outlook has strong shadow of Toyota Highlander.
Damn I just got a 2017 qx50 and compared to this it's basically a model T lol
A bit disappointed that safety features are not standard. On top of that, they dare to charge a markup?! Are people really desperate for this overpriced Nissan? I rather go with a Genesis.
And what's about reliability?
Still not as good as the telluride palisade gv80 MDX aviator xc90
But I’d much prefer this to the new 2023 Lexus RX without hesitation
This car lacks behind as a (luxury) car, I don't know about the US but here in the Middle East it is priced really high and I would rather buy many other cars, it doesn't have lights in cargo area to illuminate the area at night, the ambient lighting is really disappointing and only get it on higher trims, and the technology in the screens are really yesteryear, no thank you
they should offer it without the third row........ think about it
U need some nice background music bro
Car super how much Indian price
Could you compare a Qx60 with a new Mazda Cx-90 please 😂
I find the exterior not so pleasing and nothing to be amazed of!….still boxy and old story…the interior is just normal nothing to say a WOW factor!
Reminds me of a toyota highlander
These luxury brands should feel bad for locking safety features behind trim levels. Like having to go up to the 3rd trim to get lane keeping assist? LMAO. You can get that on a base model Hyundai Elantra.
Can we do the new Audi A3 and A4 please🥺
Some Audi content coming soon 👍
@@CarConfections Thank you, cant wait to see it!
Have they updated the transmission? I have a 2018 QX60 and it's a damn lemon. Bad transmission. And now the monitor is out. Do better Infiniti! No more Infiniti for me.
This is a redesign it has a traditional 9 speed auto instead of a cvt.
21:40 - starts driving
Barely a better interior than my platinum 22 pathfinder
Excellent video
Thank you!
Why can I hear the engine? That’s not good
Some 2023 models have bad fuel pumps.
7253 KMS,
I have counted more than 3 serious problems, and 11 bugs.
This SUV is a CRAP.
Does anyone want to see the complete list of manufacturing defects?
Best car
Rear window wiper should be hidden!! 😩
This is their best product and you wonder why Genesis is outselling Infiniti. Talk about being starved for product.
Nive SUV but the only thing I don't like is those fake mufflers.
💯💯❤️
Nothing inside makes any sense. All the features are so weirdly place. The only thing that looks good and make sense are the interior material. The shift knob is really an odd ball. The exterior is even more awkward looking. That cheap window shade feature is just terribly junk. I'd much rather have a full tint window than that mediocre slide up shade.
The QX 60 is beautiful, but it is a glorified pathfinder at the end of the day.
Infiniti pathfinder??
Whoever you are BYE! You can say that about every Japanese higher end car/SUV. To include Acura and Lexus....WE ALREADY KNOW!....have a seat ✌🏽
Thank goodness they got rid of the cvt tranny
👌🏼
