I wish I could afford that lens, with one of the newer Sony bodies
I’ve been wanting to get that lens for a while, but with Sigma refreshing a lot of their lens lineup I’m afraid they will release an updated DG DN version that’s lighter with improved optics. Just picked up the 70-200mm DG DN OS Sport and it’s really slick and now seriously considering the new 50mm 1.2 DG DN Art.
quite possibly the best lens ever built...
I wanted that lens but then found an alternative for apsc the viltrox 75mm f1.2

Remember when i went to college in Brisbane and took a trip to Melbourne. Four seasons in 12 hours. From the beach to puffer jacket to rain jacket back to T-shirt before lunch😂 great POV!

Been a fan of yours for years now Mike, you inspired me to pick up my dads old canon 20d and take my first photos, now shooting with an a7iii (soon to upgrade to an a7IV) and am lucky enough to do it as a part time job at 17! Thanks for all your content and advice over the years, and still to this day nothing beats some silky smooth rainy street photography 😍
My favorite lens. Bought it as soon as it came out and find any and every way I can use it to be absolutely amazing. For portraits and bokeh it’s stunning… for car photography, it gives the perfect amount of environment while compressing the background enough to really make a shot pop.
These images are off the charts.

Great video, love the effect with the Sherlock Holmes model in the rain. The best accessory for Sony Hot Shoe in the rain is a Nikon BS-3 Hot Shoe cover. It does a way better job than the standard Sony one. Mind you, any Hot Shoe cover in the rain avoids that message and protects the camera’s electronics.

I'm really thinking about getting the 105 myself. The Sigma 85mm is the lens with my favorite focal length. But I often find myself wanting a tiny bit more reach, but not quite 135mm. It's not on my priority list for now though.
Edit: Also, you got some AMAZING shots. My favorite is the one with Limon standing in the middle of the street with the two trams in the background

Fair question, I've also tried once to take some photos in the rain, but front element of the lens was completly full of drops of watter. How does you photos came without any "water distorsion"?
Great question! Generally with to higher compression lenses you're less likely to see the water drops in the frame, I also ceramic coated the front of my lens so water slides off. You can also use a lens hood to minimise this too!

Really how waterproof is the A7rIV ? From the looks of it, you could probably dump it in water and it would survive
I'll let you know when I finally break it haha, I've been shooting in rain and snow storms with no protection since 2019 and its still working like its new! haha
Put a piece of gaffers tape over your hot shoe after you dry it proper. Never get that error again!
i bought some extra hot-shoes if that still doesn't work I'll try this! haha cheers
@@NorthBorders Throw them in the bin! Gaffers tape FTW!!! I still got water in my hot shoe with the covers. My camera looks like something out of Road Warrior though. I know tape isn't for everyone.

What are the chances that you can walk us through your thoughts process either during the photo walk or afterwards to do a recap?…Although…afterwards might be cheating because then you can BS for the photos that turned out well 😂.
