The audio quality of this was literally so impeccable. The way you could hear the knife work so crisp and clean. 😮💨 I love you Nate thank you for your service not only to the cows but for tucking me into bed for the past year or so 😂
I make a somewhat similar sound as that of the calves when I don’t get my daily Dr Pepper. Great job, I’m so glad you were able to help her continue to heal. 💚💚
Nate, you are my absolute favorite hoof trimmer. I love your shows and how much you care about those sweet cows before watching you. I had no idea the cows even needed any type of foot care and I see your subscribers are growing and growing so pretty soon you’ll be over 1 million yay🎉
I like that you do voice-over. It tells me that while you're trimming, you're concentrating on the hoof in front of you and not on the video. I also like that you take the time to explain what's going on with the animals around you. In this case, the weanlings hollering in the background. Thank you, Nate!
Hey Nate, in a future video(s), can you talk a bit about the history of hoof trimming? Like old methods before power tools, old tools that aren't used anymore, when and where it really started, that kind of stuff?
Hey Nate, long time watching of your channel! Absolutely amazing work as always! Wanted to ask a question. How often do problems resolve themselves before you're able to get to them and all your doing is clean up to quicken the process of new and properly forming hoof horn?
I appreciate that you still explain things for new viewers. Full disclosure: I’ve been watching for over a year and I still need the white line explained :P
Haha, me too! I was peeling an apple just yesterday and realised I was shaving slivers off it to get a nice smooth surface following a sole separation lol! Can't have any of that unattached apple skin left behind.... oh wait....!!!
For some reason, the sound quality on this video seems to be quite a bit better than your previous videos. Dont know if you changed anything, but if you did, it's working.
Watching these repairs is so relaxing. These poor cows having to deal with their cracked or infected hooves must be excruciating. It's a blessing to have people like you who repair them.
Thank you for all you do--for the cows and your viewers. My question is: how do you know when an imperfection (for lack of a better word) is not an issue? Often I see marks on the opposite claw that look similarly problematic, but they are obviously fine. I would like to have a better eye. Thank you.
We used to raise Dalmatians when I was in grade school. You should hear the chorus when the puppies are complaining. One starts it and then it was a choir of 13 howling for their Mom. A wonderful thing. I do miss it.
I like how you're always explaining what you're doing and why. I find it very interesting. Give those little cows a few days, and milk won't matter to them. But in the meantime, yes, you're right they'll let you know their not happy. 🙂🦋
I've watched enough of your videos that the last cut of the hoof wall at the end made me flinch a little. I know it needed done, but it doesn't make it easier to see. 😮 All good! Thanks for the video!
I bought some weeners at a cattle auction here in Australia the other day and they sound just the same. I keep them in an area away from the adult cattle until they are older. They have a nice green grassed and shady area near my homestead house (ranch) that they can be at as much grass as they like, get fresh clean well water and relax under some big trees. They are very spoilt but lovely calves. I have 9 at the moment. I run beef and dairy cattle here and it is a busy full time job from tending the cattle, milking and looking after the 200,000 acres I have here. We are vaily isolated here and getting the milk out of the vats and onto the buyers is critical as there's a time frame I can hold the milk for before I have to dump it. Its a 7 day a week job and its definitely not for everyone
Love your videos Nate. I’ve been watching for quite some time now. I usually watch each video several times. There is just something about them I find so fascinating. Thanks for putting the extra work into making them.
Just such a great hoof trimmer! Your explanations, and easy listening voice, make your videos so great to watch Nate, I could just imagine those little calves stamping their little hooves, demanding their milk fix😂 thank you Nate for another excellent video, till your next one, take care.👍💙🐄
Hi Nate ❤️ been popping in once in awhile to watch your videos, been watching since you had like 12k subs or something close. I can't believe you're at 900k now! That's crazy. Thanks for the hard work and dedication. You're amazing
I love these videos. Nate, have you ever been injured by a cow? i know from experience that bulls can be grumpy, but have you ever had a cow that was either just dangerous or because of their size, injured you? Thank you for all the knowledge your videos teach!
I'm watching this around 3:45 a m. because it reminds me that I will not likely deal with anything requiring anywhere near as much skill and attention, today, or even this week or month. 😐 It sets the bar for me.
Hello Nate! I've been wondering, how can you tell when a reddish spot (or any kind of "off" mark) means trouble and when it doesn't? For example the other hoof had a reddish area kinda in the middle there, how can you tell it's nothing in that case? Or is it that you consider it worth investigating/trimming if it happens to be accompanied by other symptoms (like swelling, etc.)?
Idk if you've ever shown this or if it happens but have you ever gotten a lesion or such on both claws on one hoof? And if so, does that mean there is no block applied and it's just wrapped?
Hey Nate… just curious… why do you think so many other hoof trimmers on RUclips are constantly dealing with hoof abscesses more than what you seem to be? Is it the quality of the care of the cows, the trimmers, or what?
Wow. You can really hear in this one the differences in the way the knife sounds on the different parts of the hoof. Is it just that the horn is pink, or did she have some bruising on the blocked claw?
It is a delight to watch you work-your voice isn't quite Bob-Ross-smooth, but you have his cadence down exactly: the perfect rate to ensure uptake of information. Incidentally, how do you decide which jobs get followup videos?
Just a question and not meaning to question you as you do your job. I know that you are a true professional and you care about the cows. But at 0:50, how to you know that the mark on the right claw, there is like a circular spot in the middle of that claw. How do you know that something isn't wrong there? I'm still a newbie to hoof trimmer watching.
Love the videos Nate, super relaxing, quick question, how come your videos are half as long as your older ones? I love watching your videos just no sped up as fast
As usual another comfy video. Quick question, have you ever had the unlucky scenario where you fix a claw and the claw you put the block on gets injured later?
I've watched Nate for years. As Nate said, there's a defect in the area where the outer hoof wall joins the hoof sole. Cows are well fed, so it could be the cows could injure it somehow. Numerous of Nate's videos cover these types of defects that are worth watching! Chow!
This is a question. I used to breastfeed and when I'd hear my baby cry, I would produce more milk. Do cows do the same thing when they hear their little baby crying? Mama lunchtime feed me.
Question… not a farmer at all. I just find these videos interesting. Whats under the claw/hoof? Is it flesh? How does the hoof regrow when so much is cut away?
If you had a hoof trimming knife could you practice on a bar of soap? Is it about the Same amount of force to cut through ? Could you sculpt something with the soap😊. Thanks for your videos !!
When and why did you start applying the block by first smearing the adhesive on the outside of the claw? Does it stick better/longer? This is the first video I've seen it applied like that.
nates a boss…. its so relaxing to watch and hear his friendly knowledgable dismeanor
True, “Dismeanor” was a center of learning in Numeanor
Absolutely. Well said. 😊

Nate has posted and all is right in my world 😊
Hey Nate, long time watching of your channel! Absolutely amazing work as always!
Wanted to ask a question.
How often do problems resolve themselves before you're able to get to them and all your doing is clean up to quicken the process of new and properly forming hoof horn?
Listening to this through headphones. Sounds like I have cows in my kitchen. Thanks for sharing Nate.
I appreciate that you still explain things for new viewers. Full disclosure: I’ve been watching for over a year and I still need the white line explained :P
I swear anytime I’m peeling something like fruit , I always think I’m Nate and cleaning up a cows foot. It’s just natural now. Lol

Yes, I peeled a mango and straight in my head I heard Nate's voice and I'm peeling away. Nice and smooth 🤣
I enjoy your videos. You have a great manner with the cows and give a thorough explanation. I do miss the longer videos though.
Nate, what did dairymen use to help heal hoof problems prior to fancy adhesives? Has there always been some kind of glue and wooden blocks?
I wanna know, too.
Melted horses to stick stuff to other stuff
