Lots of new stuff in this video we don't get to see very often, thanks Nate! Pretty funny how this bull didn't want you touching his foot, so he just applied pressure and his leg became like a pillar. It really underscores just how powerful these animals are. If it wasn't for modern technology, that could have been a dealbreaker right there. Amazing animals!
An old school rope and pulley could have lifted the leg, but it would have taken a lot more effort!! Pulleys are amazing things. Modern tech sure does save a lot of time and manpower though.
Its amazing how little this job has changed over the past few hundred years. This and shoeing horses. But it’s amazing in what has been added to make it easier yet the same. Love watching those grinders or the small details you can do with a knife
He is a very well natural bull. The one that is likely to cause an injury to someone who forgets HE A FUCK8NG BIG BULL. Even so I bet he would let you give him a good scratch.
What a rare treat! I don't see bulls very often on hoof trimming channels. I don't watch many though. Calves in sweaters are so cute! I don't see that very often either.
He did get lucky, getting Nate to trim your hoofs is a treat. You know it will be done right, and you get all the comfort that he can offer you while it's done and afterwards as well.
If you ever get the opportunity, could you do a video showing a newborn calf's squishy hoofs? And then maybe a slightly older calf to show how they become strong hoofs quite quickly after drying out. I feel like it might be quite interesting and educational to the people who haven't seen a calf in real life before
He's a pretty boy. It has been a strange winter here in WI. There has been little to no frost in the ground where I am. I woke up to 8" of snow. Only 3 was predicted. It will be interesting to see how it will affect the amount of dermatitis and other foot problems you will see. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge.
Oh my goodness, the baby calves are so adorable, I wouldn’t get any work done with those cuties around😂love watching the big fellows get a trim, he was very patient Nate while you were trimming him, a very handsome boy too, thank you for posting Nate, excellent video as always, take care.👍💙🐄
Great work! My daughter loved the calfs with the "capes". It would be interesting to see watch that lady with the dents and see what she stands on. Thanks for sharing! Cheers from the 920 of Wi.
It’s actually really cool that all big guy had to do was put his weight on that foot and he wasn’t going anywhere! I forgot how big bulls are too. His head is massive! Great video as always Nate! 👍
I've never had cattle, but have had horses and a donkey. This contraption you are using is ingenious. Makes it safer and not so backbreaking for the farrier.
WoW, what a beautiful bull!🐮❤ It looks like they put most of their weight on the front feet, their hooves almost look hollow….! Great work Nate as usual. Spring is in the air here in Ontario, Canada.🪺🌷 Hope it’s coming down where you are as well! Blessings and best wishes send to you and all the bovines you treat…Take care🙏🏼🍀👋🏼🇨🇦
Thank you for taking such good care of these animals needs. What you do really has to help them feel better and suffer less pain. Glad that the bull got noticed and put on the trim list!! I'm sure you checked back on it's progress. Thank you for your professionalism!!
As soon as you showed that back foot I thought to myself: "Whoa - that's digital dermatitis!" My immediate next thought was "Why the hell do I know that!?" I may not understand why I watch these videos, but I love them! Keep 'em coming!
Found you Nick, through the hoof gp. Whilst you both have a different way of working, and producing your RUclips channels, Three major thing shines through that keep me watching you both. Compassion, Kindness and the willingness to spread your knowledge. Whether you like music or not with your hoof trim watching or you wield your knife skills fast or slow, those three things you have in common shine through in every single video you both produce. Thank you Nick and Graeme!
I grew up on a cattle ranch my grandparents then later father owned. It was about 10 square miles, not a huge ranch for our area (Sacramento and Guadeloupe mountain areas of New Mexico) but large enough to make a living. Anyway it interesting to watch the issues you run across in your work. I also watch a show out of Scotland who does the same kind of work. Our ranch had tons of rock. The cattle’s hoofs became much harder than in areas of soft or soft and damp soil. I cannot think of a time where we had issues with our cargoes hoofs.
All of Nate’s educational info has come to pass, I knew that was hairy heel as soon as I saw it LOL. My weekend can now begin I have seen my Nate video.
Great job and video. Your narration Nate is always amazing and educational. Cattle can be phenomenal in their habits. My uncle used to say no matter what you think cows always have something new to offer. Thanks for sharing.✨✨✨👏👏👏👋👋👋👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👌👌👌
When i see these calfes in blankets i have no regrets putting blankets onto my foals. They wont go outdoor without them in cold or WET weather. Thanks for showing the handsome well behaved Bull. Thanks
Fantastic. I was just wondering what a full trim looks like start to finish and what a trim looks like on a hoof with no issues. Thanks for including both in this video.
This video was awesome Nate showed us some new rarely seen cow's and bull's hooves that have worn to different degrees of deformity's and directions. We love the cute little calves they are adorable!
He looks huge in the chute! My friend had a bull named Bradley. Kept it behind an 3/4" plywood 1/2 door. We had kids the same age and I said you can't keep a bull like around kids! He was 2300 pounds of pure muscle. Don't think I could have put my arms around his huge neck. Gary said he's a baby, I raised him from calf and he wouldn't hurt a baby. Next time we visited the farm, I went to check on Bradley but he was gone. Asking where he was the farmer told me the bull had tried to kill him. Pinned him in the corner of the barn and tried to crush him in the corner but could not get his head into to corner far enough to do the deed. His hired hand saved him and Bradley went the meat market the next day. Phew!
I love your videos so much! I particularly enjoy when there’s just random footage of cows (or dogs or cats) at the beginning and end of your videos! It wraps it up so well. And these calves are cuties!
The calves❤❤❤❤ I love baby calves so much. I went to a dairy farm once and I got to feed like 15 babies with a bottle and some preferred my fingers😅 let's just say I was in heaven😊. It's crazy that no matter if it's a baby animal or baby human they really do put everything in their mouths! My carhart jacket and pants had so much spit on them from the calves try to eat my clothes as well as my fingers 😂
It's okay girl. I also choose to stay in one spot all on my own too.
"I'm sorry, sir, we dont milk bulls 'round here"
that's a bull
@@goyangi4143 i think they are talking about the cow after the bull bud :)
@Goyangi That was established in both the title of the video and Nate's introductory remarks.
@@beasty909 Thank you 😭 I feel like I'm going to get notifications all week from people not watching the whole video before reading my comment....

He's a big boy for sure. The Brown Swiss seem to be pretty gentle. Even that big bull was pretty calm. 🙂
Oh neat, I've been looking thru the comments to see if anyone knew the breed. Gorgeous animals, for sure!
He is a very well natural bull. The one that is likely to cause an injury to someone who forgets HE A FUCK8NG BIG BULL. Even so I bet he would let you give him a good scratch.
Yeah, he was downright friendly.
Yeah, I thought bulls were just murder machines.

The bull seemed like he had a nice disposition. Have you ever run across any animal that was extremely uncooperative ? Have a beautiful day. ❤

That bull is beautiful
Beautibull
He's really milking this content for all it's worth.
I herd if you see their tail wagyu know they like you
Not sure if that's the bull's balls but it certainly Kobe the case

Thank you, Nate.
Your knowledge never ceases to amaze me. Good job as usual Nate!
Growing up in the countryside of mid Michigan and now living in the city, you’re video’s always bring joy🎉
Those calves are so cute! I could never be a hoof trimmer - I'd just end up petting the baby calves all day.

So, digital dermatitis is the modern problem. How did they deal with analog dermatitis back in the old days?
*Deep sigh.* Lol.
😂😂😂😂
Thanks, dad 😂
Very good one

I almost forgot bulls exist lol. Great video Nate.

Very interesting hoof grooves. It's amazing that, that's not painful! 😊

That cows hoof was interesting! Learned something new today
That "chute" contraption that lifts the cows, grabs their legs, holds their heads in place...
It's like cow 'Saw'.
Nate, you're so talented...and that's no bull!!!
Nice job on the bull.❤❤❤

hey Mr Nate?
id like to say thank you for showing us those two diddy sweethearts at the end :) x
What a gorgeous bull...even bulls like a good head rub
The cute baby calves in coats part made me so happy 🥺
I saw one of these machines a couple of years ago. It’s amazing!
I love his color! He's very handsome!
She might be hunting a bit of sunshine and that spot where she gets the sunshine has something on the ground that causes that impression in the sole.
What's the total time he was in the crush? He was pretty chill for a bull. Cheers and thanks for another great video Nate
@@alanoldham1700 Does Nate ever call it "the crush"? I think that might be a Hoof GP thing.
I've heard crush and chute on this channel.
@@PlainOlCourtney Definitely 'chute'. I don't recall him ever saying 'crush', which as I understand it is more of a British term.
Not very long. 7 or 8 minutes
How cute are they bless them .UK 🇬🇧 .
Love these vids Nate keep them up there great!
I love your videos, best treatment for anxiety 😊
Such cute baby calves at the end!
That bull is like, Hey your cheating, scratching me when I cannot get away...
Aww, he's beautiful.
Dang! That bull sure has some big ol' feets! (Good job, Nate, as always.)
I liken your videos to crack . And I’m the head. 😂👍 seriously I do love your videos
That's the second time I've seen you tackle digital dermatitis. Do bulls get it more than cows? And those calves in blankets are so cute!
Not really
He looks like a young brown swiss
Bull, Cute calves too!!
7:36 reminds me of my feet after standing on a ladder all day. 😉😆
That’s what I think of too.
I could listen to you talk about corn growing 🤩😍🥰
Haha! I want a baby calf! When it gets too big to keep, I'll send him to you.. lol
Nate is the lock picking lawyer of hoofs 😊
Well Nate really I just have to say, I like big bulls and I cannot lie.
Sir Mix-A-Lot “Baby Got Bull”…???
I never knew you had to do all that to their feet. You learn something new every day.
Baby cow hooves are the cutest
Do you cut them off and keep them do you
A cow standing in one spot for so long that it shapes their hoofs?! That's so intriguing. I wonder why they would do that
When in that one super comfy spot, like under a blanket in a cold winter night, one also might stay regardless of the surroundings.
Those calfs are cute🥰
I don't know if it's the sunlight or the camera but the footage looks great 👍🏼
